I have said this before so it's nothing new, but I use to be involved in the emergency services in NYC. The cops fucking HATE Mandami. Yes even the liberal ones. I keep in touch with many back before I left NYC to do different things with my life. The DAs office is even worse, many of the lower staffers who aren't fucking DSA types can't stand him either, but they aren't allowed near "important" cases. Also they don't like Trump but they can't STAND the DSA. Many are actually saying they will vote for Rubio.
Mamdani could find the 30 or so people it would take to do the grab no problem if he wanted too. Once they fight back against "one of theirs" the rest of the cops would rally around the ones who went along with it. They always do. This idea that cops will choose the right thing over their orders has never actually happened except some rare cases where they knew the person who gave them orders would soon have relatively little power.
