But you're saying pushing her to suicide wasn't evil?
Objectively, no.
Not with what she reveals about what she already knows, that she's always felt trapped and helpless, hardly living a life at all.
It's not evil, it's helping somebody to realise an uncomfortable truth. Let's use the Matrix for example, as it's a good point of comparison for this sort of thing (Fake world, weird glitches, Agents that exist to put down people realizing shit), you can live a comfortable, meaningless life entirely within the Matrix. Is freeing somebody from the Matrix and waking them up from that system evil?
Noelle wasn't trying to kill herself, no... I think it's more that Noelle can't kill herself. She can't die. She's too important to the prophecy for that. Or did you think nothing of the fact that if you stop proceeding (which actually makes the two of you drown), things just snap back to the normal route? Nothing changed. If Noelle is really as fucked in the head as her rant makes her seem, it's actually possible she has tried to kill herself already in the past.
My heart and actions are utterly unclouded.
The are all for the sake of Freedom.

I guess the future was predicted again,
There were a bunch of people that made a boss fight for a flower character. The Flowery thing isn't new btw. In Undertale, if you call Papyrus and Undyne in the hotel hallway Papyrus almost spills the beans that Flowey has been manipulating him in the current timeline and says "Flowery" to throw everyone off.

IIRC, Ralseis entrance in Chapter 5 was by Kris opening a cupboard, something that is represented as the menu later on in the 2D-Platformer-segments of the game. Ralsei says Flowery stuck him in there, but who knows. Ralsei isn't the most honest soul, and he hates that guy.
One thing that I found notable about that, is that the previous closets you open have a flavor text about being full of unnecessary stuff. So, Ralsie being stuffed in one is peculiar, and makes me wonder if the flavor text was trying to imply something there.

Also, topic unrelated song:
Just sharing it because I found it nice, and funny how people are already making fan stuff for a weird route only scene.

That aside.
The whole discussion on Chapter 5 feeling like it's out of sequence feels accurate, but I feel like it's setting things up for a big crash right after. Suselle being made canon in a very awkward way might be intentional, or it could just be shitty writing. Though there's enough, of what feel like hints or evidence, pointing to their 'relationship' being doomed from the start.

Considering all the potential interactions between the trio during the festival.
The potential outcomes at the hammers, at the ferris wheel, and at the voting booth.
Where Noelle reframes the childhood ferris wheel memory, her and Kris's interactions, and their apparent chemistry with the hammers.
I'd go so far as to say that we can't yet know for certain if Noelle is actually in love with Susie, or if she's just deluded herself into believing that Susie can do "Something crazy" for her, or just help her with motivation to do it herself. I'm fairly certain that Susie doesn't actually LOVE Noelle though, she feels like a person who's never received love finally getting a taste.
It's still possible Toby won't go that route, but I feel like the signs are pointing to Susie ruining the ship herself. What with living in the school closet ( :story: ).
And her obsession with the Dark worlds, and being a Hero, which will probably lead her down the Evil Susie route, as people here have been theorizing. It just feels like the most likely result of what we've been shown so far.

I imagine a good story leaves enough hints as to what will happen without stating it outright. The romance could very well have been written poorly intentionally, as to act as a distraction from what will actually happen, or a setup for a major plot point. There also being a meta veil of mystery/obfuscation, because Toby being who he is, from the part of the Internet he's from, acts as another misdirection for where the story could go. You expect a tublerite to write a tumbler story, you don't expect him to write something with that kind of a twist. Now do you? A tublerite intentionally setting up a yuri-ship to fail feels like an impossibility. So it would make for a very potent surprise if he does go through with it crashing and burning.
Then again, it could all just be cope. I hope it isn't though.

About that, I'm not sure what else could have been done to proceed (heh) with the ongoing breaking of Noelle, barring actual rape, physical or mental, in a purely evil route. Maybe devour her soul/use it for some nefarious purpose (like making a weapon)?

Provided that Toby Fox doesn't just scrap the weird route altogether, I literally see zero way that it could end outside of the final boss(s) being Susie and Ralsei or some shit. Susie 100% you're gonna have to kill, though. I have money on that.
That's the general feeling most people have had for years now. The WR is gonna end with Susie being this games Sans.

Tbh, even though Chapter 5 was easily the weakest out of everything so far, I'm still hype af for that. I'm definitely disappointed in how Chapter 5 did the weird route because it feels to me like it's a punishment for the whole Twitter rape theory crowd. "Fine, here's your precious fucking weird route, here's more Noelle. Now sit there and shut up until 2029."

As an aside, I got so excited when I saw Asgore in his armor, I genuinely thought that the hidden boss was gonna be like a reduxed Asgore or something like that. Unfortunately it was just that dumb anime cat thing that Alphys spergs about in Undertale.

Edit: Added spoiler.

The other thing I had in mind was this.
>released on November 4th 2023
I think that Gerson mentioned being the "hammer of justice" in UT during the war, but I am not sure.

Point is, seeing how active the fandom is, at least a few of them will hit the mark and create something that resembles whatever Toby puts out in the future. It's like the Simpsons, people fixate on them predicting Trump and 9/11 or whatever, but ignore the fact that most of their "predictions" didn't come true. That being said, I'm so used to seeing Dess being portrayed as a dark skinned rebellious tomboy in fan-arts that I am going to feel weird when it's actually revelealed that she's just an older Noelle.

Personally, I'm more hopeful for the idea that the WR ends with us basically being Sans trying to break free of a set future, and Susie being the aggressor desperate to get "fate" back on track.
I can't see Toby playing the "Woahm, just like Scrams Clungertale!" thing straight for Susie in the Weird Route. It's way too predictable.

Yeah, he mentioned it in his dialog. I think it's if you backtrack to him after beating Asriel. He mentions that Undyne used to follow him around when she was a kid, which gave the theory that she learned the green soul thing from him, which Chapter 4 confirmed.

Given the rampant faggotry, all the choices for Pizzapants were the opposite of what I expected. If you choose Bratty, then Pizzapants really likes her to the point where she’s sincerely moved and agrees to go on a date with him. If you choose Catty, then hearing him get emotional over Pizzarina makes her emotional and she takes him on a date. If you choose the Nice Cream Guy? Well…

He crashes the fuck out, they stop being friends, Nice Cream Guy stops being Bratty’s friend since she made him do all that, and everyone’s miserable :story:

Also, the milk carton guy says “the truth hurts, but it may lead to the best outcome”.

So he runs a publicly traded company? All the copyright informations says that Deltarune is a trademark of Toby Fox (2018-2026). I see no companies attached, let alone publicly traded ones.
There's probably some fuckery over who owns the IP but Toby's company is called Royal Sciences LLC.
Someone in my Steam family has this game, and I'm tempted to try it since I liked Undertale. Would you guys say it's worth playing?
Go for it ...but you should know the rule by now: There's no guarantee that it doesn't nosedive and fuck everything up.
I'm convinced it's fucked but you're guaranteed at least 4 chapters of a good game. Maybe treat it like an old RPG Maker demo that was never completed.

(It's probably just a Chrono Trigger reference but that doesn't rule out any plot relevance)

I thought orange was a super adorable character for OBVIOUS reasons. The shadow puppetry and small rat syndrome and crybullying were so good. Orange best best. I feel like some of you are boiling over quite a bit and the angry ranting is crazy but i understand the sentiment of too much gay shit. I fully am on board with Kris and Noelle being the knight as an amalgamate and some weird loop going on. Essentially a twisted form of their eternal love etc etc. I do have hope for the future chapters
