All of North Korea's infrastructure is militarized and built with the expectation that the US will invade. When everything is bunkerized, attacking is difficult. On top of this, China supports North Korea and an invasion of North Korea would necessitate China getting into the mix - not a pleasant scenario. On top of that, North Korea does have a ton of conventional munitions and could level South Korea in a matter of hours, not to mention serious damage they could do to Japan. This does not even get into the clean-up and the humanitarian crisis. There are 26 million people in North Korea and a fuckload of them are already starving. It's one giant layer cake of shit.
