🦊 Furry Trish Henderson / Adiago / Spacedrake Designs / Sevva-Phoenix - Furry artist who claims to be both Poly, and Monogamous with insane paranoia about people stealing their mediocre, ripped-off artwork.

Further adding to the suspected ADHD topic - apparently Andor was just too boring for her and she didn’t like it. Even her friend Kit had earlier said that the show started out slow but did gain momentum later on, which I can confirm having also watched it. I wonder if she ever got that far or if she just gave up because it wasn't fast-paced enough. She’s also mad about newer Star Wars shows getting cancelled even though they were "new media that actually stays truthful to the source". Wasn’t she just complaining about the new Alien movie in basically the same way?

She's also been going on about how bad The Crow looks and she's allowed because her husband is a "mega fan" and he also "knew it would be awful". Little segue into how her husband is a different kind of nerd than her with comics, even though I swear I've seen her look down on that exact kind of nerd in the past. She's also using the word "retarded" when just the other week or so she was censoring herself from using it and saying that she doesn't belittle the mentally disabled or whatever unlike those that do use such words.

I like that she alluded to the more likely reason she's mocking it, and it isn't her husband being a fan.

"muh grandma <3 <3 <3" every time she brings up her grandma it sounds more and more artificially sweet, even if this time it's just a vague post.

I'm surprised she just came out and said she was inspired by the movie, instead of trying to fabricate some unrealistic way she actually came up with how her drakes breathe fire independently. I guess she sort of did, with how she phrased it as "her invention" of how her drakes breathe fire.

Small update on the Youtube/art front. Long story short I wandered over there to see if she'd uploaded any more speedpaint things, and couldn't find her.

So by going through the thread and finding links I'd previously posted, I was able to find she'd changed her username to ArtbyAdiya, and she has indeed uploaded something in the past week.

She uploaded a twenty-minute long time lapse of some concept of a mobile drake food stand, and in the video's description she links to one where the whole thing is narrated. It offers both a look at how she constructs and renders scenes, how she uses a lot of pre-made assets, has pretty basic "inspiration" and questionable execution of concepts (the "travel mode" for the stall looks incredibly unwieldy for example) struggles with simple things like perspective and the anatomy of a large creature rolling around, etc. If you ever wanted to hear what her voice sounds like, here it is. There's some bonus lore in there, like that the element amanathine she came up with is basically nuclear, drakes can do "whatever they want" when they are done with their military duty so this guy decided to become a traveling chef, and her world is VERY strict sci-fi even though this piece has a "semi-fantasy" feel to it so it should be considered an outlier, because their technology is soo advanced. Even though the more her world-building progresses the more sci-fantasy it feels, with the departure from actual high tech settings to space-hippie-one-with-nature-low-tech settings.

All right, hi this is Adi, and I am here doing the August challenge, um, trying to come up with some unique concept designs. Basically what we're going for here is utilizing each of the three components in a way that can be incorporated into my universe. Um, so basically instead of directly copying the ideas and picking something boring, like putting ore on a crab or you know something like the giant crab out of Moana, I decided that for each of these challenges, um, I'm, going to keep a strict rule that it must conform to the reality of my alien universe. So here you see me sketching various ideas, um, in universe. We have a traveling chef on his mount and I'm incorporating some of the themes already early on. I've got the crab utilized as armor on the dinosaur. Um, you can't really see it now, but the crystals have been utilized, um, as a power supply, so in universe a certain type of crystal that I've come up with is the power supply mainly used by my people. Um, so this is actually fit in rather well. I also incorporated the same color crystal in, you know, dangly things hanging off of the traveling caravan.

Um, so after I came up with the basic ideas I decided to create three separate canvases. Um, this is the first of the three, and as you can see I forgot to hit record, um, so basically you're, you're missing the section of me doing the line work and the tweaking and all of that, but this is the first real view of the breakdowns that I started to create of the little guy, uh, in his little popup shop, serving some delicious worm meet to the guests, and I thought it was a really cool idea that I came up with, so I went full steam ahead with it, and as you can see I wasn't really 100% on the colors so I messed around with them off and on off and on, um, the creature I had already created he's part of my IP and so I just transferred him into this little concept and built upon it. I've got the crab’s shell as armor on his back, um, obviously the claws are armor on his limbs. We've got amethyst crystals hanging from a sun shade attached to mechanical arms on the back of the chair. I kind of referenced elephants, um, Asian elephants, Indian elephants, the sort of thing plus adding my own sci-fi elements. So you can see there's a bag that has hexagons on it that has a shovel inside of it for digging the pit where the chef will insert his crystals, because they need to be, you know, centered pretty evenly underneath the grill, so you don't want them, you know, off center and then have too much heat in one part of the grill. So um we we went with that, um, and then this is just basically me detailing. I'm using the textures of the knives as details on the cutting board and a few other things that you'll see later in the video which I thought was very clever.

