I've always used automatic when driving truck lol. Never used manual in general. Dad's old F-150 from 78 had a 3 speed, with a side handle. Always was fun switching into gear.

Thing is I never remember problems with the 3 speed. The V8 engine was gimped because it was built in the 70s, but it still had plenty of torque despite the low horsepower
