I know, I'm just saying that it's one of the biggest things the site has to offer normal people who keep the site above water in terms of engagement and revenue from ads. The lolcows, SJWs, and other assorted weirdos that are Tumblr's main inhabitants have proven beyond doubt these past few years that they can't be counted on to sustain your business or hobby. Take away both porn blogs and a lot of regular artists (both legal NSFW and non-NSFW content) in a purge because the staff is too fucking stupid and incompetent to deal with rampant child pornography on the site and you end up in a situation where the internet may very well lose its second largest autism containment site.
 
The bot's still going. Blogs that were still there this morning are gone. If this was really about CP they would have stopped and corrected their "glitch", wouldn't they?

I mentioned on my last post that in addition to harmless tags like bara (What do beefy gay anime men and furries have to do with kiddie porn?) being wiped, they also entirely removed the lock icon which allows you to turn off safesearch. Well, the switch in blog settings which allows you to mark your blog as NSFW content has been totally removed as well. How is that possibly going to help stop child exploitation?

Normal, well adjusted people can sit down and enjoy a good horror movie or murder mystery novel as just a normal hobby thing. On the other hand, normal, well adjusted people will not sit down and watch loli hentai. Gore/horror isn't necessarily for sexual gratification. It's also an established genre, "naked little anime kids" is not. I don't feel like really any valid comparisons can be made between the two.

Like, don't get me wrong, I'm not trying to delegitimize the fact actual CP is more harmful/worse. But it's still kinda gross and not normal, and the peddlers and consumers of it are absolutely worth laughing/gawking at. And frankly, I don't think stricter rules (if competent, of course Tumblr's won't be) surrounding it are bad.

Tumblr is such a shitty site because the moderation team is nonexistent. The place has always been a feral free for all where the inmates run the asylum. The only reason staff is doing anything is because the app got taken off Apple. Even that upcoming Pillowfort Tumblr hugbox alternative looks better.

I mean, I was there too and I still use Tumblr now and then. It's definitely gotten worse since the acquisition.
 
pretty sure tumblr has been a breeding ground for underage porn for years now. funny how its taken them this long to notice.

I was purely a deviantART and tumblr kid so maybe your online experience was different through pixiv. Not sure how censorship works there, but that's definitely new to me and possibly anyone else who didn't frequent that site.
 
Gore such as that (Guro) is incredibly common on Tumblr and Pixiv, it is considered pornographic as Guro is made specifically for sexual purposes even if it doesn't appear purely sexual at first glance. DA is much more on top of cutting out harder Guro images, but the tag still exists and still contains content.

When you get to websites that are more lenient, such as Tumblr and Pixiv, you get plenty of it, and its sub-genres, Guro, Candy-Gore, Hard Vore, Pastel-Guro, etc, with the exception of perhaps Candy-Gore, Guro and Hard Vore are considered gore, but it's also considered gore made for sexual purposes. Guro is actually huge on tumblr, you likely simply didn't find it because despite its sheer amount of content, it remains relatively well contained in its own tags.
 
Tumblr has been dying very slowly for the last few years, at least from the perspective of someone who hasn't touched the site since 2014. Most tumblrites moved to twitter (then later Mastodon), and I rarely see much activity on this board.
I've mostly seen artists who still use it, but they already have twitter, pixiv, and furaffinity anyway.
