A McDonald's restaurant has banned everyone under the age of 18 from entering the premises after 5pm. The fast food restaurant chain confirmed earlier this week that any under-18s who are not accompanied by an adult will be turned away after this time.

The McDonald's branch on Church Street in Liverpool say the decision was made as "the anti-social behaviour is a nightmare". A spokesperson for the popular fast food restaurant said this was because of a number of incidents of anti-social behaviour in the area and employees being "subjected to verbal and physical abuse", the ECHO reports.

The decision to impose the restrictions is currently temporary, with one eyewitness telling the ECHO about the chaotic scenes as security guards turned away customers. The person previously told the ECHO : "As I was leaving the security guard stopped a man he believed to be a teenager and told him they weren't allowing people under 18 into the restaurant after 5pm without an adult with them.

"The man told the security guard he was in his 20s so he apologised and explained that the new company policy meant he couldn't let groups of teens in on their own. I was in town the night before and there were large groups of kids all over Liverpool One and they were moved on a number of times by security near the cinema and in Chavasse Park."

A McDonald's spokesperson said: "Over recent weeks, we have seen an increase in the number of incidents of anti-social behaviour in the area with our people being subjected to verbal and physical abuse. We have a zero-tolerance policy when it comes to crime and anti-social behaviour, and have temporarily restricted restaurant access to U18s from 5pm.

"This decision was not taken lightly and we are working closely with the police to find a resolution and help reduce these incidents."

My money is on chavs.

My next bet, based on this article, is this will do nothing helpful They're already letting in lone people without ID checks, it's just the hordes they'll tell to fuck off. Who depending on how bored they are will scream abuse in the street outside for the next two hours while gobbing on everyone going in or out of the McDonalds or they'll brick in the windows. Maybe stab the security guard.

it's unlikely to be nogs, liverpool is 91% white, and not american white (spics)
there's always gangs of chavvy kids hanging around outside this place and then on weekend you get everyone pouring out of the bars pissed up so it's a great place to see fights

it's pretty weird when mcdonalds have to hire bouncers
it really depends on the ward. the last time I was in liverpool (admittedly it's been quite a while) they were all clustered into 2-3 wards, so if its in one of them it might not be chavs.

I want to say it's ye olde imported children. But as others have commented, could be those trashy chav crotchfruits as well.

Its a restaurant, that literally caters to kids of all ages to the point they serve happy meals

This is a lawsuit waiting to happen
Maybe but probably not. Shops all over the place restrictions on kids. Corner shops and smaller supermarkets will have signs up saying “X number of school children at a time” due to theft and restaurants will often make groups of teenagers and kids to pay for their food upfront to avoid dine and dash situations.
