I think the running consensus is that, some way or another, the knight remains the knight in the light world, since the black shard from its sword stays a black shard in the light world.
The knight could very well be covered in a giant shadow crystal cocoon for all we know. The SCs seem to have a really strange relationship with the boundary between worlds anyway. Looking through one in the dark world reveals a glimpse of the real world wherever the fountain is set up and they stay the same even when you take them back to the real world, appearing as a piece of black glass.
Which also explains why the twisted sword, a blade literally made of shadow crystals, and the Knight's sword are the only weapons that can outright kill darkeners. You're literally cutting through the delusion with reality.

This is something I've been thinking about at some point, but I don't think it would be because of Noelle "being only a love interest" (she still plays a role in the story) moreso because Suselle would be a story about a girl falling head over heels for the "bad boy" bully because of his looks or something along those lines while barely interacting with him. And don't forget she had fantasies of Susie pushing her and laughing at her while blushing all over the place when telling it to Kris.

What if Noelle betrays Kris after she joins the gang and fucks him over in some way so she can "keep" Susie now that she has her, revealing the crazier personality that was up until that point hidden away by her outside of the WR? Because her dialogue in the WR reveals that she feels this way even in the Normal route, she just feels trapped with "being Noelle" in that one so she never lets the mask slip.

what if the flowers would've just been recolors of lightners and the chapter would've revolved around how the asgore perception of his family, friends, etc and the expectations he had of them if and when he gets to reveal what the dark fountains are. with said flowers pushing him deep into the delusions of the dark world to "keep finding clues" as a way to cope for the disappearance of Dess in a safe place where everyone loves him.
I bet that this was the original plan, then it got changed at some point. Aqua is pretty clearly based on Kris' younger self, Flowery seems to be somewhat based on Asgore's distant memories of Rudy from college, and given the older sibling dynamic she has with Aqua and the fact that we know Asriel is a nerd, Seth was likely a stand-in for Asriel before Toby randomly decided to turn her into Female Berdly.
These three flowers that map to existing lightners are coincidentally the ones that Toby himself designed, the rest just being guest characters. It also could have worked since there were seven of them, so there could be one for each Dreemurr and Holiday family member minus Asgore.
TBH even Earthbound is mid if you don't play Mother first to get the context of how it's a tragedy, its main selling point is Giygas reveal being a "WHAT THE FUCK IS THAT THING" moment

Same here. I liked reading about Earthbound more than playing it. Never really clicked with me. But Mother 3 did -- followed the translation effort from the first day until release.
