Flowery was based and his last stand against the Knight was pretty great.
I really enjoyed the comparison and contrast of everything around Flowery and Flowey.

Flowey
absorbs and uses the human souls. Flowery fights alongside the "human" flowers as siblings.

Flowey preaches about the world being "kill or be killed" and is very nihilistic. Flowery and the others are literally in a "kill or be killed" situation, where they will cease to be once the fountain is sealed, and they will put up a last stand.

Also, Flowery clashing with Ralsei about who deserves to keep their fountain was Kino.

I was thinking about Mother 3 again, and remembered how the game started. Everyone loves in peace with the monsters on the island, with the protagonist seen playing with the big t-rex monsters, and their babies, and having fun. But, the Pork Masks kidnap one of the dinosaurs, and experiment on it, causing it to kill a human.

I'm not saying it's analogous to Delta Rune... But there's one missing monster, and a human that it's implied was experimented on.

Could someone explain the whole "Ralsei is actually a girl" shit? Sounds like absolute nonsense to me.
An excuse to call him a "they", for some reason. Even though he sounds like a man, looks like a man (sort of), and acts like a man.

When you combine everything to together, it all seems to point to Susie not actually giving a shit about Noelle at all. She's just desperate for her because she loves the idea of someone who loves her.
Well yeah, but hecking lesbians!
Also, in the previous chapter Noelle dumped her childhood friend in front of Sus and the latter doesn't even call her out despite Kris being friend of both.

to pull a reversal and have you needing to shut it all down at the very end for the sake of Susie's mental health or something
That's been implied since Chapter 2. Since there's no apparent limit on who can open Fountains and how many (until Titans spawn, sure), the Castle one will probably be the final one, as it seems to be the "main" Fountain connecting to all others. If only so that the plot can end.

No, I don't think it has anything to do with Ralsei going to troon out, that's retarded.
Wait for future chapters then.

nd the fact they're silent I think is why people here aren't complaining about them much or even like them.
*He.
There are only two genders and using a plural for a singular is dumb.

Personally, I find the idea of prime Gerson in Undertale smashing Seth to paste with a comically large hammer and then selling their shit in his shop to the next human he meets to be extremely fucking funny.
I don't recall if Gerson killed that child himself or if he stumbled upon the remains.
magine if only ch6 releases and it covers the normal route. If you picked weird route, tough shit, wait until ch7. Maybe even longer.
That's kinda a given. Chapter 6 won't have evil route content, barring surprises. The end of this chapter tells you so. That being said, I think that Nintendo is losing its patience with Toby and that's why the date for Chapter 6 was updated in a hurry.

Speaking of updates: If you killed titanspawn in the previous chapter, it counts as if you hurt/didn't recruit all monsters so that Jack is considered dead. Was this bug fixed?

Shame every chapter must have one-use gimmicks. I would like to have targeted attacks back, as from Chapter 2 forward, all enemy attacks are seemingly party-wide, so healing items that heal the entire team always beat the other types.

I also recall reading somewhere that someone could mod in a healthier romance path in the game once the full game is out, depending on how the story goes. Big kek. That mod would be banned everywhere in seconds.
Like that one mod for that Spider-Man game that literally just replaced the texture of some fag flags in the game and the Nexusmods staff had such a huge fucking melty over it that you're basically banned from posting any mod that modifies those flags in the game there anymore. :story:
That entire situation still irks me even now and I wish more people would see how abysmally retarded it was. It annoys me even more when they try to do the "No U" tactic with shit like "The argument goes both ways, chud. :smug:" uh no? No it doesn't. One party isn't absolutely SEETHING and perma-banning someone from the site for posting a fucking texture mod. I'd ask you to guess which one it is but if you're retarded enough to genuinely make that argument I don't think you can figure it out. *sigh*

