I was born in the southwest and apparently at the time in the very late 80's and early 90's it was a really nice place. I guess all the trash from California is having an exodus to Arizona, New Mexico and Texas so those places are getting worse and worse.
Even when I moved back to America in 2002 it was getting bad, but by the time I left the southwest around covid things were FUCKED. It was mainly niggers. Mexicans were never an issue, they were polite and minded their business. They aren't pussies like we are though, so when the nigger crime spread east, the Mexicans became gangsters to combat that.

These boom(er) towns increasingly are building their infrastructure revolving around banks, salons, churches, and country clubs.

And within the last 7-8 years, rehab places.

Having honest conversations or reading them on this site has done more to make me reassess my positions on some things, asking the question of "Do I really believe this or did I just pick up this position from an echo chamber?".

Agreed. I find that I'll hear the official narrative from everyone, then retreat to my right wing echo chamber, and realise that the truth is somewhere in the middle, and it's somewhere like here where I can dissect all the information that floats in my head and drives me crazy because I need to know the actual truth.
I think as painful as it is, every single person needs to be this socratic about absolutely everything they hear, and come out of it with their initial thesis statement refined, and challenged but ultimately validated, e.g. my initial thought with the Pretti shooting was he probably agitated the situation, I research and find out that it seemed to be the case albeit I.C.E. didn't handle it perfectly, and I reach the logical conclusion that even when I.C.E. fucks up, they are necessary and are doing their jobs and this situation wouldn't happen if they had co-operation from local and state police and authorities and leftists continue to protest in ways that, even if a right winger were to do it, I would find obnoxious, unprofessional and potentially criminal and it's their fault for putting themselves in that situation.
