Feedback Update/Clarify this A&N rule for autists, please - I pay my "two-word tax" like a good citizen, and get angry when others don't.

Every time I load a new page in Articles and Discussion, the same damn line stands out like a red hot poker to the eyeball:
  • Don't post if you have nothing to say. Posts anyone could write do not need to be made. One-word replies are bans from this board.
But what defines "nothing to say" and "posts anyone could write" these days, anyway? If an image is relevant enough that it conveys sufficient meaning, does it equal a thousand words--or do two more need to be added for good measure? I've seen plenty of posts consisting of just emoticons and plenty of one-word replies on that board during my time here, while posters like myself and others scurry around like mice under the shadow of the banhammer (and make sarcastic comments about "paying our due" along the way).

So, in short: can we get a little consistency up in this bitch? Thank you and peace out.

No.

This may difficult for your tism-brain to fathom but most people don't need absolute 100-percent consistency and would in fact prefer a little discretionary room for Jersh/Mods to be more permissive on a case-by-case basis, depending on how obnoxious a person is being or how much they're actively shitting up and sabotaging discussion.

This is how rules function in the real world. In reality people get away with little infractions they shouldn't because its ultimately easier for everyone to just let the kids Jay-walk when there's no cars coming, or to just let Pajeet bodega proprietors sell cigarettes without carding anyone.
