I think the biggest issue is all of the dot Indians who had useful knowledge and skills to bring with them to America have long since come to the country. The ones coming now are those on the bottom of the barrel who have little to offer in terms of redeeming value or earning their keep. The US, or any other country for that matter, can't sustain itself as long as it allows people with no useful skills to flood the country like a river flowing through a busted dam.

My non-law perspective: This seems to be an attempted end-around the shutdown to get the person sworn in. The question in my mind is whether a state-level official in Arizona can swear in a Federal politician based on the request being made here. My instinct is to say this shouldn't happen, but the court system tends to ignore logic and/or precedent.
I wonder if this is independent of the committee or whatever it's called Governor Pritzker wants in place via executive order to track misconduct by Feds in Illinois. As much as I'd normally hope on the bandwagon for "law enforcement acting unacceptably deserves to be held accountable," this reeks of a partisan act - especially since its unlikely Pritzker will have the same zeal for looking into anyone who behaves just as unacceptably towards the Feds.
I'm not sure why or how it popped up, but I saw something recently on social media that - if i read it right - encourages teachers to coddle students behaving unacceptably and use cutesy language to try to steer them to the desired behavior... probably because classroom discipline is too problematic or triggering these days. If I ever see this kind of post again, I'll have to screencap it if I can to post here.

Daily kos and DU are the lower levels of the DNC. They direct them all from top and it filters down. MSNBC is that way too, they're all spouting of the same thing, but DU is a 'forum' and Dailykos is an 'article with comments' site, but it's all controlled as much as possible from the top.

English is my third language, I have no background cultural context to know what Michaelmas is but I still knew when it was roughly without any dictionary because sentence 2 made it clear it was november. I don't know exactly when in November it is but that isn't something that's hard for people to look up. Context clues are important in text. This was also not a complex text for the time, it was designed for the average barely literate person.
