I figured a thread like this would be interesting to have here. The premise is simple, you spill your tea and you get rated for it.
If other kiwis agree with you (bad)
If other kiwis either don't care about your opinion or just have no idea what you are on about
If other kiwis disagree with your opinion (good? I guess?)
I'll start, AI is the best thing invented in the past few years, despite all the retardation, the parasocial insanity, the indian slop, etc surrounding it. I treat it as a tool, nothing more nothing less and it is the best fucking tool mankind has ever invented.
Instead of wasting hours of my life watching dogshit on youtube, the summarizer just does the job for me and saves me several minutes. The funniest thing about this is that it doesn't even show up on all videos, so I'll still have to click on the video if it was made by a smaller youtuber. I hate how youtube just promotes 1~2 hours long essays by pseudo-intellectuals constantly and I'd have to watch the entirety of it ev/doe it's clearly padded out when it could've been shortened to 6 minutes. This shit's been a plague since circa 2019 and sometimes it's hard to justify it as TL;DW, so I watch it anyways for the first 30 minutes before I ultimately get bored out of my mind. The video summaries is the best fucking thing youtube ever added to their website.
Same if I'm looking for info on something and knowing well that AI has a tendency to crap the bed, I give the same prompt to gemini and copilot, not just chatgpt to ensure the accuracy. It's gonna get paraphrased, but the overall information should be similar. It's especially helpful at researching public info on lolcows and a few frens on the farms are already using AI.
And that's not just for me being a lazy ass or just not having all the time in the world, this could help developers debug errors when previously they had to trudge through pages of stackexchanges or had to beg someone to solve the issue for them on a random forum. This will drastically lower the level of requirement to get a job in webdev, backend and the likes because now problem solving is a lot less dramatic. I had a bug in a godot project that I'll never fucking finish because now I don't have any time to work on it and that's when FINALLY it got fixed, by chatgpt. I couldn't figure out this problem and the godot discord server is not particularly helpful either. The project was in development hell for years (and it'll still be in development hell, but anyways), but thanks to the clanker now the stupid ass error is finally gone.
I know there are some greedy ass retards in this world that tried to cut corners by replacing people with AI, but AI is incompetent and can't do a person's job, so I don't see it as a negative. To me, it looks like AI simply makes jobs easier which could make work more accessible to people instead of having them live off welfare money. I also know it's bad for the environment, but there are fully functioning offline models now, so I don't see it as a negative either. If anything, people who are mad about the AI burning all their electricity and water should direct their rage towards microsoft, google and openai.
The only thing I'm legit worried about are the elites trying to push AI into general AI (AGI) which is kinda like Skynet from Terminator and stuff. Please keep the AI retarded, but not too retarded so it's actually useful.
