Underwater - Hollywood is exploring Lovecraft

So this movie is like a year old but ive actually enjoyed it a few times now and havent seen a thread on it. I believe this marks the second major Lovecraft hollywood film with The Mist being the first.

I dont want to spoil to much but its an interesting start to what could be a larger "universe". What do ye kiwis say?

I was decently surprised by Kristen Stewart and was only slightly annoyed by the comic relief guy trying to pull off a Ryan Reynolds act.

The ending seemed pretty final to me. Kristen and the thicc Asian running around in their underwear for the last ten minutes was a bonus.

The first couple will probably turn out okay, then they'll surely ruin it.

I'll have to check it out, I watched Personal Shopper fairly recently and was also surprised by Stewart.

UHM EXCUSE ME, there is the Reanimator series, which is based on Lovecraft
Also check out Call of Cuthulu from 2005- its a free movie made by fans, but its a good one- they've chosen to make it in the style of 1905 movie- silent, black'n'white and with limited special effects, so they did the best with the funds they had, actually very true to the early 20th century style and effect, looks like a lost horror movie from the era

They do the whole 'slideshow of news articles' and the Tian industries starts drilling again after covering up the 'incident'.

yea but its hard not to see the influence of lovecraftian thought in the mist.
