I encountered a nice little example of how the TDS manifests. This is paraphrasing.
Talking to a buddy about whether the Israel war will expand to Lebanon and Iran. We're both appalled by what Israel is doing and US support. I mentioned it's crazy how there are plenty of people on the left in America who hate the US policy towards Israel and Gaza, think it's genocide but will still vote for Harris.
I got a, "Well actually, Trump is more Pro-Israel. When he was President he moved the embassy to Jerusalem."
It was a classic moment where you glitch people's brains out. It was like an automatic response from them, said with all the intention that you can't respond. It's a check mate. Trump is way more pro-Israel and that embassy statement proves it without a doubt.
I respond with something about how is that more pro-Israel than all the Biden/Harris support for what Israel is doing? Destroying any credibility of the international justice system to stop and prevent war crimes etc.
It was a classic example of when they instantly know what I'm saying makes sense, but it contradicts the NPC fact that they know that Trump is worse and super pro-Israel.
So the conversation goes into them asserting his worse, but unable to explain. Just making the point. I can say more, they know it makes sense and the topic just has to be changed because it can't go anywhere. They disagree but don't know and can't say why.
I also glitched this person out a few years ago. They went down some trans rabbit hole. No idea where or how he fell for that nonsense. I was pushing back in good faith not calling him retarded, just gentle questioning the things that don't make sense to me. We were on women's sport. His argument was basically, "trans women are women, so women's sport." He solidly believes that settles it. Case closed. I merely pointed out, that yes under that framework of women, there's still two categories of women. That stumped him. As he'd NPC downloaded facts. He'd never thought of it, and literally just women are women. Merely pointing out, "including trans women as women doesn't mean the existing (CIS) women aren't still their own thing." It literally floored him. The guys a lawyer btw.
