I finished bioshock infinite about an hour ago and oh boy, I have never seen a game that was like a 10/10 in the first hour only to become a 4/10 by the end of it all. This games problems come from the story, gameplay wise it’s fine, it’s no doom or even og halo, it’s gunplay is acceptable, but that story it feels like the writers wanted to tell the story about the rise and fall of Colombia, but half way through the story the writers wanted to do multiverse fuckery and as such resulted in the entire story becoming a confused mess. I really think this game cemented my absolute HATE for the multiverse as a concept, like the stuff with the vox populi being this at first noble liberation group that gets internally corrupted through pride and ego is a cool concept, too bad it’s resolved in the same hour it’s introduced. Like they could’ve nay should’ve done that but no we had to focus on the multiverse. I mean they literally did something like this in the first game with atlas but I guess they couldn’t be bothered to do it again I guess. Comstock is a stupid villain, let me ask you a question, why doesnt comstock just tell booker that he is him? Why doesnt booker recognize that comstock his him? It sure is convenient that he never went to a library that showed what comestock looked like when he was younger or else this entire plot would fall apart. The multiverse as a concept is something I hope dies soon, becuase somehow this game ends with Elizabeth killing booker just as he becomes comstock and this somehow kills all comstock across all universes and by extension all Elizabeth’s? How? How does killing this one version of booker simutanusly kill all of them across the multiverse? What you telling me in the infinite universe there isn’t one were as soon as booker gets baptized he trips on a rock and breaks his neck? God this story sucks.
90% of the story problems with Bioshock infinite come down to Ken Levine being an idiot who’s too dumb to understand quantum physics and multiverses. I’m not even exaggerating, he said that himself at some point (I’ll look for a source later if anyone’s interested.)
The other 10% result from it lacking an interesting critique of the philosophy it’s attempting to comment on. Which is saying something, because frankly the first two aren’t nearly as thought provoking or deep as many people like to pretend.

Elizabeth is hot though, probably the most redeeming thing about the game if you ignore the half baked mechanics relating to her. It was also really funny seeing Ken Levine freak out about all the porn related to her.

Libertarians never fail to have an insufferable moment. It's foolish to assume that the people being imported share their ideological ethos and won't ever use preferential hiring to their benefit all the while they might potentially spread the ideas of a caste system and Hindu nationalism into the United States. American citizens shouldn't also have to compete against an endless flow of immigrants who are willing to game the system and lower the wages of the locals by working for cheaper pay.
Lolberts are a classic example of too much theoretical. Maybe An-Cap does work in theory, but anyone with practical experience of the real world knows that people are going to violate the NAP, and eventually someone will do it who has such overwhelming force that the proposed checks will fail, and you’ll see government in all but name.

Infinite was the first Current Year game where you could watch almost in real time how wokeness collapsed liberal creativity.
The whole thing is just making white people and US history look as evil as possible in context of (then fringe) 21st century left wing social views, including the Communist villain of the game (a black woman who tries to kill an innocent white boy near the end) has an attempt to have her reputation rehabilitated I think in the Burial at Sea DLC.

There is also an in-universe piece of propaganda the main characters find at what is basically a KKK rally, and it's just a depiction George Washington holding the Liberty Bell and Ten Commandments with a deified Colombia behind him surrounded by unflattering caricatures of nonwhite and non-Christian foreigners (albeit with the presence of a fat, drunk Irish guy dressed like a leprechaun and some people with him on the left end there who are probably Russians/Poles) - interesting Slavs are on the left, given the Marxist messaging here:

Someone mentioned American Krogan a few pages back, and it's only right to post his essay as well, since he names the Jew multiple times.
https://youtube.com/watch?v=n11P9G6lVwk, list: PLeg_mI2dnugtmPJkd-j_kpxFR0eO_NC_MThrow in his Mass Effect essay for good measure since BioWare deserves everything they get, like all canucks.
https://youtube.com/watch?v=lWvAZmEuAhgYes, this is political, jannies.
The krogan one was kinda surprising to me, if what he says is to be believed, then Bioshock has been a psy-op of Da jooz from the very beginning.

>floating, completely inaccessible theocratic ethnostate city nation in the sky
>they all hate minorities and foreigners with a burning passion
>they have robots walking around
>they still import blacks and chinks to do hard labor and menial tasks anyway

I don't think the writers really thought this setting through

Bioshock Infinite doesn't even live up to the name Bioshock.

In 1, Plasmids and their creation were central to the plot, the lore, and half the characters you meet. As was Jack Ryan's nature as a biologically engineered and conditioned killing machine grown from a discarded fetus.

In 2, the entire game revolves around Delta and the Little Sisters biologically implanted bonds.

In both 1 and 2 the Little Sisters existence as a source of ADAM, and the players choices in how to deal with that, directly contribute to what ending you get.

But in Infinite? Nothin'.

Biological experimentation has almost zero relation or relevance to the story, setting, characters or even themes. None. It's just there for background flavor and zappy powers. Elizabeth's powers, as far as I know, are never even remotely explained and Elizabeth just has them naturally. She's basically magic and the experimentation done on her isn't relevant to the actual story.

All that actually matters in relation to her powers is Multiverse bullshit and time travel.

Bioshock Infinite fundamentally isn't even a Bioshock game. It's Ken Lavine jerking himself off and writing a shitty Black Mirror episode.
I appreciate the sentiment, but you spergs are seething over a game that’s more than ten years old at this point.

It's just propaganda. That's all it is.

I never finished Bioshock Infinite because I could never get past the question 'why are there even blacks here to begin with'? A racist city is floating in the sky and they decided they needed to bring the blacks along so they could be... racist to them? Give them watermelon and fried chicken? They needed someone to play camp town races? If they hated blacks in Columbia so much and needed cheep labor, then what was the point of the robots / industrialization? There's no evidence of slavery in Colombia, which is kind of odd thing to exclude, and they rarely call the blacks 'niggers'.
This leaves only one logical interpretation—Columbia was founded by nigger lovers. Everywhere else in the world was so much worse for blacks that Columbia was the place that treated them best and offered them a home.

As we're talking about game writing I'd like to introduce a based woman. She talks about modern writing being bad because post-modernists don't believe in morality. Which is what makes their stories so fucking boring.

This is why I enjoyed Jack from Puss in Boots 2 as a more recent and newer villain in the last decade. He's so unapologetically evil.

Yeah, that blew my mind. Robots are more reliable, accurate, efficient and powerful for the kind of dumb labor the blacks were imported for, and don't talk back either. Not to mention being capable of far more than the "slave class." WTF were they thinking writing that horseshit? Apart from "grrrr... gotta make whitey dumb so our Wakandans can beat them up!"

As I think about bioshock infinite it might be genius. The ending is the player character killing themselves to defeat fascism. So the only way to truly end fascism is for everyone to kill themselves. It reminds me of guess who's back, in that way.

i'm sure 95% of the bioshock infinite-posting will be jannied up tomorrow, but this has been one of the funniest nights on the farms in a while.
