I remember that Hail Stormer dude. He's literally 16 years old. (TV Tropes is 13+.) The consensus about Chiharu is that she was a catfish who he fell for because he's a stupid gullible teenager. When she "died" by jumping off a 50-story Japanese skyscraper or something implausible like that, there were one or two users who publicly doubted her existence, and he bitched out at them (specifically there was one poster who said "well, I don't have much sympathy for you if she turns out not to be real" that he chimped out at). They might have even gotten a tempban for hurting his fee-fees, I don't remember. The other posters just continued to coddle him and told him to ignore da hadurrs.

So yeah, he's only a lolcalf right now, but I can very well see him becoming one if he doesn't get a clue real soon.

I frequent the site and actually do use the forums, though I only really stick around because I'm part of a forum roleplay.

Do you go by the same name? I think I remember seeing your username on the forums.

I'm a friend of the guy who called out Hail Stormer. Unfortunately the ban wasn't temporary.

Hail Stormer also uploaded a picture to his deviantART and claimed it was the last picture "Chiharu" sent him before she "died." I did a reverse image search and it turned out Hail Stormer had stolen somebody else's artwork and (lazily) blanked out the signature of the person who drew it.

When they said "censorship-free", they meant that they were butthurt that they could not trope Naughty Tentacles or their creepy pedo anime like Kodomo no Jikan. That is the main difference between All the Tropes and the regular wiki. I mean if you're interested in that shit then you might find that valuable, but if you aren't and you just want a better community you won't find that there. I don't know much about it, but ATT claims that they actually encrypt their passwords as opposed to TVT, which literally just stores them as plaintext files (this might have changed under new management though), so that's also a small bonus, I guess.

One of the "gems" they split away from TVT so they could preserve was an extremely weeby chart of anime bra sizes.

"useful notes on bra sizes" (not explicitly weeby but there's really no point in having this article)

Someone remind me why tropers are virgins again.

Yeah, that's definitely the best way to use TV Tropes. I loved the wiki for a while too, but I only go occasionally now because it's not that interesting to me anymore. I guess playing around with concrete concepts without really going into deeper meanings wore off after a while.

I stumbled across this thread, remembered the blog of the guy who runs All The Tropes addressed the "boob chart" and why it was kept:

http://gethn7.blogspot.com/2014/07/sex-maturity-and-troping.html

Part 2:

As for whether ATT is less fucked up, I haven't exactly gone through all their content yet (what community they do have is apparently more concerned with who is and isn't a complete monster, which is spergy as hell but rather tame) rather than masturbating over hentai anime, but that's just what I gathered via random skim of their recent changes.

Also, it seems GethN7 hates SJWs:

Última edición:
The regulars of the Troper Shipping and Troper Dating thread are pretty messed up people in general although a lot of them are underage, so I won't mention their usernames directly. Most of them hate their parents and are really vociferous about it (of course whether they are actually abusive is up for debate). The one I remember the most is an autistic 15-year-old girl who claimed to be pansexual and had conservative Christian parents who she was afraid to come out to. She considered the shipping thread her "real" family, and I think as a result she overshared way more about herself than is advisable for a minor (ex. full name, pictures, fetishes, deep dark intimate stuff). She was also suicidal to an extent iirc and a huge edgelord. Honestly I worry about her, and I really hope she gets off TVT and gets therapy.

Other notable members include a girl who must have been like 11 or 12 and didn't know where babies come from, that ultrasperg Bonsai Forest who I talked about on the first page, a weeaboo named Electric Nova who was like Andrew Dobson but trans and a "writer" (the giant woman fetishes, social justice, and "pity me" attitude fit to a tee, anyway), Hail Stormer's 17-year-old buttbuddy who didn't have the Honorable Gentleman shtick but still wore a dumb fedora and was extremely annoying, a bunch of "brilliant unpublished writer" types, and a bunch of random unremarkable people who nonetheless thought it would be a great idea to hang out with 15-year-old brats which kind of tells you about their relationships with people in real life.

That would be implying that all SJWs aren't superficial and insincere already.

Ah, sloppy wording on my part, sorry. I meant like in the sense of "Ooh, I suddenly care about feminism and progressivism, ladies! definitely not just doing this to get laid..."

Do you go by the same name? I think I remember seeing your username on the forums.

Nope, must've been someone else with a similar name. Picked a different username for this site.

Nothing is worse than the Nightmare Fuel pages for more popular series/games. It reads like a 14 year old who has just discovered horror and thinks it's most revolutionary thing ever (which is probably true, on second thought). They trip over themselves to explain why slightly unsettling things are THE SCARIEST EVER and it shows. Unsettling games like MM are no longer creepy if you go into them after reading this page, expecting everything to be nightmare fuel.

The absolute best thing about Nightmare Fuel is that they have a section for station bumpers. Also, a page dedicated to a Hamtaro GBC game. Fucking Hamtaro.

See, this is why I avoid anything YMMV. Except for Sugar Wiki, maybe.