Um, as for the chef himself he's using bowls with the same kind of green gilding on them as well, uh, again um taking inspiration from the knives, so that was one way they were incorporated into the general theme. The other way I incorporated the knives was the hilt and scabbard of the the one that appeared to be made out of ivory. It had a iridescent sheen on it so I decided to make the grill itself based on those colors, so the legs of the grill have the darker iridescence and then the actual grill itself has the lighter iridescence, and then of course like some rusting and age from constantly being traveling and, you know, wear and tear. General use. Um, the creature that he's cooking is a gigantic worm from from the deserts, so clearly he is a great hunter and a chef and he enjoys cooking for the local people who happen to be traveling through the deserts that he also explores. Now in this part I decided I didn't really want to go with the idea of the nuclear powered crystals directly under the heat of the grill so I added a power cord connecting the two because it just seemed more logical if you can actually control the amount of heat directly, uh, rather than nuclear powered rocks just kind of sitting underneath your grill and hoping you don't incinerate your delicious worm meat. And with that the first page is done.

Next, I wanted to do a view from the back showing, you know, the little dinosaur enjoying himself, so rolling around in the water, this kind of thing, and then also what the sun shades would look like opened up. Um, obviously it was sort of just my own enjoyment at this point I've got the idea it's solid I’m running with it. I also did breakdowns off to the side of the bowls themselves, and then since the little chef had multiple bags on his dinosaur, including cushions because you can't very well have entire chairs fitting into little backpacks, so he's got cushions that he offers to the guests while they're eating his delicious barbecue worm meat, as well as a breakdown sketch of the dinosaur himself. He's just a cute little fella, um, not much to say about it, uh, they're called “deena-moos” [??? couldn’t hear and I think she made it up anyways] they're from my universe, they like eating plants and leaves and they're a native to the desert, so they have no problem with the harsh climate there. Um, as you can see now I'm just detailing the breakdowns and doing you know concepting here and there. I did do a texture and then obviously put it into perspective and then placed it on top of the sun shade itself, because I wanted it to be a bit more perfectionist than I probably should have cared about, and here you just see me painting the sand in, adding some generic plant assets. These are aquatic plants, um, from the Clip Studio store, I will later go in and paint them in properly, but right now I'm just getting a feel for the scene itself. It's quite bright and I don't normally work with colors this bright, so it was a bit of a challenge, but one that I definitely have enjoyed.

Now as you can see here I'm starting to detail the water, I'm adding in the water line, um, some sand ridges that you can see inside the water, and don't worry he's not floating on top of the water, we're going to put him inside the water shortly. I'm basically just setting up the scene and getting everything sorted like how I want it and then I add in the water on top of the dinosaur himself so that he's not floating on top of the environment. Now I do the little closeup of him in the foreground, adding in his texture stripes. He has little tiny scales that I add in, this sort of detailing, as well as the cushions and the knife itself. Now funny thing about the knife, um, it's straight up from my universe, so totally sci-fi, uh- amanathine-based knife, the same as the blue crystals in the first page that we saw, so it's essentially a nuclear powered knife, however I totally forgot at this point that it was supposed to be made partially out of bone/ivory, so you'll see me at the very end of this part of the video, um, correct my mistake and make the middle section of the knife white. I was also having a bit of problems of the perspective, ugh, the perspective of the cushions underneath the sun shade, so I went and used a couple 3D assets from the CSP store set, them up got them looking how I wanted, and then just drew them in my hand, basically the rest of this is just detailing, shading, um, painting the plants, adding highlight things like that, making everything look good and shiny, and then I start to add in, you know, descriptions of everything going on. I add some delicious grass that the dinosaur is munching on, and just in general detailing the entire scene.

