I wouldn't frame it as an execution. I've stated my opinion on the matter before and don't particularly care to do it again. I think this insistence on it being some cold blooded execution is absolutely retarded. It is genuinely insane to pretend this dude walked up to the car, popped off a one liner, and shot her in the face because he's such a good MAGA stormtrooper that he just couldn't help himself from embodying Judge Dredd and rendering his judgement and execution on the street right there.
At the expense of sounding like a broken record, I think that we have a woman and her wife who were actively working to fuck with ICE in the "I'm not touching you!" Way. She was parked perpendicular in the street, she shouldn't have been. The narrative of "conflicting orders" has been thoroughly disproven. She was ordered out of the car, her wife said "Drive, baby, drive!" At that point she defied a legal order and hit the gas. This cop happened to be in what he interpreted as the splash zone, drew and fired. He should not have been standing there, and we can Monday morning quarterback all day about how he could've stepped out of the way or shot the car out of her hand or pepper sprayed her tires or whatever the fuck, but the point is, there's no way you're going to find a jury of people, even in Minneapolis, which unanimously finds him guilty of murder. Could he have done something that wasn't shooting her? Absolutely. Was what he did murder? No way you can prove that. Especially considering that he has an excellent and sympathetic excuse of being in a similar incident last year in which he sustained injuries and can claim PTSD or whatever. Whether you personally believe that or not, a jury isn't going to convict him. Not going to happen. It's a non starter.
As I've said, everyone sucks here. Out of the dozen or more people that were standing there screaming shit at ICE, only one got shot in the face, and that person was also the same person parked perpendicular in the street and tried to speed off when confronted. We can talk about police training and protocol and whatever the fuck else, but at some point, we have to acknowledge that this wasn't a situation of some lady sitting on the porch reading a book who was viscously attacked by a wild, rapid ICE agent hiding in the bushes. It's a tragedy. It's sad. It shouldn't have happened, but just as I refuse to call her a terrorist or whatever the fuck else orange nigger wants to paint her as, I will not call the cop a murderer.
I think we can agree that no law enforcement in this country has a right to execute anyone, let alone a citizen and then get off scott free. You must agree with that, right?
No shit. This is a non sequitur though, because that's not what happened here. Using this level of hyperbole is not useful in actually discussing issues related to law enforcement.
