Never heard of it until now. Is it any good? Worth a watch or something?
It has a decent if shallow rom-com feel in the first season. Then is just gets... odd. I'm not sure how to describe it better than that. Plot lines open up just to randomly stop. It feels disjointed, like they had no idea what they actually wanted to do with the premise, and none of the writers had a single conversation with each other. I just finished the last season.
ETA: The premise is basically when you are close to death, you can upload your consciousness into a virtual hotel/resort that comes with subscription fees, a mega company owning your consciousness, and other stuff that would follow. People can log into the hotel using "AI" goggles and suits and interact with you. It presents some interesting ideas, but the execution is lacking.

I have a rather high tolerance for wokeshit, lot of things I can just roll my eyes at and move on. This show gets painfully woke, very quickly. If I have to give it a little credit, it's sometimes making fun of itself. Sometimes. But otherwise it has all of the obnoxious purple-haired septum-pierced features you can imagine. Bitchy black women complaining about Capitalism every chance they get. Ugly fat soyboys with sexbots they need to remind us are "incels". Endless bitching about rich people. Collegemarxist-ese all over the place, "social justice", "working class", bellyaching about climate change. Every rich person is afforded approximately two seconds of humanity followed by unending ludicrous straw "maybe I could have a species hunted to extinction for the prestige" cartoon villainy. Stealing from anyone perceived as "rich" is framed as a good thing.

If you think season one is annoying, season two launches into space from the drop. Radical anti-tech commune where they bitch and moan about rich people. There's one single depthless crazy-eyed fanatic priest character in the commune that all the commies hate because he's "misogynist". The main female character is an enormous cunt who treats her Tinder date like garbage, lies to him, and steals from him because he's an arrogant hot guy stereotype, and it's okay to abuse THEM. What's this, oh no! The cackling rich people stole the freeware Upload software! They're doing it to entice poor people to kill themselves so they can't vote in the uPcOMinG ELeCTiON!!!

I watched the first season, thought it was ok and then forgot it existed until now. Yeah, there are some interesting ideas but I don’t expect much from media from the past 15 years. It all feels like trying to find an expensive steak in a landfill, sure it’s possible but not worth it.

See, I sort of took all that shit not very seriously. It didn't seem like they were trying to be serious about it, so why should I take it that way? I get your point, though. I forgot that the reason they were killing people was for votes, though. Yeah, that was dumb.

( I actually watched season 1 and saw the writing on the wall and checked out with S2, which is a shame because s1 was interesting enough)

I feel like this is just a common trend for Amazon shows. I like the first season of the Marvelous Miss Maisle and The Boys a lot, not my favorite things in the world but engaging enough shows for what they are. The Boys especially was shit from the first episode of the second season and from what I've seen it's gotten even worse as its gone along as the writers seem to be getting script ideas from 2017 Twitter talking points and hot takes.

I've seen too many shows following that formula for it to amuse me too much anymore. Basically everything Amazon puts out does it after their first season. Every episode is like

Just kidding, wouldn't that be silly? Anyway,

here's a silly scene right after it, we're not airing out our annoying angry politics at least ten times an episode, promise! 🤞

In 2033, humans can "upload" themselves into a virtual afterlife of their choosing. When computer programmer Nathan Brown dies prematurely, he is uploaded to the very expensive Lakeview, but then finds himself under the thumb of his possessive, still-living girlfriend Ingrid.
Never watched it but that sounds kinda hot ngl