Susie could even be something that would meta-wise be like a modded-in character, somebody who was never actually supposed to exist or at least be a party member, but somebody changed the rules of the game to add her in.
I remember someone commenting on a video mocking Sonic fanfiction that everybody kept killing off Tails (if they weren't trying to have sex with him) so that they could be Sonic's best friend.
Just an interesting point of comparison.
if you have him write down his and Noelle's names for the King/Queen vote then Noelle will decide to change her vote to Kris instead of Susie ("I still think they deserve to win.")
Ah, shit. The dialogue for putting "Susie" as both answers was really fucking funny.
Imagine if only ch6 releases and it covers the normal route. If you picked weird route, tough shit, wait until ch7. Maybe even longer.
The chances of all of all the yuri shit in ch5, including the preparation for Noel arrival, being discarded in a fakeout are pretty low.
Personallt I'm betting on ch6 being created exclusively so that Toby can ship the Dino and the Doe every second both are on screen, while all the revelation are delegated into ch7.
If he's taking a nose dive right after high note, might as well go for gold.
I saw this horrific post on /v/ of someone joking that Chapter 6 will be a shitty Christmas episode at Noelle's house and I can't get it out of my head.

It didn't even do that. It just enabled an internal setting intended for the middle eastern version.

Oh, I think I get it. The "true" dark world is under the lake. The source image for the dark fountains is a body of water. The dark fountains are literal fountains, and focusing your determination into a single point as you strike the earth is like turning on a high power magnet that draws the darkness out from its source. Kris and Noelle don't "clip out of" anything, they just fall into the roots of the dark world.

Add that to the list of Mother 3 parallels, with the Nowhere Islands being on top of the dragon, which is freed by pulling the needles.

("I still think they deserve to win.")
When the power of a childhood romance momentarily manages to break through the power of Gaster's Lesbian Brainwashing.
I really do wonder what it was that drove Noelle and Kris apart.
Probably something to do with Dess and Asriel not being around. (There is no fucking COLLEGE. There is no world outside Hometown. Gaster's goons turned that poor fucker into a stew)
Imagine upsetting the mystery nigga so much that he cucks your little brother out of his childhood crush and then turns her into a lesbian.

Dude it's Woody.

It's just Woody. Or Flint, if you have good taste.
1782645803921.jpeg
The weirdo you posted doesn't even have a hat.
Woody theory aside, any cowboy character can be inspiration for another cowboy character.

It's the perfectly rectangular face + tall lanky + personality combo. Toby just needed "a cowboy" while the troon/guest designers got wiggle room to come up with whatever they thought worked.

Don't know if anyone said it in this thread since I just popped in on this page, but I think Green is based off of something too. That design is way too familiar. Then again, all I know Toby Fox for is copying things others did in all of his various works, so I can't exactly be surprised.
Yeah, I've definitely seen a similar looking character before, but I can't quite figure out who. I'd say if it were Splendidland, he would had to have been influenced by Peyo (Smurfs creator) or other artists of the older eras.

Overall, I actually liked it more than I disliked it, but I'm merely cautiously optimistic at best about what futures chapters might do because I have no idea where Toby wants to take the shipping drama.
I finished the chapter yesterday myself. I pretty much agree with your post. I was surprised by how big this dark world turned out to be by the end. I enjoyed the bit of nostalgia baiting mainly because chapter 1 dropped just months before I had my first kid, so it was nice to remember those times through the music and some of the similar visuals and gameplay. Ralsei’s back and forth with Flowery was a highlight for me, seeing him answer Flowery’s questions to to him about various aspects of the dark world he’s still not telling the whole truth about as well as him actually attacking Flowery, something he’s not done to anything but the Titan and Knight until now. I also loved the slide scrolling segments, especially the last major room where they work as a team and just start doing what they need to do without Kris prompting them.

I’m betting that people like us (who took some time to beat the chapter) as warmer to this chapter than the day-1 people because we gave it time to simmer. I can’t imagine enjoying it much if I was speeding through everything to be “first.”

Edit: I’m interested in where the Noelle angle is going to go next chapter. Flowery seemed to imply that this would be the last chapter we get to relax before it gets serious.

