Unpopular opinions about food

I like coconut-flavored things.

• I can't stand tea. I like the smells and some flavors are decent, but something about the teeny-bit-thicker-than-water consistency makes me nauseous.
• Gingerbread and black licorice are fucking nasty.
• Baechu kimchi is delicious, if it weren't for the smell I would eat it every day.

Looking at some of the posts here, I guess I no longer feel out of place hating licorice.

However, here's a couple more things that I think might be unpopular:

• I don't like ketchup. It's sickeningly sweet to me.
• Don't like ham either. I can't really put into words why other than maybe it has a weird texture to me? I don't know but it's gross.

Beef Jerky is over rated, Venison Jerky on the other had is under rated.

Venison jerky is underrated. If only more of that was sold.

I tried Earl Grey tea once, and I was not a big fan of it. I didn't hate it, but I prefer other teas. Maybe I prepared it wrong.

Also, after I got sick from eating too much fried crab this one time, I can't stand shellfish (I believe it's called taste aversion), and I have to be careful about the kind of seafood I eat. Anything blackened or has been cooked a little too long is a no-no. It's weird because I never had a problem with that before.

I was just at the first anime convention I've been to in a while. In the vendor's room Pocky and Ramune were being sold everywhere. I think both are overrated. If one wants to weeb out on Asian sweets, Hello Panda cookies are superior to Pocky, and Boba Tea is superior to Ramune!

You know in the UK Poky is sold as Mikado, and they taste OK nothing to write home about.

Agreed. They're essentially chocolate covered pretzels; nothing to sperg/get angry about.
Speaking of Japanese snacks, I've had red bean based snacks like ice cream and taiyaki and I think red bean is highly underrated. I'm glad to live near a store that carries them.

I sometimes go out of the way to buy ramen, not the cheap stuff at the grocery store the fairly decent stuff at Asian stores though one grocery store by my place sells Nong Shim Black ( http://www.theramenrater.com/2013/0...-spicy-pot-au-feu-flavor-premium-noodle-soup/ ) it a bit more money $1.69 to $1.89 CAD a cup but its pretty good no other grocery store in town sells this one. If you like spicy food and ramen you'll like this one.

I agree about pocky. It's essentially a stick version of a rich tea biscuit coated in god knows what. If people want a real biscuit then custard and bourbon creams are how you do it.

As good as Pocky is for some, it's not really the greatest thing out there. And Ramune, I just think after trying a few bottles to see what the flavor is, is just an overrated beverage. The Asian supermarket my mother and I go to sells Mexican Pepsi at a cheaper price than Ramune, and the former is better as well then some imported soda a weeb would gush over.

Ramune has very little flavor or sweetness to it. Besides the bottle and the manner in how you open it, Ramune is a very boring beverage to drink. Perhaps I'm just attuned to American sodas.

I eat a lot of instant noodles and I think it's what market they are made for makes the difference, Bachelors Super Noodles that are made for the domestic market are disgusting if you ask me but the ones from the Chinese Market that are 5 packs for £1 are thinner and come with better flavour packs (the ones in my area have little sachet of oil / garlic and a powdered base) and they are delicious, as I said it's the market they are made for makes the difference.

What kind of pizza do you normally have? An how's it cooked? Also sorry to sound like a bore but the flour has a lot to do with the texture of the base if it's over or under worked it can taste quite nasty.

Lobster I like but only every now and then, I am going to a restaurant this week and I am going to order some but mostly because they do this ravioli in a garlic sauce with it in that I love but when you see it sitting in the tank I cant help but think the same.

I might have to see for myself then. I've been to the pan-Asian supermarket in my area plenty of times, but I don't think I've ever bought ramen from there. (Slightly off-topic: they have these premade Chinese scallion pancakes that are very good. My family has bought them as a breakfast food for as long as I can remember. Of course they're made with palm oil, so I'm trying to find a different recipe.)
