Trump Derangement Syndrome - Orange man bad. Read the OP! (ᴛʜɪs ᴛʜʀᴇᴀᴅ ɪs ʟɪᴋᴇ ᴋɪᴡɪ ғᴀʀᴍs ʀᴇᴠɪᴇᴡs ɴᴏᴡ) 🗿🗿🗿🗿

I used to be very liberal and I find myself longing for the way things used to be as well.

But the trouble is looking back the things I hate about the left now were always there to some degree even in the "good old days", it was just better hidden, more below the surface, there's been less change for the left and more the mask slipping off and revealing what they always were deep down inside.

But yeah, it sucks when people you used to be a fan of or online communities you used to enjoy being a part of become intolerably toxic.
It's extremely disappointing with Colbert because he was the person attacked in one of the earliest signs of the coming complete unhinging of the left: the #cancelcolbert idiocy over a satirical joke that nobody even noticed he said until two days later.

Oh how quickly did he forget and go from being one of the hunted to being one of the hunters.

speaking of comedy and jokes about trump:

It's 2012.

Trump go sees the world famous psychic Madame Woa.
He ask her what in his future.
Madame woa goes into a trance then after five minutes begins to speaks.
" I see in your future people setting trump towers on fire. The news endless denouncing your name and trying to destroy your reputation. You will be investigated endlessly by many federal angencies. People riots at mere mention of your name"

"Hey. I'm a nice guy. Why are they mad?"

" Cause you caused a black guy to lose his job and home "

The blue checkmarks never learn from it happening to their own or even themselves... the absolute arrogance and narcissism most of them are prone to always assures them it was a mistake, the mob will never come for them (again) even as they join the mob against their former allies.

Hell, the extent of TDS should be a massive wakeup call for all of them... he used to be one of their own, after all, and look at what everyone's doing to him. But that would require self-awareness and reflection.

The only way the democrats could win in 2020 is if they nominated Rich Evans.

I have the campaign posters ready:

Colbert is a big disappointment, so it Conan O'Brien.

They got my vote!

Comedy basically went into a coma for eight years during the Obama era, and when it woke up it had brain damage that made it aggressive and gave it dementia.

Comedy isn’t as funny when the person is legitimately angry about the thing they’re mocking and not just poking fun at or bringing attention to things.

Thankfully Norm MacDonald is still hilarious.

+1, I agree and when even Chevy Chase denounced the state of the current SNL in 2018, there's something very wrong in comedy today. I guess they're also too chicken to do a Clinton joke thinking they'll die of an "accident" or "suicide" for doing a Clinton joke.

I appreciate your honesty. Most 2000's liberals (*cough* skeptics *cough*) tended to worship people like Richard Dawkins, Bill Nye, Stephen Colbert, Cenk Uyghur, etc. When these guys go "SJW," they're disappointed, feeling like their heroes "sold out." As you said, the reality is that these guys always had the seeds of "progressivism" inside of their philosophy. The reality is that the skeptics have moved (somewhat) to the right.

Take the revival of Rocko's Modern Life. Old school fans of the show are mad that Ralph is now "Rachel." Given that the show was always "edgy," the move actually makes a lot sense. If the show were made in the 2010's, it likely would be pushing those boundaries. Was there pressure from the highers up? Most likely. But I don't think there was much pressure needed. Ralph/Rachel was always meant to be a self-insert character for the creator to vent his daddy issues. What's a greater way to spite your dad by coming out...as trans! It shows you that most of these Liberals long for the 1990's/2000's when they were edgy. But now that they've gotten older, they're out of the loop and they've become...conservative!

@Syaoran Li

There's a reason the left has tried quietly, but forcefully, to get rid of Mahr, he's too centrist for them, only hoping for a economic meltdown that gets Trump kicked out by unpopularity, not the wet dream of impeachment followed by public flogging..... and then the legalization of hunting suspected Proud Boys for sport....

The fact he's the only leftist that still remains funny is no coincidence, he's not dumb, he knows gnashing your teeth is not productive, he wont' go full TDS, and for that, he's a pariah.

I mean, I agree with vritually nothing the man says on a political level, but I still get a chuckle out of his pro-pot jokes from the 90's - "According to the government, there's more risk in smoking pot every day than eating bacon... smoking pot doesn't produce a byproduct your Mom would scold you for dumping down the sink. I propose an experiment where we give a man nothing but bacon for a month, and another one nothing but pot for a month. I submit that you'd find the man who ate nothing but bacon.... would get to work on time...."
Bill Maher, a centrist? The same guy who called for the Constitution to be amended, specifically to get rid of the 2nd Amendment and 2 Senators per state?

And the same guy who said, in response to many Americans potentially being very hurt by a recession (Of course he wouldn't) that it would be worth it?
