This is a well known thing the Uniparty does, yes. Ann Coulter was literally paid to push Trump when Clinton was pushing him as a joke. They thought he was obviously dirty (had to be, right?) and the GOP running a nonserious candidate that would be outed as having some sort of horrific past was something they could pin on the GOP forever to dunk on them. After the election, she pivoted to going on any podcast that would let her where she'd open with "he still hasn't built the wall you know." Because the goal was to demoralize and pick a wedge issue to shatter the right's base over. But if you looked back through Coulter's history her entire career was about wasting the right's energy, time, and money, funneling them away from moderate positions and local candidates and towards screeching about random unhinged shit that would make them useless.

The left pretends there's no difference between white nationalists, white supremacists, nationalists, meritocratics, or even people who want to stop the gay race communism for 5 minutes. It's a trick they do because some of those positions, barring civilizational level realignment, will never be acceptable. By pretending that "I believe the best person should be hired for the job (instead of making sure we have some pet females and pet niggers on staff at all times to make sure we don't outdo China too well or become a threat to Israel)" is the exact same as "Gas the Kikes Race War Now" they intentionally make the former just as unacceptable as the latter.