Whatever 'paper trail' Asriel sends back to Hometown is actually just Gaster entering prompts into Chat-GPT (Gaster Pre-trained Transformer) and giving to Toriel and Asgore to keep up the illusion sounds like a wonderful deranged theory, but then why 'kill' Dess if we can puppet Asriel's memory with vagueposts (like father like son)

seeing him answer Flowery’s questions to to him about various aspects of the dark world he’s still not telling the whole truth
I just want to know how much Flowery knows. He said the others spent their whole lives as flowers, but we, the player, know that isn't true.

If my Mother 3 theory is right, then someone in town remembers (I think it's sans), but it's interesting that Flowery doesn't seem to, entirely. He's still aware of stuff, and has a strange power that he shouldn't have (how did he give himself 999 in stats, and free money?), but... He's off from what you'd expect him to be, post-Undertale. Why is he hopeful? Why wasn't he hopeful in Undertale, what's different now?

I thought there was going to be some twist to him, that he's still hateful and pessimistic about change at the end of the chapter, giving us the good old "friendliness pellets"... But he never actually fires any bullets at us.

Green was my favorite flower that wasn’t Flowery. She really did steal the show and she was very charming.
The instant I saw that design I wondered if it was Splendidland or not. I've been exposed to their art in passing and they've got an extremely specific style and make tons of stuff along those lines that comes off as both nonoffensive cute and non-gross. Probably the one outsider pull other than muffet that fits the world.

Susie actually being a Flowey tier fake friend would be an incredible twist, I'd actually kneel.
My crack theory is that Susie is both human and the person the soul came from originally. Chapter 6 is going to have some bunker/lab bullshit where we find out that Alphys was dicking around with vessels and moving souls around and fucked Susie's body up but nobody really noticed because of how weird and varied monsters are in general. It'd explain the blood and the repeated bits about her having a tail (iirc this chapter's mention is straight up a line like 'humans are supposed to have tails aren't they?' referring to herself) but given the sloppiness of the writing this chapter it's hard to tell if that's supposed to be important or not.

It's extremely unlikely but it'd be a fun setup to have both kris and susie be separated halves of the same character and could lead to some actual fun/cool story setup and betrayal in the endgame.

How long has this guy been making this game?
Game-maker slop type mechanics, a significant part of each chapter is always recyclable (some if not all elements of castle town, the actual town), what is taking so long on "making" the game?
You're telling me when the fucking final chapter comes out, it will have been ten years?
And for what?
Half of these fucking guys you interact in most of the chapters you'll never see again, the other half is split into stuff that does not actually matter and vague-post stuff which will either only be explained at the end or won't at all.

Chapter 5 basically tells you nothing after the reveals in Carol's home and is made for sodomites to stroke their cock to.
Trvly kino writing, I kneel to the limp wristed coding god Toby Fox.

I was replaying Chapter 3 just now to finish a Weird Route save file, somehow it took me around more than 6 tries to kill the Shadow Mantle boss but somehow I no hit the Knight except for it's final attack (I still got that unique text though). In any case, if anyone can no hit the Knight, then I'm sure the inevitable rematch will be very easy.
Unlike the genocide route, I don't think the reason to do the snowgrave route is for the "shits and giggles" like in Undertale. The Chapter 7 ending is going to be unsatisfying, so Snowgrave will be us attempting to do something about it.
Gerson mentions that he likes 'going the wrong way', as he can get 'better' ideas that way. This is possible, but there might be something we can learn in the Weird Route that can help unlock a different ending.

I'm still on my mother 3 shit, and...I forgot about the sunflower fields. Chapter 6. It's the shortest chapter in the game, out of 8, and it's just Lucas and his dog walking through a field of sunflowers, until they see a ghost, which they follow...and accidentally jump off a cliff trying to get to. Stripped of context, it sounds harrowing. But it's a friendly ghost, I just don't feel like spoiler tagging.

Obviously, we just went through a whole flower-themed chapter, but it's the weird route that's got my noggin joggin. If the weird route has a spot in chapter 6, I wonder if it'll draw inspiration from mother 3. We know what ghost they could be following, at least.
