I actually agree with the incels that there genuinely is a male loneliness epidemic and mental health crisis and even some of the reasons behind it (societal changes on the expectations of men, decline of third spaces and the rise of online spaces etc.), but I insist it is mostly a self-inflicted problem.
Most of the men suffering in this epidemic/crisis have abhorrent personalities that repel women and even other men away from them and don't have any positive traits like humility, patience, discipline etc. that would make women want to date them or men want to be friends with them. Yet they don't see that the issue lies with them, that their refusal to change is harming them and that they are massively failing at the one societal expectation of men that has remained constant and that is for men to step up to the plate and give things a go. How many of these practical NEETs don't venture out into the real world and go to the few third spaces left remaining like martial arts classes at the gym, jam sessions and open mics at a bar, or low-level sports leagues?
I also note that they overvalue female companionship and grossly undervalue male friendship, insisting that they just need to meet the right woman and all of their problems would be magically solved with her presence. They have all these problems and yet don't think that they would want someone empathetic to their woes to help and advise them through a tough stretch?

see, I disagree that it is mostly self-inflicted, since it's been shown just how much men were excluded and a whole lot of "pull down men if we can't push women up." sorta actions were made. Not just DEI and all that shit, but even pushing the messages of how 'men ain't shit' or how a bad man is somehow representative of all men, but a bad woman is only on her; or even the slow removal or enshittification of male role models. But where I do agree is the whole Jordan Peterson-esque "These men have to go and pick themselves up; they can't depend on others to do it for them."
Many of these men have issues with personality and how to interact with people IRL which needs to be worked on. But with no one to show them how to do so and no desire to change themselves accordingly, they essentially just fall in further within that hole.
As for the whole "wanting a woman so all their problems will be solved", funnily enough, I don't think they're looking for a woman. I really think they're looking for a source of motivation and drive that would actually push them to change and improve for the better. Used to be, that drive came from connections, whether to family (and family responsibilities), friends and social connections, and God. But most of these guys don't actually have such connections in the present day; what they do have is a lot of stories showing a protagonist who bends himself backwards and goes zero-to-hero for the sake of some girl who loves him. So they're essentially looking for an equivalent "princess" to go for. Not realizing the knight didn't get his virtues because he chased AFTER the princess, he got her BECAUSE of his virtues that he obtained STRIVING TO LIVE TO HIS PRINCIPLES.
Most of these men have put the cart in front of the horse, and are surprised that it isn't moving as they want it to.
What I think most of them need is either therapy and/or coaching on how to get better till they manage to motivate themselves to improve themselves. But good luck getting most of them to do that.

I think this is the most reasonable way to interpret what happened.
I stand by what I said in the shooting thread that you're not going to find a unanimous jury of impartial peers to say what he did was unreasonable, which simply makes him not guilty of murder, not necessarily innocent or without blame for the incident.
Everyone here made choices that directly led to this woman being shot. The shooting itself is a terrible tragedy, but I'm not going to call the cops a murderer, and I'm not going to the woman a terrorist.

Here’s a life hack:
If you’re over twelve years old, you generally can learn how to socialize with other people simply by being observant in real life. You don’t need anyone to show you the rules, just pick up on what people are interested in and try to find common ground with them.
Utilizing basic manners, such as not interrupting people when they speak, paying attention to body language and not overstepping acceptable boundaries are mandatory. Funny thing is, we’re all taught these things in elementary school through rules. Turns out, many of those basic rules they give you in school are useful for social interactions throughout life.
These guys have no excuse not to remember those basic boundaries. The problem with them is that they chose to discard them, or they simply didn’t pay attention.
What also helps is not basing your life expectations from media you consume. In other words, separating fiction from reality.
Before it’s brought up, being on the autism spectrum isn’t an excuse to be out and about rude to people. I’ve befriended plenty of autistic guys in my school days who were polite and learned to be outgoing by observation. Most of them are married, because they stayed within their own league.
Most of the incel minded guys grew up on a steady diet of dating sims, porn and rom coms where Stacey settled down for the nerd. Real life doesn’t play by movie and video game tropes. Many of these guys would do well to ask themselves what they’d actually bring into a relationship vs what they expect in a partner.

Its a big reason why you're seeing more people going to the gym, zoomers work out more than anyone outside of the cast of Jersey Shore did back in 2010. but despite -Maxxing in as many places as possible, its still not enough. leading to a guy who would have been the hottest dude in 2009, now being as lonely and pathetic as chris-chan.
much like capitalism right now, the grandmasters are taking everything, and fucking up the entire economy. you can't win by doing any weird playstyle or 'being yourself', at this level everyone is trying to follow a meta and for most its not enjoyable.
I remember as a kid hearing jokes about dudes going to the gym, because even the concept of working out was considered gay, the entire concept of dressing nice, eating well, working out, and not being like Seth Rogen meant you were basically a faggot. they even had a name for it, called metrosexual. It was like the dating version of selling out, it was so easy to succeed that you were looked at as a weirdo for even trying. its like getting a job, when all it took was a handshake why would you have a resume and optimize it and have a cover letter and a different version of both for every job listing like a psycho.

Yeah it's really not an age thing.
People often just treat politics like sports and have a hard time imagining "their side" as being in the wrong. It gets weird with tragedies like this, because why is the ICE guy "their side"?
Imagine it's because of the purity spiraling that's gone on for a while now with MAGA while also imagining they can't possible denounce anyone they view as even vaguely on "their side" no matter what they say or do. So they end up brainstorming whatever wacky interpretations they can come up with to argue things like "the car in reverse was actually in the process of ramming forward" and looking deranged in the process.
Can't imagine wanting to identify with a side in politics that badly, since no politician or group of any sort is ever going to be all that on your side. Especially not average law enforcement who fantasize their job is about "us vs them" rather than about protecting the public.
Does remind me a bit of Jan 6th though and how many protesters/rioters were shocked and saddened by police not just joining them. Like you had people feeling betrayed that police would try stopping them from hanging out in Pelosi's office, since they were so dead convinced that the police would definitely be on their side.

You bring up good points about Miller and Vance and it got me thinking. They’re currently doing everything to see chaos and unrest in the US to consolidate power. This is definitely in Miller’s playbook and the type of regime he sees as successful: keep the loots scared and confused and they’re easy to manage.
But they forget the most important thing in their world that also suffers under chaos: the market. The economy does not fare chaos well, but most especially the stock market. Scared, poor people don’t spend well.
So they’ve adopted a form of rule that is counterintuitive to their men who hold the purse strings. Which is why we have a moron bumbling into an invasion before he knows if it’ll even benefit anyone, getting rejected by every oil company. Winning?

I have 0 clue how the american system works, but isn't this just straight up not going to happen? I figure that most people on crazy % debt are using payday loans rather than CC? Wouldn't this just push those who are 'borderline' risk to being denied/having to go to non-credit card lenders?
