Trump Derangement Syndrome - Orange man bad. Read the OP! (ᴛʜɪs ᴛʜʀᴇᴀᴅ ɪs ʟɪᴋᴇ ᴋɪᴡɪ ғᴀʀᴍs ʀᴇᴠɪᴇᴡs ɴᴏᴡ) 🗿🗿🗿🗿

CNN right now is like a dragon that had its wing blown off. All you can really do is watch as it plummets to the ground, leaving behind a new crater. Maybe, you even smile.

CNN: "We're defending freedom of speech from Trump!"

Also CNN: "IF YOU MAKE MEMES MOCKING US WE WILL DOX YOUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUU"

Considering he's likely in his 40s, that makes it not as bad, but it's still fucked up that they were still threatening to dox him even when they thought he was 15.

They never thought he was 15. CNN went with 40ish/war vet, right off the bat.

Really, they're only going after meme-dude, because they're not able to take the full brunt of their dork-rage out on the President. It's dumb. Like rando Redditor has any actual power in all of this.

Glad to see they're focused on the real, hard-hitting issues.

What terrifies me is how social media has become a palliative—and a highly addictive one—for politics. Twitter is the id of the internet, where we make demands upon the world to make us happy, and express our rage when those demands are denied. In the context of politics, it’s a way for people to not only vent, but to gain attention and psuedo-celebrity from their tweets, which to the id, is like a drug that it will crave more of. So there’s incentive to say or do whatever will give you another hit; by making ever more outrageous tweets. Add in the media enabling this kind of behavior, and things get exceptional up in a hurry.

I think Trump and others know this on some level, that they can keep people docile by feeding them this kind of raw meat. All the angry tweets in the world don’t present a threat to him. So all he has to do is give the pot a good stir once in a while, and no one will notice what is really going on. As long as the id gets it’s fix, power can go on doing whatever it wants with virtually no consequence. And that is seriously scary.

That is basically how he's played it thus far, whenever something vaguely controversial happens that he didn't want to get out he can just tweet something controversial and it gets top billing over the actual event. A lot of governments try and do this occasionally and it's often part of election strategies but Trump is far and away the most successful at doing it.

The thing is that the stuff he puts out on twitter only has as much power as people let it have. If the news media weren't such incestuous, lazy, boring hacks and actually bothered to do investigative reporting rather than sperg on twitter with their buddies all day there wouldn't be this problem. I lay the blame squarely at the feet of journalists and reporters who are so wrapped in their media bubble they don't even consider the fact that there might be something going on in the world that people actually want to learn about or keep up to date with.

When the quality of news drops to analysing Trump's tweets with the losers at the news desk summoning up "hot takes" that are about as decent as the stuff your political teenage cousin posts on facebook then it's their own fucking fault nobody cares about them anymore. There's serious stuff going on out there about Qatar for example which people might have a genuine interest in and has global consequences but instead of getting analysts on to talk about it they'd rather get some dozy tart who reads the news to read tweets and go "Urgh Drumpf" all day instead.

Trump is essentially just Neocon: Mean Words Edition at this point, but don't tell them that. Oh no, he's a fascist who'll start WWIII with his minor gaffes, slightly spicy tweets and refusal to openly antagonize the Russian Prime Minister. This nigga is functionally Jeb Bush with higher testosterone, but he'll kill all the Muslims and Mexicans because he insinuated some of them might maybe could be bad people, and that we should slow down letting in just anyone from hostile conflict zones.

On the other hand, Anderson Cooper does need a new boat...

It's like when people say "Only whites can be racist". It's a deliberately provocative statement meant to elicit a reaction. It's "I hate you so much that I deny reality."

No, those people really believe only whites can be racist.

Not sure what percentage of the holocaust people are actual nazis and how many are just shitposting though.

As long as the lulz don't start negativity affecting my life, I say let him continue being Prez.

I'd rather have Bill Clinton getting blown by thick Jewesses and shit like that, he was more fun and my life was good during his term.

Could you imagine someone who's constantly confused, disoriented, and having health issues on an almost weekly basis being president?
