Lenny Bruce was more Andrew Dice Clay than George Carlin. He's also legendary as a "cautionary tale" to stand-up comics, just like Andrew Dice Clay was: that there are lines, especially when it comes to talking about sex, you can't cross and that if you do, only cross them on rare instances and never let yourself be recorded saying them.

Not powerleveling but I've actually spent a lot of time with Andrew Dice Clay as he used to have a band and perform and I was one of the musicians in his band and have spent a good amount of time with him. The thing with Dice was that it's an act and I'm not sure people always got that it was an act. Any time we weren't on stage, he was the complete opposite of his persona. He was always super polite, even to all the band members. Always with "please" and "thank you" when talking to us. I can't say a single bad thing about him. In fact sometimes when we were out and someone recognized him and came up to him on the street and tried to "ape" his routine and start telling him how they picked up this chick and she wouldn't suck dick and so they kicked her out of their car with no shirt on or something, he'd look horrified. They'd be there looking to get approval from him and he'd literally be like, "What's wrong with you? It's an act. You don't treat people like that". He seemed troubled sometimes at the fact that there's people who couldn't separate the person from the persona. In his defense he just thought his Dice persona was just so over the top and ridiculous that no one could ever take it seriously. It's why he felt it was OK to push the envelope because people should get just from the persona that he's not serious. But like many others, he underestimated the stupidity of people.

I didn't know Lenny Bruce personally but from everything I've seen and heard, I got the feeling he was like the way he was on stage all the time. That literally was him. Almost like a John Belushi.

If you would like to know more, I recommend this video. It actually made me feel sorry for musicians!

Lol thank you.

I'd recommend The Day the Laughter Died. Its great, but not for everyone. Its dice being dice in the most obnoxious way possible. He even says "I'll probably be the last one to leave this room". He tries and breaks up everyone's relationship. Its also insane he released the album while selling out stadiums. Its an anti-comedy classic.

When I saw A Star is Born, I barely recognized him. I kept thinking. "I know that guy! Who is he?" It was driving me crazy the whole time that I couldn't place him.

There's an attempt at rhetoric that's doomed to fail. The entire calling card of the post-Boomer left is instant gratification. Telling them they have to work towards something is literally oppression. Every single time I've brought up to one of them that meaningful change takes time, that Doing Something/Anything just because you feel the situation is dire probably won't fix the problem, and anything else that equates to doing the work of actually making any sort of real changes rather than just demanding reality be rejected so you can substitute your own, has been answered with such a spluttering absolute rejection that it's clear their brains don't entirely comprehend the concept. Everything about them is now now now, they're an entire teeming mass of Veruca Salts.

But at a guess, what they mean when they say "Do the work" is an attempt to reinforce the establishment political approach of maintaining the status quo (with gradual but steady increases in federal power). Because of course Obama needed four more years to actually get anything done, you see, and well then we really needed Hillary to get in and have eight years to get anything done, you see. It's not that they were farting around just enjoying being at the height of the political aristocracy and accumulating more power, they were Doing The Work™. It only didn't amount to anything because bad old orange man came in and he hasn't been Doing The Work™, instead he's been making all these accomplishments and fulfilling promises and that's not Doing The Work™, which is totally a thing and not at all a nebulously defined catchy concept come up with by the spin agents to describe having Democrats in office.

The DNC crowing about "doing the work" to get Democrats elected is a funny thing in so far as that it represents the biggest flaw among the left: they think winning the White House is all that matters and that once they get the White House, they basically stop caring about voting and allow the GOP to reclaim Congress and state and local levels of government.

It's why Democrat voter turn out numbers in non-Presidential election years are abysmal and why Clinton and Obama BOTH lost control over Congress in rapid succession in their terms. And why the GOP made huge grounds on the state level during both Presidencies. And why the Democrats are wanting a "big win" for Biden/Democrats across the board, since if the Democrats don't take back the Senate (and kill the filibuster) and keep the House, then the GOP will obstruct like crazy and Biden will get a massive case of "trolls remorse" and start moving to the right to appease the GOP in Congress to get ANYTHING passed, as far as Biden selling out his base for compromise based achievements that look good on paper and will appeal to moderates that Biden will desperately have to pander to if he wants to get re-elected.

Makes me think about that debate arguing against political correctness where he teamed up with Stephen Fry. Fry's silence the last couple of years puts a lie to his previous 20 years of social and political commentary (as does that of a jackass like Jello Biafra whose cause de celebre was anti-censorship). Did Fry get #MeTooed or something and I missed it, or is he just another rainbow victim of the current madness? I'll never understand cock-suckers, especially the ones without vagene.

