Yes, this is precisely why I have no sympathy for political agitators in situations like these.

The MO of these people is to deliberately try to manufacture martyrs. They know the scrutiny on the police is much harder than it is on them, so you have shitheads walking up and trying to pull on riot shields, looking for the smallest hint of askew policy enforcement by causing the high-tension situations that lead to it.

These are people who are going out of their way to try to instigate as much violence as they can, and in every single situation, I have no sympathy for when an officer has to use reasonable force because the situation only occurred in response to their deliberately trying to impede federal agents.

Anytime I see someone decrying this shit and asking how we're meant to deal with such brutality and overreach, I tell them "I merely comply with the law."
