Pointing at Obama isn't a defense, it’s just whataboutism that proves the exact point I've been making. Obama told Planned Parenthood in 2007 that codifying Roe was the "first thing" he'd do, then got a 60-seat Senate majority and immediately called it "not my highest priority." Trump campaigned on a giant border wall, had a unified government, and walked away with a fraction of fencing and zero Mexican checks. In my view, getting turned down and dropping it isn't the same as Obama saying he was going to codify Roe vs Wade and then outright saying it wasn't a priority.
Saying you will do something and going "Lol I lied fuck you" isn't the same as "Oh ok". There was a degree of intent, so to say it was never his intent isn't necessarily true.
Both guys dangled red meat to their base and then dropped it the moment they got into office. Using Obama’s broken promises as a shield for Trump's just admits that both fan bases are getting treated like marks.
