It's also not 100% in player's face in a sense that it's build mostly on hints that make it possible to read the relationship as either some slimy partnership or obsession based on personal gain, especially if you ignore optional content. (Although, that as well can be interpret in many ways.) Remove cartoony graphics and put it into some live action show and it will only be shippable to totally brainrotten fujos who ship Walter and Jessie from Breaking Bad. Although, I wouldn't have minded this, as bizarre as it is, it's basically just a fandom activity for, uh, fun? See, the thing that bothers me about woke media is that it's made by dumb people who took their fanfiction too seriously and in a wrong way while growing up. And now these people assume that the best way to approach the fandom is to give it whatever it wants, especially (poisoned)politically-wise. The whole aspect of "fun" in the context of shipping is that it's not canon, it doesn't take away anything from canon, nor really adds to it. Ships being non-explicit/non-existent in the canon was that made it fun. Same goes to insane headcanons and AUs in general. End result? Pozzed slop, canon that doesn't deliver properly and leaves bad taste in your mouth.

Steven Universe started this trend, and Deltarune Chapter 5 is like the trend on steroids. Like, seriously, a literal niggerfaggot? Instead of a normal ballerina? That's not what I imagined the kid from Undertale to be like. I know it's been pointed out multiple times, but come on. It's like a cherry on top at this point. I actually initially assumed it's a blocky woman until the pronouns started to drop. Because it's THAT absurd.
Want to add onto that that I prefer Spamton and Tenna's relationship whatever it may be to not be clarified for the reasons you stated. Shipping is better when left as subtext or potential possibilities than making anything canon.

Okay, either I'm retarded or I found something mildly interesting.

The way the save file system works in Deltarune is that your three main saves are stored in files called filechX_Y, where X is the current chapter and Y is 0 for slot 1, 1 for slot 2, and 2 for slot 3. When you complete the game, you also get a completion save called filechX_Z, where X is the current chapter and Z is 3 for slot 1, 4 for slot 2, and 5 for slot 3. Additionally, every time you beat the game, you get filechX_9 which just stores your most recent completion no matter what slot it was done in. Finally, in chapter 5, beating the weird route gives you filech5_Z_b and filech5_9_b.

In chapters 1-4, you can rename your completion files and load into them (for example, renaming filech1_3 into filech1_0). It seems to just put you at whatever save point you last saved at before beating the game, as expected. You can also try to load things that aren't Deltarune save files, and each chapter handles that differently. Chapter 2 boots you back to the opening cinematic of the legend, while the other chapters each have a unique animation featuring the annoying dog.

I'm finally getting to my discovery: in chapter 5, attempting to load completion files also triggers the failsafe annoying dog animation. However, this time, the animation is accompanied by silly music, which doesn't happen when trying to load invalid files. This happens with both weird route and aborted weird route completion saves. I don't have a normal save file to test this on so I can't tell you what that one does.

Either I'm fucking something up somewhere and just wasted a bunch of time writing up this post, or Toby does NOT want us messing around with completed chapter 5 saves.

And again Berdly dosen't have any romantic interests like incest or that cater to the author's other fetishes. BerdlyGODS stay winning
>Berdley shows that he's more than willing to date Kris (technically enby) if given the option
>Seth (also enby) is heavily implied to be into him and gets bribed by Kris with one of his feathers

Hate to burst your bubble, but Berdly might be chasing that they/them pussy.

Mononnoying Dog is just this chapter's Dogcheck. Someone posted it on twitter.
It comes as standard whenever your save file is truly epic fail, all the way back to UNDERTALE.

Wait a minute
Toby keeps pushing the throuple thing
Is... Kris really going to get Susie AND Noelle???
Remember what Chapter 3 told us. Throuples don't work, two is better than three.

Oh god!
My schizo instincts are tingling, and now I'm going to go for the "new timeline" theory.
Where the shadow crystals allow Kris to see the prior timeline before Susie pulled some major bullshit, because think about it... Susie acts almost like a fucking fix-it fic self insert protagonist who steals the girl from the actual protagonist no matter how little sense it makes.
Tenna is also 100% meant to die but Susie could fix him, Jackenstein too.
Then there's shit like:
  • For some strange reason, for a brief moment, it looked like...
  • Everyone else disappeared...
  • ... and you saw Noelle smiling at you, with arms full of flowers.
and
You thought you saw Noelle close against you, whispering

For Noelle
and
You thought you saw Susie glaring at you, coldly...
or
You thought you saw Susie in a far-off window, unkempt and glaring.
For Susie
This is all to say, Susie is either responsible or a symptom of somebody altering the timeline in order to change the past and future that Kris was meant to have, a lost dream indeed. This purple dinosaur cunt self-inserted herself into KRIS' life to REPLACE him, and the prophecy, which is noted as being unchangeable even in the shadow crystal is fucked up and is forcing Noelle to now feel things for Susie, instead of Kris. (Where the world is confused and there are still moments of perfect synchronicity for Noelle and Kris like the compatibility tester, yet when Susie does it with her, she needs to force things all by herself.) Now, this could be schizobabble, you could even call it cope, but if Toby pulls this off and makes Susie the actual villain I will laugh for a solid ten minutes straight.
Flay this purple dinosaur nigger. She's one of those fucking Goners. I know it, I just can't prove it.

Yeah I get that, but even my completed save files? I tested around, and completed save files didn't trigger dogcheck in the previous chapters.

So by this point, its pretty much set in stone that the Chapter 6 Dark World is going to be in Holiday Manor, right?
  • Susie's going there to talk to Noelle about the Dark Worlds.
  • Rudy's dead, so his dust is probably there while they prep his funeral
  • We know there's a code in Dess' guitar, but we only know that it starts with "1-2-2-". Considering the Chapter 5 code includes a year, we know its more than just 4 digits.
I'm predicting the big conflict of Chapter 6 be that the Dark World brings Rudy back to life, but because we need to seal all the fountains, we effectively have to rekill Rudy. Putting Susie and Noelle at odds with each other. Whether that sticks or Noelle forgives Susie at the end of Chapter 6 or at the start of Chapter 7, we'll have to see.

There are still threesome jokes at the start of chapter 5. It could work if the two were part of Kris' battle slave harem, but it ain't that kind of work.

The "fell down" mention could be he literally fell down the stairs, or he fell down and is close to death. Either way, I don't think he's going to die, not immediately at least.

That sounds too cool for it to happen, though if Rudy isn't the Knight it would be cool to see Rudy vs the Knight, or if he is but we still somehow we get a mirror match of the Knight fighting itself, that'd be weird and cool.

My theory is Toby was going to pull the same shit as Omori and then changed it by going "fuck it, we ball. gaster deeplore shit lmao" and added the vessel and device stuff. Could even have the same ending he envisioned originally since he would've always conceived it through a cuhrayzee anime bullshit lens instead of the "im Asian and my parents abused me" lens omocat has

If only we could summon a Ladder Darkner to kill the Knight.
The next Dark World has to take place in either the Holiday Manor or the Town Hall, and them shits have to have one ladder at the least. We can knock out Rudy and unmask him like it's a Scooby Doo mystery. Of course not after Susie takes Noelle 'up to the bedroom' while us and Kris re-enact Shaggy and Scooby running from some monstrous Christmas-derived entity in the basement.
