Funny how this story is based on "anonymous officials" isn't it?

The Intercept has quite an interesting article pointing this out.

For all we honestly know, the US media is trying to take a leaf out of the UK's Fleet Street (which used to make up the odd story and still does every so often) or has CIA officials meddling in internal US political affairs.

The former will be hilarious when found out, and the latter actively disturbing if it's the case.

MI6's Alex Younger has been opening his trap more and more of late, and his politicisation is being noted a lot by the very same Fleet Street Press, so if the intelligence services have been politicised then it's mostly the foreign arms that it's happened to.

Main question to ask is, why?
