There's usually one in every chapter poking fun of fans for trying to be engaged.
Most of the early area, the garden section, of the Chapter 5 Dark world feels like a dig at the fans for wanting chapter 1 elements back.
I get why in universe it made sense for Ralsie to be forced into wearing his hat again, but it feels like a dig at anyone wanting hat-ed Ralsie back.
That he used a remake of 'Field of hopes and dreams', now called 'Garden of hopes and dreams', also feels like a dig at the fans.
It's even funnier when you realise that all (most) of the flowers basically represent the opposite of their emotion in one way or another.
I get that you're using the soul colors and their meaning for the flowers. But I think that at this point, it might just be that the soul colors are unrelated to how things are in Deltarune.
Imagine that Undertale never released, or you never heard of Soul colors and their meaning, could you make the same assumption then?
I don't think soul colors have any relation to how things are in the world of Deltarune, that it was an Undertale only thing.
Same for the Determination and Saves. Why would it
have to be the same in both universes/games?
Because it's the same guy making the new game?
To me, at this point, so many things people have taken from Undertale and tried applying to Deltarune were proven to be wrong, that I believe it must be a misdirect.
Sure, elements are similar, even the characters are similar. Key word:
similar.
So tell me, how many things taken from Undertale were, or are, actually true/accurate in Deltarune?
And specifically, how many, if any, had actual plot relevance?
Anyway. I'm still of the belief that chapter 5 was a setup for the mother of all crashes next chapter.
I believe that Suselle was intentionally a poor ship here, and it will result in either: Noelle and Susie becoming enemies, or a drawn out teenage-relationship spat.
Personally I think they'll become enemies, as Noelle's view of Susie changes, and Susie gets disappointed by Noelles reaction.
I know there is immense doubt of that happening. What with Toby being close with tublerites , but I think it was setup perfectly for exactly that.
Susie and Noelle having only gotten to talking in the past 2 days. They're both ignorant of each others quirks, interests, and I feel like they both have an image of the other that's very wrong. Kris honestly having better chemistry with either of them. Susie having decided that the school closet is now her home, and apparently having decided that Dark worlds are now her new reality.
It makes me wonder, if the prophecy panel Susie broke said something about closing ALL of the fountains, even Castletown, and she just couldn't accept that, which is why she broke the panel and cut her hand. The final scene certainly seems to indicate that she's come to see it as her home, and she might be staking her everything on the fantasy staying there for her.
There's a part of me that's suspecting that Kris might be trying to redirect the prophecy onto Susie, and that the tragedy mentioned might be related to that.
If I turn out to be wrong I'll seethe, but for now I'll just cope with my theory(-ies).
A random thought I just had. If the prophecy forces things to happen, like world rewrite kind of force. Could it turn Susie into a human, or a human-monster hybrid, which is why she bled? Probably not. Just a very out there thought I decided to share, feel free to ignore it.
