The government invited people in to prop up GDP without building the proper infrastructure basically setting them up to be a scapegoat and large corporations actively lobbied the government to weaken labor laws and expand low-wage visa programs so they wouldn't have to pay domestic workers a living wage or invest in technology. Not the fault of the immigrants.Gona be honest, they tried this experiment where immigration= GDP with Canada and it backfired so immensely GDP and QOL dropped and we ended up looking like little India. Trump promised to go after H1B visas from India that do replace American workers - see Microsoft - before reneging and starting a war with Iran no one wanted.
Consumers in general are being priced out of living wages, especially younger people. Avocado toast is blamed but regular bread itself is expensive. The one group that will make a difference is farmers, but protesting is socialist, or something.
