Losing 25-30% of farmers is a feature, not a bug. There are lots of businesses that are like vultures circling around various almost dead industries looking to consolidate and pick it apart. It all sounds conspiratorial but vulture capitalism has been a thing since the leveraged buyout of the 1980s. More money to be made picking off the remaining bits of America not yet under corporate or equity firm control. But it’s all done under a Republican administration so it’s all good.

Private equity. Places like Joann Fabrics were stable businesses until private equity comes in and purposefully torches them to get as much money as possible in the short term. American farmers still expect special treatment and government welfare even when voting for a candidate that promised cuts across the board. For some reason, the retarded hicks view themselves as part of the modern business class that Trump caters to instead of the government-subsidized slavers that they're in reality. They cannot compete with 3rd world farms while still depending on imported labor to even remain viable as a business. There's no future for them except to be bought out by more competent vultures. I'd have some compassion if they were less retarded.

PL I know a lot of famers (family mostly). They aren’t bright. They will see their profits get smaller and need help, but won’t blame trump. They will still vote for him again and, now, will blame solar panels for their troubles. No joke, farmers are now blaming solar panels for “less farming area and less profits” even if it’s not on their farms or harm their ability to grow crops

This is absolute bullshit. The U.S. is the single largest food exporter in the world. The rest of the world could pop out of existence and the only thing that would change is our vast surplus. Brazil is a distant second.

Despite being a vast exporter of food (even more than much larger countries), this represents a minuscule part of our GDP.