All right from here, um, I start doing all of the rest of the details, basically wrapping up this section. Not that much left to say about it it's just generalized tweaking adding a little edge to the sun shade things, like that, um, details in terms of labeling everything on the breakdown, and and wrapping up making things clean, checking typos, that sort of thing, and then you'll see at the very end is when I finally realize oops forgot to color that half bone half mana knife, so I go on ahead and do that.

All right, and with that we are starting on the final page. This one was a bit complicated because I wasn't really sure how I wanted the layout of the page itself to go. So you can see in the beginning I'm just doing basic things, adding on some clothing designs to the little guy eating at the chef's restaurant, um, just generalized ideas, and then I decided to alter the breakdown of the sun shades and show more, like, how they're stored in transit and things like that, as well as doing an important breakdown of the crab turned armor, because, um, some people didn't really understand what was going on with that, so I figured I would do a three, 3D-ish turnaround of the claw into armor. As most people know, crab claws are in fact hollow as are their legs, same with the lobsters, so you could fundamentally stuff anything inside of them, and in this case we stuffed the dinosaur’s legs into the crab claws for protection from the gigantic sand worms. And from here I just begin inking.

After I've got most of the things like sketched out, I just want to start inking in and getting it done. I'm using a very textured ink pencil brush that I just got recently, I also use the same brush for painting, uh, so it's a really great brush, but the downside is when you have to do fine detail work like little tiny lines, uh, for example the lines on the marinade brush that the chef is holding, these tend to get all glitchy and gross looking so I had to swap to a rather clean inker to do the tiny details in this case, and that's only because that section of the canvas is actually significantly smaller, which means everything in it is smaller. Um, if that scene had been the entire page it wouldn't have been an issue, but because it was, I kind of had to improvise, and I really like the texture of that brush so I wanted to keep using it stubbornly. So, um, there are points here and there like the straps on the guest's outfit they are inked in a traditional, just small round brush, um, pretty much everything else is used the textured pencil, including the dinosaur in the background. I did have a bit of trouble with him initially, so I referenced several different, um, pictures of iguanodons to try and come up with the anatomy of him rolling around in the muck. It was a little bit, uh, taxing but, I think for what it is and that he's rather in the background it worked out pretty well, so I'm not going to dwell on it. You can see that I just kind of in him in really fast and then just kept moving along, because I was really eager to get this final page done.

Um, there had actually been about a week gap, like a five day gap in between the previous page and this one because I, uh, had a minor injury with my back, so I hadn't been able to work, and then when I finally was, I just really wanted to get this done. Granted, the idea as a whole was super fun and I loved it and this was a great challenge and I will totally do it again, but just in this particular moment in time it was like bad timing to get an injury, so I just wanted to push through this third page, and so it's not quite as on the level as the previous two, but I think that's okay because this one's just a follow-up page, it's not meant to be excessively detailed, it's just meant to show breakdowns and details of all of the different components of the first two pages. So we got the armor breakdown, we have how the grill and cutting board stored together while the chef is in transit, um, the same thing with the shades, and also I threw in his data pad because remember this is a sci-fi universe and as semi fantasy as this picture happens to look, this is still a entire race of people that have extremely advanced technology, and after they leave the military they can do whatever they like once they've done their service, so in this case we have the chef. He decided to trade in his firearms for a chef's knife, which is greatly appreciated in the deserts of Amari where he is. It's a bad desert, very hot, very little, um, plant life and water, so when he comes through and sets up his little shop, anybody that also happens to be traveling through that expanse of the desert gets the notification ping and they come out and have a good meal, give him a few credits, and then, you know, take a break, rest, get out of the sun for a bit, and then continue on their own travels.

