Looking through that schizo lense, then this and everything else that has happened lately would be the "deep state" pulling the plug on the left after realizing it's harmful and unnecessary. Not just the organization, but trying to convince the plebs "everything these people said? Discard it. It's useless. We're going back".
The conspiracy theorist in me says it probably went something like

>push 20 years of wokeshit and globalism to drive immigration, get cheap labor, etc.
>in 2020 AI outperforms expectations on every level, becomes clear it is a viable replacement for cheap labor
>This combined with the realization that dragging immigrants into the west is at best a net loss if not exclusively a loss, and some of the countries globalism propped up are getting uppity, means the strategy is no longer viable.
>Decide to pull the plug: tell their leftist pawns to take the dumbest positions possible so they can be publicly humiliated and the plebs who bought into their shit are so embarassed they act like they never believed it
>Go back to some form of normalcy that carried us beforehand, but with the added benefit of machines and AI doing the grunt work.
Again I don't actually believe this, but sometimes the world makes more sense if you think about it this way. It's genuinely mindblowing how fucked the left has gotten lately and hard to see it as just a coincidence.
