Kids are finding it harder and harder to read with each generation. Tech has been dumbed down to the point where each generation is no longer reliably better at tech than the previous one. You see zoomers in the job market who refuse to do things like problem solve, or even look out for a company they work for. We haven't been a high trust society in a long time, but this is eating away at whatever we had left of it.
Younger people will likely trend towards commie or at least a nanny state if they are brought up stupid and unable to care for themselves or their futures. Pair this with tech and there was already a growing problem where we just, as a society, have forgotten skills and lessons the past generations knew or had to learn the hard way. Add AI, and the rot is just accelerating. People aren't writing their own texts anymore. People aren't reading anymore. People are so social media and phone brainrotted that TV shows on Netflix have to purposefully dumb themselves down or they will get bad reviews because people can't follow the plot. You could even be an anti-AI sperg and say people no longer want to even try creative skills or imagine things because AI can do it for them. (This could be said way more of social stuff like AI relationships tbh)
