For all the potential Ugandan memes they could have chosen...making fun of their accent is pretty tame. People need to no dee way.

This is the way it goes with every meme the SJWs find offensive. Something completely unrelated to racism, sexism, or whatever else is called out over social media by these hypersensitive freaks. All this does is allow trolls to uncover yet another one of their weak spots and hijack the meme as yet another alt-right symbol they can trigger SJWs with. This is the way it was with Pepe, the floppy pidgeon, and even freaking milk.

All they had to do was calm down and wait for the meme to die naturally.

It's not even like they're belittling them or calling them stupid or something. It might be racist if Knuckles ran around grunting like a caveman and saying unga bunga but they're just doing an accent. No commentary on the actual people of Uganda just imitating their accent because it's a fun accent to imitate

The folks on the VRChat subreddit aren't very cool with the meme either. It's like every single person attacking the meme is using that one Ugandan furry as the voice of Africa, and as undeniable proof the meme is racist and evil. That's a little bit racist.

I hope VRchat lets the Ugandan Knuckles meme continue as is, it would be pretty sad if VRchat snapped and suddenly became an elitist hellhole like Second Life.
 
I find it interesting that these same people who are screeching about racism are the same people who will cheerfully insist that Uganda needs to adopt policies regarding homosexuals that white people dictate to them.

I suppose it matters not, as long as there is virtue to signal.

To be fair, most of the subreddit is still filled with these memes and raid requests with little complaints other than "the meme is annoying now", so most of the players are still relatively chill when compared to the virtue signalers.
