CDU MP Dorothee Bär: Prostitution is a violation of human dignity!

Position papers are often written in a bureaucratic manner, but this speaks plain text: „ In prostitution, the woman is degraded to an object that can be bought like a commodity “, it says. And if you still haven't understood what the problem is, it will be clearly explained: „ Those affected very often experience the actions of the clients on their bodies as multiple rapes – combined with humiliating, painful practices that endanger physical and mental health. “ The milieu is „ deeply inhumane and especially contempt for women “.
Also the title of Position paper adopted by the CDU / CSU parliamentary group today, clearly states what MEPs are asking for: „ End inhumane conditions in prostitution – Punish sex buying! “

It is nothing less than a turning point. For the first time, a complete parliamentary group of the German Bundestag has spoken out in favor of a real paradigm shift in the catastrophic German prostitution policy. This policy has been a special path in recent decades, which many countries have increasingly shaken their heads at. The red-green prostitution reform has made Germany a country of entry for sex tourists and a paradise for brothel operators and pimps. The price for this is still paid by women in prostitution.
But that failed crashingly. This was last proven by the Federal Government's response to a small request from the Union Group in spring 2023: 50 (!) Women - out of at least 200,000 - were registered with the Federal Employment Agency subject to social security contributions.
It was supposedly the goal of the red-green „ prostitution reform “ from 2002, with the abolition of „ immorality “ to give prostitutes more rights and to establish prostitution as „ profession like any other “. Instead, brothel operators became normal "entrepreneurs" and pimps to „ managers “. EMMA had warned in vain that the reform would only benefit the profiteers, but not the prostitutes.
CDU / CSU FRACTION: PROSTITUTION MILIEU IS „ DEEPLY CONTEMPTIBLE FOR WOMEN “
„ The narrative of the ‚ profession like any other ‘ of prostitutes with their own home, health, pension and social security is thus clearly refuted “, now confirms the Union faction two decades later. Instead, large parts of the milieu are in the hands of organized crime and „ a six-digit number of girls and women in „ are factually total dependence on pimps “, based on „ emotional manipulation, deception, Threat and last but not least massive violence “.
The solution: „ No further alibi measures “ – like the completely toothless „ Prostitute Protection Act “ from 2017 – but the so-called „ Nordic Model “: Freier, those who first create the market for trade in the goods of women with their demand will be punished. At the same time, women are decriminalized in prostitution, so they have no fear of persecution by the authorities, and receive help to exit. In order for the model to work at all, these exit aids must be financially and financially soundly equipped.
MEP Maria Noichl, Amelia Tiganus and other survivors of prostitution in Brussels.
Sweden was the first country to declare prostitution to be a violation of human dignity in 1999, and many countries have followed since then, most recently Canada, France and Israel. „ There can be no real equality if hundreds of thousands of women are treated like slaves “, finally explains Christian Democrat Dorothee Bär, deputy group leader and initiator of the Union position paper. „ This is a violation of human dignity that we urgently need to end! “
The CDU / CSU Group's decision comes exactly eight weeks, after the EU Parliament had also declared: „ The prostitution system is inherently violent, discriminatory and deeply inhumane. “ The clients played a key role in this system „ “. That is why Brussels sent a clear message to Berlin: „ Demand must be reduced! “
CLEAR MESSAGE FROM BRUSSELS: "DEMAND MUST BE REDUCED!"
SPD MP Maria Noichl initiated the Brussels report. It was passed by parliament with a large majority and the votes of almost all social democrats (and rejected by almost all Greens - still haven't learned anything?). This gives hope that soon the SPD parliamentary group in the Bundestag –, which had played an inglorious role in the „ Prostitute Protection Act “ of 2017, will slowly understand –, what red-green did with the fatal reform of 2002.
EMMA tirelessly clarifies about the prostitution system right from the start since the first cover in 1980 repeatedly titled the scandal prostitution, conducted countless conversations with those affected and 2013 abolish the much-noticed call „ prostitution! “ launched. It is facilitating that the realization that prostitution is deeply contempt for women has now reached politics. If only after four decades.
CDU/CSU is the german center-right party. I guess the AFD is getting a little too popular for their liking.