Rumor has it that Fry has skeletons in the closet (fucking young teenagers) that have kept him silent and on the sidelines. By staying neutral/quiet, the lunatic lefties in the UK won't #MeToo him and destroy him if he opposes the left's agenda.

(See also David Bowie; who went apolitical after dabbling in right wing politics, and it coming out after his death that the media was aware of stories from underage groupies he fucked in the 1970s but kept quiet after he stopped talking politics).

As for Jello; he's in a position where he has personal experience having violence committed against him by antifas in the late 90s and early 00s, so he's pretty much aware that the lunatic left in the punk world will fuck his shit in if he stands up to them.

One of the few Brits who does speak out about the lunatic left though is John Cleese of Monty Python, though that's because he got royally fucked over in a divorce and as such has no fucks left to give whereas Idle and the other Python gang are bleeding heart wankers crying about Brexit.

I idly decided to check the comments of that Krugman gaslighting piece from a bit back. While most of the comments were just mindlessly echoing his narrative and attempting to reinforce his lies like good little NPCs, I found... well, you should know what I found by now.

I love how you reference yourself. You post here a lot, how do you keep all of this shit organized in your head?
All part and parcel of being a superior robot lifeform.

IIRC he was censured by his local bishop and fired from his job at the National Catholic Register
I know about the firing and that was confirmed - never heard of a bishop censure especially because I know there were a lot of petitions and efforts to get that. Then again, considering that he's in Seattle (which I hear is a special kind of insanity) his bishop might be thrilled with his antics.

2, Israel is green yes. But the Sinai pennisula is much less so now than it used to be. It still supports Beduins and camels but would have supported extensive grazing and probably sheep/goats in the late bronze age.
Well... yeah, but that's also why when you talk about that area in earlier times, you've got to end up being really precise about stuff. Sure on google maps it may look like one town is a mile from another, but then you look at topography or actually go there and you realize a goddamn mountain separates the two. So a "quick travel" from one to the other wasn't happening. A lot of paths, cities, and battles happened because of what was easiest to travel to.

The binders full of women/dog on the roof of the car stuff was also obvious hysteria ginned up out of thin air by the left wing media, but he didn't deserve any better. There wasn't a single genuine thing about the guy; why should I be bothered to care about DNC fake news smears against him?
Because while I may hate Romney, I must love the Truth more. Otherwise you becomes just as bad as the TDS sufferers who drive themselves to insanity because they have to believe everything. That the media got away with it because Romney was a "soft target" is exactly what led to this current landscape. Don't let your hatred for another person drag you down into being a worse person. @Harvey Danger pointed out the truth of the situation, and it was a crime what the media did - even if the target was a son of a bitch.

Wish Hitchens was alive. Not many could hold a candle to his integrity of thought or decency.
Here you go.

??? Hitchens? I think you're confused, that was Jordan Peterson that teamed up with Fry for a political correctness debate 2 years ago.

You know if she's having problems with her family name, I'd be happy to discuss with her possible solutions to the problem...

McCarthy was a witch hunting drunk who ruined peoples' lives if they couldn't prove they weren't communists.

The people who came up with CRT are a bunch of witch hunting soy guzzlers who ruin peoples' lives if they can't prove they're not fascists.

At the end of the day, a witch hunting faggot is a witch hunting faggot.

But he wasn't wrong.

Their viciousness is starting to override their better sense and they're getting too honest again. They're supposed to be "subtle" about the fact that they're punishing you for wrongthink.
Also wishing harm and misfortune on others (no matter who they are) just makes you a bitter and a shitty human being in general. These days I try not to do this anymore because I feel that I would be no better than my adversaries anyway.

The thing is that even if people do treat you unfairly, ridicule you, or even try to put you down and they're being judgemental to you then should try not to stoop to their level because if you do then your soul will start to turn black and you will become the monster you once tried to fight before then.

To put it another way, you're only still human when you can feel sympathy for others even if society sees them as 'wicked' or 'evil' because at the end of the day they're still human and you only stop being human when you then cease being sympathetic to others and then you'll become a demon and they also don't cry or feel sympathy for others because demons only seek to turn people against each other anyway.

It's important to try to understand others and think things though logic and reason and don't let your strong irrational emotions get the better of you.

Now in a perfect world, people should strive to be understanding and be reasonable and honest with heavy topics to make things for the better. Sadly this isn't a perfect world but that doesn't mean we should let irrationality be the dominant force because this is why the world is unfair to begin with.

So this is pretty much what I have to say about this then.

God, I fucking wish it was new McCarthyism. Nothing would make me happier than to see a bunch of screaming unamerican soyfucks being dragged kicking and screaming out of schools and corporations, being forced to explain that their bullshit is totally science because they FEEL it's science even though they can't reproduce it.

But hey, second term goals and all that.
