What do you guys think is the worst fanbase on TV Tropes? I say bronies. Just go to the MLP page. You will see my point.
It's very hard to pinpoint a "worst".
There's a bunch of high-profile fanbases in there that all fit the bill, ponyshit included.
But I'll agree with AnOnimous, I absolutely despise the fanfic fags in there. I have my own doubts about individual fanfictions even deserving any sort of dedicated page, no matter how (in)famous they are. Not to mention the self-promoting and general wankery that goes on between them. I once saw some dumbass who put a fuckhuge list of tropes in his shitty tryhard story's preface for no good reason, and the tropers instantly creamed themselves and made a page for it.

I don't think the bronies are the worst, but when they're bad, they are really fucking terrible. I've had to clean up so many messes the bronies have made.

Before the bronies, there was a huge weeaboo presence on TV Tropes, to the point that all other mediums were neglected.

I'll second the fanfic spergs. They say Sturgeon's Law applies to fan fiction, but you wouldn't know it from the way they seem to put it on a pedestal.

One that hasn't been mentioned yet is the Joss Whedon fandom. They expect that everybody has seen Whedon's stuff and that everybody will get every little reference, when in reality they're just being confusing.

Also, the most perplexing fandom presence on TV Tropes is the pinball fandom. If you see anything relating to pinball (and you will see it quite often), chances are it's the work of one crazy pinball fanatic, rjung.

Yeah, I've been noticing Pinball-related entries on TVTropes quite a bit lately. Not sure why though, it's not that valid a format to be included on the site. Hell, I'd place fan fics above a game that invovles flippers, balls and flashy shit.

What the fuck do you even write about fucking Pinball?
"Oh yeah, when the ball enters the hole the whole board lights up and the UFO in the corner spins, Crowning Moment of Awesome right there"

This Troper thought the part where the Pinball game was too Nintendo Hard and he lost because of Artificial Difficulty was a Dethroning Moment of Suck.

... just typing that out made me feel... dirty.

saw this in the autism thread

made me lol a little bit

our little sperg has been pretty boring lately except that he's really gone with his fixation on "not conforming to gender roles" as an autistic symptom. Not sure how I would explain to him that being a girl who doesn't spend all her time shoe shopping or a guy who's not a quarterback doesn't make you a special snowflake.

@Philosophy Zombie: Who says we don't need a thread for him anymore?

The fact is, Autism Speaks doesn't necessarily have a good reputation; it's actually kind of well known that they're a pretty bad organization. One guy who whines about cartoons all the time is not going to change anything.

Personally I don't mind the pinball articles, since they do have interesting tidbits of information from time to time, but it is kinda stupid how one person can just flood the site with tropes about a work and make it look more popular than it actually is.

I love learning stuff from TV Tropes - but yeah, the forum community depresses me, overall with their bias and hate-filled BS, whether it be reviews or comments in general.
I frequent the site a lot, but now I only do it to read tropes. I used to post there a lot, but when I realized my opinions didn't feel welcome there, I began doing so less and less. Now, I don't post there all that much.

Oh, and don't get me started on all of the western animation and/or anime sperging..... It's just saddening for me that I can't like anything without some fucker telling me that it's cliche or stupid, or some other shit that nothing can ever, nor will ever, be able to outrun or avoid, deep down. It saddens me that these fools can't understand that and seem to complain about everything without knowing the truth about how things work sometimes, and that they also suck sometimes, too.

I know this is off -topic but why are you always so emotional in most of your posts?

Maybe the worst big one, but I think the fanfic-related tropers are horrible and create immense amounts of content that doesn't deserve to exist.
That itself can of course include bronies. Really, who gives a care about characters from MLP fan-fic #20534? Unless it was My Immortal, a random average Joe wouldn't care and in that case, no one but some sperg fan of a random as hell fan-fic even cares about some donut steel OC fan-fic.

The fuck if I know..... My experience with this shit was just negative, that's all.
But I'm going to assume that being emotional about this shit is a bad thing, isn't it?
Wouldn't the worst in being emotional just get you an autistic rating? Aside from that, since you had an experience with TVTropes, you wouldn't mind sharing any experiences worth reading for any Kiwi's here, would you?

There's not much I can really share - but I can agree that the ponyfags have way too much presence there, IMHO.....
