I don't want to look it up, but some tard journalist was bringing up the pointless fact that Trump's name was coming up in the released files (which were basically just the guy naming him and not anything important), so he answers her question, which is obviously that he doesn't know about it because it's all private conversations with other people. He then tried to take a question from another person, but she kept talking, so Trump told her "Quiet, piggy"

There is none. You can't really change a TDS'ers mind. Minds start to change once they actually experience the things they were told "never happens" or "is overexaggerated by the evil bigoted right wing media". Even then, they'll say it was "just a coincidence" and continue supporting the thing that's clearly a net negative to our society.

Debating someone with TDS doesn't do anything either. There's no point anymore. They'll plug their ears, call you the five usual names and continue being a menace until you give up and they take it as an ultimatum that they won. It's best to let them be and let it foster if there is no real way to break someone out of it. At least one of my relatives with TDS only rambles about Trump for a few minutes or when even the slightest topic that relates to Trump in some way is brought up. So their TDS is thankfully mild compared to people who can't go a day without screaming about the man.

It sucks a lot. But they all still insist the other side's full of crazies who obsess over trivial things.

My usual solution is to make them state actual facts instead of rumors, suposition, and outright lies.
"Did you actually listen to the speech or just a someone's interpretation?"
"Did Trump actually do that, or just someone in the administration?"
"Is that a new policy Trump implemented, or were those pictures from under Biden/Obama?"
and my new favorite "Is this actually making you happy?"

If you challenge them enough, it becomes more trouble than its worth becasue they have to do work instead of getting their emotional hit from parroting the latest polemic.

Another fun thing to do is try to get them angry by straight up mangling facts: argue the good number is bad, say Trump did something Obama/Biden did, and then tell them "I made that up/its wrong, you are not thinking critically and are in a cult".

It's still fascinating how easy it is to spot TDS; they can't even go stealth. More than once I've heard someone describe themselves as "the type to look at all sides", "find the truth in the middle"...and then all of their well-researched opinions just happen to be exactly what a terminally online Bluesky socialist thinks.