Right now I am just doing basic detailing on on the guest, so his skin tone, fur tone I suppose, um pattern, horns, things like this. They're dragon people so obviously they would have horns. Anyway, um, incorporating the same colors from the first couple pictures of the chef right on to the next one, uh, he's a pretty solid design, very simple, I like simple, and then I just start photo bashing together the wonderful, um, stone wind chimes. So originally I was thinking seashell, but Amari is pretty far away from the coast, at least where he is, so I thought maybe something more like agates or geodes hanging, and then the crystals that were in the reference images as well, so I tossed one of those in for fun, and then I just really had a blast trying to figure out how to do this holographic display of the desert itself and his location pinging um on the map so that everybody nearby can find his stall and come get something delicious to eat. He is slathering that gigantic worm steak in some very spicy red sauce, and, um, it's typical for the Amarans, they really enjoy hot and spicy things despite coming from hot and spicy desert, they eat hot and spicy as well, so it's just heat upon heat that's pretty much their culture and being a southern dweller himself, he is more than happy to add extra spice whenever somebody asks.

Now right now I'm basically feeling it out, what I want to do for the dinosaur in the background. He is in water, technically it's not mud, oases are sometimes mud in the dry season but in this case it's kind of the wet season, the water level is a bit higher, so it's more watery than mud, so, um, originally I was going to have a bunch of mud dripping off of him but I decided to nix that in favor of just water, so he's making a big mess, splashes everywhere, and of course the chef is like “oh no you're going to get mud and water in my delicious food, stop rolling!” In general it's a very fun scene, and the last thing I'm going to toss in is something I just threw in. I used to do Arc dossier fan arts type thing, so I decided to put the first two pages in this setup, so hopefully you like it, and thanks for watching, bye-bye.

Meanwhile Kit's been drawing her drake, and dare I say it, she does the drake leg/feet better than Trish. Trish's comments seem pretty unenthusiastic.

Oh no, the movie stars a woman that has said “Free Palestine”, has "redneck singing" in it, and is long! How will she survive?

Edit: did she go into this movie expecting it to be about anyone else than Snow? Because the trailers made it pretty apparent. Bonus full-blown psychopath and nazi claims for Zegler because she said something once that Trish decided meant she wants to kill all the jews.

She’s also mad about newer Star Wars shows getting cancelled
I like how she's complained about Fallout, Alien Romulus, Andor, new Hunger games, and to a degree Ahsoka, which almost all have reviews from good to great, but then says Acolyte and Kenobi are the best??

Granted, Acolyte has much better critic reviews than viewer reviews (just like Star Trek: Discovery which she shits on), but Trish really should learn the difference between "quality" and "what she likes".

Ah, again the "I refuse to join an art challenge unless its specifically caters to me", like none of the Inktober challenges were "sci-fi enough" to her.
EDIT: Loving the "strict rule it must conform to the reality of my world", aka, the reality you invent, so you can literally do whatever and say "yup just as I intended". It couldn't even be a traveling chef preparing a freshly caught alien-crab, because that's something that might be actually interesting.
Also she "forgot" to record the lineart, so if something just happens to be traced again....
Also fixed the wtf was going on with the eating scene, the customer and chef are literally on the same level so why is the other one drawn as a munchkin, I have no idea.

EDIT2: Fuck it, here's marginally fixed perspective, though she's put the vanishing points bit too close.

Drawing dogs would mean you have to actually make something look recognizable, and currently she needs to trace even her own dog.

Once again, she's lying about when characters were created. Trish is claiming that she created Allena in 2009 and that technically since Ezrael is that character “revisited” they’re totally the same character and Ezrael is a 15 year old concept as a result. I don't think two characters having vaguely the same color scheme/markings counts enough to call them the same character. What is the point of making the claim of "having the same character for exactly 15 years" just to clarify "actually it's not EXACTLY the case"?

First off, Allena didn’t appear until late 2011 according to the FA onion archive. “Rift drakes” themselves didn’t appear until Auril did, and that was earlier the same year.

This is my new secondary "fursona" dragonsona, whichever.

She has no name. She is nothing, no one, null.

While she has normal shaped wings and no obvious defects she has a lot of problems which will be later revealed

She's the darkness that I hide. I think everyone has a part of them they wish to hide, and she is that for me.

She's many things and it'd be hard to explain them all. The most obvious is her lack of feminine figure whatsoever. This plays a big role in my life. I suppose I may reveal more slowly over time.

Expect to see a lot more of her.

"Can't you see I'm busy here?" said the voice belonging to the nearly-pitch black rift mottled in ringlet-style spots.
"N-noth-wait, YOU'RE A GIRL?!"
Allena pushed the groupie she was mid-sex with on his back and turned to the doorway where flashing lights and loud music was coming in from. "Sure why not. But this guy here thinks he's doing a guy. Now shut up get outta here, I said I'm busy"

It's just like her to be smoking while going cowgirl on a random guy that was at her bands performance.

