My source of hopium, is that given the work ICE and the military has done, the dems already have a ton of clips for the midterms and the next Presidential election so I feel like (and this might have already dawn on them) that you can't slow down things anymore for the sake of optics.

They do not fear ICE explicitly because they don't believe their own lies about ICE. If ICE was actually killing people, acting like an actual SS, there would be no protests.
