Everyone knows what Kris' real gender is, some just pretend they don't. Especially the Hetslop Police, you can tell they know whenever you bring up Krusie or Kriselle or the Weird Route. He's a faabulous quirky theything unless he's interacting with a female character, in which case he is a horrible oppressive straight white male.

lukerfuffle made a video about chapter 5, main thesis of which is that the festival has ties to the delta rune religion, possibly being the day of the roaring. but i have a different speculation

it's the day when love finds it's way to the girl. hence the ferris wheels and romantic context

toby is a faggot? why all of my expectations of chapter 5 are being shattered across time and space? it genuinely feels like this chapter is going to be really bad

i have a million different copes on how the chapter might not be awful, and the current one i'm leaning towards is Susie realizes that noelle coming onto her is part of the prophecy and has an autistic meltdown at her.

It could be a bright light of some kind, or if the dark world is outside it may be the sun itself.
Remember that in chapter 3 Kris turns the TV on before opening the dark world, and the light from the screen floods the room and makes a lot of the dark world rather bright actually, it's only the edges under and around the TV that are dark in the dark world.
So dark worlds can be affected by light sources in the same room, I guess is what I'm saying.

i think it's so funny that they internally think of kris as a he and refuse to ever interpret him as a woman, that they will instinctively call a ship hetslop thus implying "i think kris is a male," but the moment you say "i think kris is a male" they jump to the deltarune.wiki to point out that ACTUALLY they go out of their way to depict kris in both male and female clothing meaning he's nonbinary. the occam's razor response to this, of course, is "that sounds more like kris is supposed to be whatever gender you think he is" but they won't accept that either. sorry chud the fifty nine citations and counting say "they" which means it could only mean he is nonbinary.

funnier alternative: susie thinks noelle is coming onto kris, so she goes out of her way to fake flirt with him to avoid the prophecy

Hits too close to home. At least Noelle has an excuse of Kris being the one who abruptly cut contact, presumably right after and sometime soon after the dessapearance. Little tidbits here and there show that she does indeed want him back even when she tries to woo the dino, but how much of that is just the dog throwing us scraps and how much would actually amount to anything we wouldn't know. Given Toby's track record, I'm cautiously pessimistic.

Still, a man can dream.

They really neutered the Knight fight, huh? With Chapter 5 looming, I went back to get the egg in Chapter 3 since I missed it back at launch, which I had put off since it would require redoing the knight fight. Now with the nerf, it took me less than a dozen tries to beat the Knight again, despite going straight for it with no warmup.

Some of it is muscle memory from learning the best way to dodge the bullet patterns, but most of it is just that it's definitely easier now. I'm glad I didn't have to struggle as much as the first time, but it does miss some of the impact it had before when it ball-blisteringly hard. I'm glad I got to beat it back in its original form.
