In what way is this blatant provocation of the Russian Federation in my or any other American citizen's interest? Yes, the Russians would get clowned on in a strictly conventional war assuming we were actually willing to mobilize the military and go into Ukraine to fight the russkies there, but the problem is two fold; firstly, the war would not remain conventional for long, and secondly; even if it did, we'd be wasting money, time and lives for basically nothing.
The soviet union is dead, and there is no need to fuck around in a country that is basically Russia's backyard.