"it's all i see"

Allena actually has two different colored eyes. Betcha didn't know that :3
The other one is always hidden under her hair, heterochromia is very uncommon in rift drakes. She wears contacts but the color match is not perfect. in due time you'll get to see her other color.

This was a pose I'd done for a commish which was rejected [fine with me I loved it loads and am glad I got to keep it] so I put Allena in this pose, feeling defeated and humiliated. She binds her chest to hide what very little breasts she has, and even her fans dont know she's actually female. Her past and the way she was raised made her wish and hope she was male, and having a father that always wanted a son, she always felt second rate and garbage because she was a girl. She figured by hiding her real gender and pretending to be a boy that she could escape the pain. But eventually it's too much for anyone, and her addiction to Mana(Amanathazin) starts leaving her in a defeated slump. She feels like there's no one there for her but somehow finds comfort in the most unlikely..of people.~

Just a tidbit from a story that's floating around in my head.

Tracks, though, considering as far back as 2004 she admitted to having "started using drugs again" because of stupid emotional reasons like her man being too far away.

personal pic of my 'fursona' Allena being unbound by everything. No chest binding no clothes [not really] and a regrowing wing (yes they regenerate if torn off or maimed to the point of dropping themselves)

So pretty much this, I did things a bit differently for this pic since it was a moody theme I thought my typical bold acrylic shading would overpower it so I did a lot of airbrushing and use of overlay layers much like [well exactly like] the previous picture of her here.

Was nice to draw random stuff I guess, and as an afterthought I threw her bass in there as well. :>

I doubt anyone remembers Adiago&Elegy(holy fuck old art screams) my incestuous Chaos infected siblings from when I first made this account...But I decided, hey..why wouldnt General Kiel (Kisu's younger sibling) experiment on his squadron? And hence this girl was born. She carries a hybrid of the Chaos virus, it's been deactivated so it cannot spread, but the genome's been infused with Amanathine from the planets core, to give a strength boost in combat. It's basically like hitting your bloodstream with massive amounts of steroids all at once, and the effect causes an almost juggernaut like response in those who take it. They often cannot be stopped without being killed. Amanathine being extremely toxic, also took several hundred studies and experiments before one rather sinister doctor decided to take a sample of the living Chaos virus, dissect the cells and shove Amanathine in the core of the host Chaos cell. This bred the first prototype Abyss Drake soldiers infused with mana.

This girl here however, has some serious issues, as all of Kiel's subordinates do/did. So she is forced to wear an electric collar powered by Amanathine crystals that will cause her intense physical pain if she starts behaving...homicidally.

Anyway, it was fun trying to come up with a character without a light underbelly for once! and as usual, like EVERYTHING ELSE I MAKE...she's GREY
Incest mention where it was totally not needed.

Totally random male victim for Ezrael here, she was hungry. She'll probably make him cum at least half a dozen more times before she's through with him. He'd better hope he has a quick refractory time, his life probably depends on it.

finally finished, it's been waiting about a month now. e_e

Ezrael, the girl you've seen in my gallery a bit recently, finally has a working reference and not a janky sketch ref.

Info: [will fill in later]

I guess she drew both of them crying and moping a lot. That's the only similarity I can see beyond the basic grey with green-blue eyes.

"y-you're supposed to be protecting me.." the drake whispered, tears rolling down her trembling cheeks. Ezrael curled up into a ball, tucking tail between her legs, shaking. Her mind couldn't understand what had happened, and she couldn't swallow the pain she felt. She was crippled by it.

[STORY] Soft, rounded ears drooped substantially from words that stung more than any knife could. "Whore," she knew what it meant. She'd called others it before, filth. Low-class life forms unworthy of a proper title. But to hear it herself, directed to her specifically, it was a first.

Ezrael froze, her eyes welling with tears that threatened to pour from her eyes at any moment. How was it possible? Why did it happen? It wasn't right. It wasn't fair. The drake stared silent, repeating the words under her breath and suddenly she swallowed what it meant. Of course! It made sense¦That was what she was from the beginning. That was why she was treated the way she was, like something easily replaceable. Ezrael felt it now, and she swallowed and thought of the conversation she'd had prior.

