Attack of the Clones is the worst out of all nine main Star Wars movies and I will die on that hill. Phantom Menace is clunky in places and got saddled with some bad dialogue and the introduction of midi-chlorians, but I'd still rather watch it than Rise of Skywalker or The Last Jedi. Revenge of the Sith is the best of the three and I'd place it as fourth best in the series behind the originals, but even then it still has some really lousy dialogue and wooden acting. Those were the movies where George Lucas had no one to tell him "no" or smooth over his rough edges as a writer, and it really shows. But he still had a plan and a vision for where his story was going to go, and that's more than can be said for the sequels.
