Trump Enslavement Syndrome - Orange man good. /r/The_Donald and any public demonstration of rabid pro-Trump enthusiasm in spite of all reason.

The Israelis try to do their sing and dance about radical Islam but when it comes to their geopolitical strategy for the region, especially their beloved greater Israel project it has been proven time and time again that it's in their best interests to promote sectarian conflict.
I've always thought that the Iranian Revolution smelled a little bit like lox. You have a rapid change to an Islamic theocracy that includes death to Israel as part of its constitution but Israel is on good enough terms with them to act as a mediator for Iran-Contra a couple years later...

Unfortunately I'm not aware of anyone who has done a deep dive on this. It'd be interesting though.

Iran and Israel had a significant mutual threat in the form of Iraq, it was more pragmatism than anything. There's also the religious aspect, the Sunni-Shia schism was and is also a lot more violent and long-term source of tension dating back well over 1,300 years...Israel's existence is a drop in the bucket in comparison.

In 1981 Israel had also successfully destroyed the unfinished nuclear reactor Iraq was building in connection with its nuclear weapons program, which really set them back and benefitted both countries substantially. Iran had tried to attack it before but didn't do enough damage.

So basically in this case it was "the enemy of my enemy is my friend". Israel was actually one of the few countries that only sold weapons to Iran during the Iran-Iraq war.

That's an insult. Delicious salmon everywhere.

All jokes aside, I fully agree. Although it would be funny to see it televised and turn into a fucking chimp out

I think when you get to the point where labor issues don’t matter to labor unions anymore, then they've ceased to matter.

Everyone knows trade unions have a history of cozying up to Republicans, opposing public sector unions, and supporting “right to work” laws (i.e. the things that gut worker power).

If the rank-and-file are more fired up about the latest culture war chew toy than about their own paychecks or job security, and they’re lining up behind politicians who wouldn’t lift a finger for them... why bother?

Relevance: Bari Weiss just auctioned off The Free Press for 250 million dollars. She flipped it to Larry Ellison’s kid, who’s on the verge of swallowing CBS News whole thanks to his company buying Paramount. It's part of a move to spin pro-Israel/broligarch bullshit into “news.” Weiss is one of the biggest Trump bootlickers and tried to gaslight everyone by pretending the Times "cancelled" her when she just quit.

They'll cozy up to Trump because Trump is getting rid of the one tool corporations have to defend themselves from the bullying the unions do: cheap immigrant labor. But they still hold socialist/communist beliefs in their hearts, borne from years of fighting rich capitalist bean-counters. If you spent decades fighting to get more pay for workers against rich businessmen, you likely won't like capitalism as a principle. Once Trump outlives his usefulness, they'll show their true colors, but right now, they're happy to use him to destroy their competitors.

It's ironic. Trump might actually kill American capitalism; between his tariffs and persecution of immigrant labor, America's transformation into a Communist shithole is close at hand.

They're not even attempting to make headlines believable anymore lol.

The gaslighting is just unbelievable at this point. Don't believe your lying eyes as you look upon the streets of America filled with despondent, homeless drug addicts willing to do anything for their next fix. Ignore all the statistics showing a majority of Americans living paycheck to paycheck or how 40 percent of Americans can't afford a 400 dollar emergency expense. Plug your ears and cover your eyes as the average cost of a single family home has skyrocketed to half a million dollars while prices shoot through the roof. Wave away the younger generations who are going through a massive crisis because they can't find a job after years of education, for a job market that has radically changed since they started college. Lastly, blame the American working class for their suffering through all this, ignoring all the signs of a failing society and sweeping under the rug how massive amounts of money printing happened under Trump's first term. Have the brain dead shills at the Heritage Foundation make up total fairy tales on your behalf, rinse and repeat.

Rent control is a mistake. Chances are the landlord housed the rich so the tennant can pitch in for upkeep.

Affordable housing is dead. Of all the ways out of a housing crisis , rent control ain't it.

What is the solution to this issue in your opinion?

Can't say I really have one. TBH. But if you want my layman, pull-an-idea-out-of-my-ass suggestions even I have doubts on:

-prefabricated homes
-Rezoning/altering the offices spaces that have remained empty after covid 19
-more land, problem is you get environmental concerns
-get the boomers to quit complaining about building more housing

Any better ideas are welcome

Thanks for this, I watched it, because I am interested in this current dynamic, especially now that things are so much more fucked for labor, manufacturing, and the market in general. I know the UAW is also backing the auto tariffs, but I think it's more about fuck you to the corpos than creating more union jobs. This particular faggot union boss over saw Teamsters themselves through the entirety of the bullshit surrounding Yellow's Chapter 11 Bankruptcy and sale to union hostile shops XPO and Saia.

I think the dynamic has shifted enough to where the people that would really benefit from unions now (office workers being unnecessarily RTO'd, service workers that work 80 hours for something where there is no automation yet, but it's coming) don't really have access to unions, versus those that have them like manufacturing in the midwest, don't really benefit from them because their jobs can just be shipped further south or overseas. So I think you're right that a lot of them aren't really benefiting from the protections a union can give you, but I don't even think they're thinking that far ahead. There just mostly uneducated boomer men and x'er divorced dads falling for a conman just like in the rest of the general population, and union manufacturing and union hauling tends to employ a lot of those types of people anyway.

Everyone knows unions have a long history of cozying up Republicans, opposing public sector unions, and supporting“right to work” laws (i.e. the things that gut worker power).

I'm not really aware of these things, even public sector unions, like Fire Fighters and Police, are mostly pro-Trump (I'm assuming what you really mean is teacher unions). I've never heard of any union boss or rank-and-file regularly support "Right-To-Work", that's news to me. Unless you are just talking about the few cheap-ass blowhards that just don't want to pay their dues but still expect all the "protections", if that's on the increase I haven't seen it reported anywhere, I just know the same anecdotal morons.

MAGA wishes to be deceived, and so they will continue to be deceived. By the time they realize they were deceived, it'll be too late.

I don’t get why he never hit it off with Trump, they seem like the perfect combo:

I hate to be "that guy" but to be "comfortable" living in the "middle class" parts of NYC, you need a household income of at least $125,000. Living there sucks every single penny out of your income. $142,000 per year goes a really long way in other parts of the country. Not in the Five Boroughs.

Trump has made American allies rethink about buying American, instead, they're looking to buy European instead.

The MIGA economy at its finest, ladies and gents. Destroying American businesses, one spurned economic partner at a time.
I mean, the big problem with the F-35 is it had some high-profile failures like crashing. It sounds like the Baron in Battletech where it's supposed to be a top-of-the-line fighter craft, but it sucks in practice and is given to other nations for being loyal.

Probably not a shock to anyone that another of Trump's deadlines for Russia have passed without him following through on a threat.

He really seems dead set on looking like the biggest cuck on the issue.
