I don’t know if it was any better but I wish Livejournal had stayed popular. It seemed like a fun and more streamlined place for fandom content without the questionable content Tumblr provides. At this point I can’t wait for something to replace Tumblr.

What's happening to tumblr now is basically just Strikethrough 2.0, except not based solely on fanfiction, not started by a bunch of religious nutcases, and with the added issue of porn spambots.

The pornbots, by the way, continue to not be impacted in the slightest, though some have noted a curious increase in bots dedicated only to gay porn.

So wait a minute it says "nudity found in art, such as sculptures and illustrations" is fine to post and explicitly refers to the content that is banned as "Adult content primarily includes photos, videos, or GIFs that show real-life human genitals or female-presenting nipples, and any content—including photos, videos, GIFs and illustrations—that depicts sex acts."

I think they don't want to lose the large softcore/pin-up artist community who make up a decent amount of the real people still using the site. By these new rules, they can make the argument that their work is artistic and doesn't depict "sex acts" maintaining a family-friendly image to others-namely the app store and advertisers.
