one example of this from my home state of Kentucky was the "black patch" tobacco wars. A large tobacco conglomerate (now called british-american tobacco) cornered the tobacco market and drove down prices which was threatening to put the small Kentucky/Tennessee tobacco farms out of business.

There isn't a smoke-filled room somewhere with a dozen billionaires sitting around a table directing national affairs. It's more like a million older paper-millionaires who truly believe they are "wealthy" because number has been artificially inflated for half their lives and don't understand the consequences of what they've done. Their brains won't allow them to understand it, they earned those paper gains and the illusion of fake wealth you see.

They ABSOLUTELY will intentionally tank the economy if Trump continues to take things away from them, especially since they could do so and it would reset the 2008 crash (which they're at fault for but have delayed for nearly 20 years by money printing) and it would be immediately pinned on Trump.
