Trump is actually displaying power in the US, which is unprecedented for a president,
If China Kidnapped the Taiwanese president in the middle of the night would the world see it as "powerful" or cowardly?
Shits all a matter of perspective aint it?
Keep it a bean Id like to see us deploy 3 fully equipped divisions to Poland with heavy artillery, air assets, heavy tanks and all accompanying support companys in a set period of time and demonstrate real "boots" on the ground response capability to show we really do have the hard force required of a major power with world wide concerns.
We are dang good at clandestine OPS
our war(conflict) record in the same period is less stellar.
Let me tell ya one of my favorite storys from ww2 and ill try and be breif but I think the lesson from it is very relevent.
in 1942 we had operation torched the north east of Africa while the British pushed from the west to the east, in this process we captured many men with on of the Brigade Generels being the man of interest.
He was captured with his men and was lead back to be questioned, at first he was all german military honor and quiet defiance but as they were walking somthing changed and suddenly he began to look like a defeated man and indicated he was willing to speak to his captors.
Later he was aked why this sudden change of bravado, was the overwhelming amount of US arms just to much to bear? The generel said no, on the way over he had seen a PRIVATE of all people walk by with a cake, made by his motheer, and shipped over to africa in time for his birthday and he said 'the choclate frosting still appeared to be cold"
He said in that moment its when he knew the war was lost, not the capture of him and his men, not the sheer might of the US military power or the startegy of joint warfare, it was the sheer logistical ability to get a lowly private a cake from his mother to him, intact, fresh and on time
the general confessed he had been begging high command for artillery rounds for months and his crys were often ignored somtimes outright derided for not making do with what he had.
Alot of people think we won ww2 with might but we won with our logistics and sheer production capacity but it was mainly the logistics, id like to see more efforts in that way.
