Yeah, pretty much this. Chris used to message people on sites like this, and it is a pretty passive means of approaching women, so it's possible he's still messaging people. I have an OKCupid profile that I rarely use; the only women who have messaged me without me contacting them first have been, to put it nicely, Faerynesque. I don't imagine Chris gets many women replying or contacting him first.

A long time ago, OKCupid had a system called "Woo", which was essentially a way for lazy people to initiate contact with someone they were interested in, but they didn't want to take to time to compose a message of any length. They've since discontinued the Woos, so members now actually have to write messages to one another now. What a concept.
If Chris is getting responses on OKC (very unlikely if he expects women to make the first move), they're probably all variations of these:
