Umamusume: Pretty Derby - Horse fuckers and gacha addicts get sent to the glue factory

At this point, I just want to pull 1 Light Hello SSR before pity & then I grab a 2nd copy with pity. Knowing my luck though, the game will give me 1 Agnes instead.

Harsh. I have good luck in bad luck with the event cards apparently. Unity I got more Rice than Riko, and here I got 4 Lights with 0 Agnes. Guess I get the cards good during thing but not after thing. Had to do another 18 for the pity MLB but saved a rainbow item and keeps the borrow open. Maybe the game felt bad because I got reamed trying to get some recent Umas.

The Biwa card does look pretty decent. Always nice when a freebie is usable, better if it's outright actually good. I might consider skipping the Super Creek rerun if I don't fuck up maxing it somehow. Need 2 more copies to max Creek, not sure if it's worth this late. Although maybe I can get 1 and use a rainbow item. Not sure I have anything else old worth pushing.

Meanwhile I've had insane luck and gotten 1lb Light and a single copy of Agnes (so far).

Is stamina Creek better than power Rice, considering they both give Maestro.

I have done nothing but loop white sparks since auto careers came out and it's great. I don't miss doing this by hand. Also the dirt cm is looking to be a double dom fest for stamina. There's no downhill to preserve stam, and no more free 600 guts a run, so you're gonna need long distance stam (800-1000k depending on stlye) with a gold to survive.

You only MLB cards that will last you in 2+ scenarios as a F2P (Sane person). Most youtubers talk about MLB for content.
I could do a 2LB card tierlist someday

I sort of want to get started with this, but don't I gotta run 10 instances of this game on an emulator and roll until I get whoeverthefuck for an entire day?
No, there are budget builds and free cards that pop up every few weeks. You can also borrow a single card from friends which is what people generally do to get the stronger cards. As for the Umas themselves you can generally just run whoever if you don't care about being competitive about anything

I guess I'm just wondering where to draw the line. Like if I just roll for 3 hours I could make as much "progress" as I would have by just selecting my first pull and playing for a month or whatever
What's efficient?
I remember getting the bottom garbage tier Servants in FGO and coping for months so I suppose I have some PTSD

Depends on how competitive you want to be, if you only want to see your uma get big numbers then you only need a good speed card such as Summer Maruzensky, Kitasan Black or this current Agnes Tachyon (at MLB)

I know embarrassingly little about the game
Does it have a story? Or something else besides being up high on a leaderboard? I'm assuming that's what you mean by being competitive
Does it have framing? If so, then I'd obviously want to reroll because of the snowball effect (powerful lineup farms better gets more powerful more quickly)

Nah its cool, when we mean "competitive" its usually about the PVP gamemode of the game.
There are a total of three gamemodes in this game: Career mode, Team trials, and Champion's meetings:

Career mode is where you train your uma, you get to see her stats go up with your decisions and if you do well, you get a high ranking. Consider it the PVE gamemode, you got your uma stories, scenarios and events, its like an interactive VN.
Team Trials is using those umas to create teams that then race against other player's teams, Champion's meetings are the same, but in smaller size and more competitive (since the reward are the exclusive currency)

So instead of "Level up your character to fight harder stages" what you are doing is "Pull in the gacha card banner to get a better training rating in career mode" so yeah, very casual, you're looking to beat your career high scores when you're F2P, while champion meetings and TT are usually more for the whales.
You can boot up the game now and pull for the current banner which has a strong Speed card that will definetly help your deck, you'll only need like 3 to 5 copies to be super busted.

To add to this, I'm pretty sure you still get the insane amount of free carrots from all the early signup bonuses and stuff. I'm pretty sure you get like 16k free carrots gifted to you when you first start out, which if you use them smartly can be a nice little boost.