Sometimes Sugar Wiki is fine, but especially with some more popular series, some tropers have an obsession with finding an Awesome or Heartwarming Moment in virtually every frame. It used to be called Crowning Moment of Awesome, Funny, Heartwarming, etc. until it was changed because there was never any crowning moment, only 100 teeny little moments. I think most editors said MLP had it worst (tropers really love their cartoon ponies to go with their Badass Longcoats). Somebody called it a Heartwarming Moment whenever Pastel Pony #1 was nice to Pastel Pony #2, and every time a pony did something to advance the plot it was an Awesome Moment. Whenever a pony did something kind of cute or mildly amusing, it was a Funny Moment. You get the idea. Also every obvious plot point was "Fridge Brilliance" because there was one troper who was particularly slow on the uptake.

I agree that there's loads of shoehorning, and I see where you're coming from, but it isn't as bad to me as all the negativity in YMMV and it isn't as cringeworthy as Nightmare Fuel and some Tear Jerker pages.

The problem with both sections is a direct consequence of the rule of "no negativity" TV Tropes has enforced for so long (even with Fast Eddie gone, it's still enforced, just ever so slightly less harshly). The negative crap is so bad because the site used to be so casual about everything until Fast Eddie started cracking the whip, and unfortunately, they were so laid back for so long and their rules are so poorly enforced by a bunch of moderators with little patience (a few of which are surely minor lolcows in their own right) that a ton of bitterness gets wedged into TV Tropes wherever and whenever anyone can find the slightest excuse.

Of course, the SugarWiki can be just as nauseating, if only because positiveness is encouraged and even enforced in a manner that would make Orwell cringe (especially when Fast Eddie ran things) that the hand of regulation is very poor against any sperg editing about anything ever that made them the slightest bit happy.

The issue stems from the fact TV Tropes took way too long to try finding a happy medium between the two extremes and only cracked the whip on the worst parts long after it was too late to direct site culture in the proper direction.

tv tropes is truly a wretched hive of scum and faggotry, have you seen their trooper tales thing? they removed it now but there used to be a thing where these fucks said all kind retarded shit about their lives
one guy even made a youtube series about it and the things these guys said were really terrible beyond belief

They still have them on the All The Tropes wiki, but from what I understand they actually removed a bunch of masturbatory commentary on them and still do, at least according to this blog post by the guy who runs the place.

http://gethn7.blogspot.com/2014/07/in-which-i-want-to-thank-sa-goon-for.html

He also further goes on about the rules if you must make a page about tentacle anime or anything like that:

Yes, the Troper Tales were pretty messed up, I'll give you that much.

However, if you really want to know about Fast Eddie, ED has an article where they revealed he was an old guy living in a trailer park in Wisconsin:

You're thinking of Chagen, and he was a massive sperg.

yeah I posted about Chagen in Obscure Laughingstocks a long time ago

found it

You might remember that Moleman loved TV Tropes. So does our best friend Connor Bible. It's undeniable that TVT has always been a gathering place for spergs, lonely weebs, and attention whores, although it's sometimes a fun way to waste a couple hours.

The nadir of the site's development was probably 2010-early 2012 for many reasons that I'm not going to get in detail about right now. Long story short, Troper Tales and Fetish Fuel were in full swing (if you don't know what those are, look at this and this), and the wiki was at war with itself over whether trope names should be either so clunky that they were impossible to remember or so arcane they were impossible to understand, as well as how they should handle works featuring pedophilia—which might merit its own post some other time. I'm only mentioning this because the troper that I am talking about came from this era.

Chagen46 was young enough to be in high school, and reminds one of Nick Bate with a fetish for diapers instead of and shit. A regular on the forums' "Fetishes" thread (which was renamed to The Nunnery at some point, then last June it was reported to Google and deleted), he enjoyed sharing his sundry and bizarre proclivities with the other tropers and crying when he thought they weren't paying enough attention to him.

His fetishes fed his persecution complex, which was pervasive throughout his time on the forums; another thing was his political beliefs, which shifted from conservative Christian spergy asshole to liberal atheist spergy asshole. Like so many pathetic weeaboo shut-ins, he wanted an "otaku" Japanese-American girl to be his animu realdoll because he couldn't imagine doing things to make him attractive to the average girl like practicing hygiene or talking about things that weren't video games or hentai. He bragged about having 15 GB of animu porn (in plain sight! For his parents to see!), and constantly insisted that imaginary girls were better than real women since they are perfect and they can't reject you. Also, like Nick, he is disgusted by vaginas and uncircumcised penises, oh and did I mention he was a pedophile? He was banned for embedding some art of an underaged girl from a video game and not labeling it NSFW.

After being banned, he hung around on the It Just Bugs Me Forum, which is a place for tropers and ex-tropers to commiserate when the TV Tropes forum has burned them, where he talked about looking up porn at school, wanting a little sister to corrupt, fetishizing anime Nazis, not liking niggos, becoming a brony, hating to bathe, having a gay Chinese cybersexbuddy, and how his rich parents whose money he uses to buy hentai are horrible people for being ashamed of him. Needless to say he ended up getting banned again by the same people who were rejected by TVT for being too exceptional.

CrazyGoggs
, who made his YouTube career by laughing at tropers, was the first to chronicle Chagen in nitty gritty detail, and made a 20-minute video about him that was sadly truncated by YT for being too TRUE and HONEST. Nonetheless, the shortened version is the best record we have of his exploits since the fetish thread got taken down, complete with entertaining voiceover. (Note: if you can find a mirror version of the original video, I'll love you forever.)
