No smart campaign advisor would look at the polling and conclude giving up your comfy job as a US rep to get third place in a senate race is a good idea.

I'm more of a Rand Paul libertarian-leaning Republican, so I'm not really a fan of the war in Iran or the previous Iran strikes, but I can't help but admit this has been a success optics-wise. The fear of a new Iraq war keeps popping up, but Trump has calmed those fears by having this be a quick and effective military operation. If Trump can succeed in getting a pro-American, pro-democracy leader to replace the ayatollah before the midterms, this operation can be considered a massive success for Trump and the war hawks. Even if I'm against foreign wars out of principle, this Iran war reminds me of Toby Keith's classic song "Courtesy of the Red, White, and Blue." This war has been the Americans whooping terrorists war that the Iraq War was supposed to be.
