I don't want another forever war, but after Midnight Hammer being exactly what Trump said it would be (bomb the nuke sites and a harsh word) and then Trump arresting Maduro with no apparent negative consequences I've learned to just sit back and wait to see where Trump is going with something.

I don't give a shit about Iran, but if this is just another check on the list of things we need to do to neuter China (which seems to be what Trump is actually going for) and it just so happens that aligns with Israel's goals than so be it. No mass deployment, no nation building, no forever war so I'm content. It's also been real cool seeing what an unleashed American military is capable of given a concrete goal and a deadline.

Israel is an inherently belligerent and expansionist state. They are advancing into Lebanon and bombing Beirut with the aim of subduing Hezbollah. If Israeli occupation will be permanent there or not, time will tell.

If Iran was to fall it would be a good thing for American interests, but there would be no lasting peace in the Middle East as a whole. Too many countries jockeying for influence and control right now, even among "allies" of the United States.

I can’t personally guarantee that a month from now will see a happy ending acceptable for everyone, but it’s absolutely true that this is major for neutering china’s ability to cause trouble.

Also, the alternative being leaving a country that hates western civilization within range of global shipping routes, like able to nuke the Suez Canal, is just unacceptable. One move like wrecking the Suez Canal at an opportune moment could be the type of thing to alter the outcome of a war. Can’t leave the China/Iran axis able to do that at will. (And who knows what Russia will actually do?)

Also, as many ev’s and drones as China wants to build, fighters, bombers, trucks, tanks, and most ships still require petrochemical fuel.