Somehow, this hurt more than other things. Somehow, the amount it bothered her was unparalleled to any other thing she'd heard, and the ex-soldier drake had heard it all. But to be directly insulted, by the only other drake she'd seen in years, and a drake she'd become accustomed to being near; for doing nothing other than asking questions that needed asking, she crumpled.

Ezrael's eyes lifted and she tilted her head to the side slightly as she smiled one last time. "Take care of yourself." she held the smile, curling her muzzle as much as she could muster and blinking back the tears. "I won't bother you again," she said the words, and meant them this time.

The drake slid her fingers along the ships walls, holding herself on her feet as she found her quarters, the doors sliding open then closed behind her where the drake collapsed to her knees, staring at her shaking hands. "Look how weak you are" she said to herself, her own voice trembling as much as her hands. "You know what you are now, there's no going back," her voice was a whisper as she attempted to calm herself. "Just stop Ez, just stop. It's over. It's all over."

Arguments of how good a person is. Arguments of selflessness versus selfishness.
Pain from being let down. Pain from being put aside.

You give and give, everything of yourself and in the end you're left with sand, an empty coast, an empty hand. A beautiful scene you watch alone. A broken heart. Devastation.

It's probably the most painful thing to be self aware of; your own giving nature, and of other's natures to take. To do for themselves. To put material items above you. To put new shiny things above you. New people above you.

And then in the end simple requests are shoved aside for inane material bullshit, and you find yourself, the last day of your time on that planet, walking miles down an empty coast. Crying.

What do you do?
What do you do...

"Resign myself to never feel this way again" is what you whisper and it can't be heard over the waves. But in that moment, you close your heart off. Because it's better to be alone, than to be used.

this week was supposed to be the happiest of my recent life, i was supposed to go pick up my puppy with someone i love more than anyone else. someone ive dropped my entire life for to be with, twice now. someone i wanted so much to be as good to me as i was to them.

but..i found out recently two of the men closest in my life were lying to me, a good friend and someone else. lying about pretty awful shit. but i think the icing on the cake was seeing a dating profile that stated them as 'single and looking' for 'hookups' when i was told to my face, in person, it was 'to find friends'

see.....i just came back from a trip..tto help this person..and i..and i drove so far and i did wso much..so loyal i was so loyal..and used. i knew i should have looked through their phone when i was handed it unlocked, but i wass a ggod person and i respected privacy..put it down, in bag of other thigns while i waited for his surgery.

went to him after work..exhausted, drove 7 hours to be there..to be lied to and hurt. my fucking god. i dont dump on FA often but i have never felt so bad in my life. i had to get on anti anxiety meds months ago because i was having constant panic attacks because of stress hed put me under, and even those arent helping me to not sob my fucking eyes out right now. to the pint where its hard to breathe and i just want to lay in bed but i have work today..have to be responsible. have rent coming up.. ii didnt even tell my friends where i was going hen i left, i just went to them. it was an instant reaction, its what youd normally do for someone you care for. what anyone shoud do for someone they care for..

idk what to do..its like all the effort in the world to make someone a less selfish, more considerate person failed. and even my recent memories are nothing but pain and sadness because i was left abandoned while i was visiting so unimportant materialistic self-indulgence could be done..and i just wanted to watch the sun go down on the beach one last time before i had to make the 7 hour drive dhome...got home sick as a dog, coughing, hacking, full on 101F fever, laid in bed, woke up and went to work the next day still with a fever..wasnt even spoken to for 2 days after i got back and then when i asked simple question of what things where i was greeted with yelling and hatred and now i see its because of this..intention to fuck with other people.
and at this point im just ramblign because i thurt so bad i cant stand it. i tried
i tried so hard

Ezrael watched as the other drake cut the tether on his back and drifted away using his suit thrusters. She grabbed after him, her hand reaching and missing, the cable attaching her to the ship snapping her back with a yelp. Ezrael felt her fur flushing hot on her face, tears bubbling in her eyes, burning the membrane as they drifted into her helmet. She begged over the comms, her voice rising in pitch until it finally cracked and she began to sob, tugging at the maximum of her tether as a small drop ship pulled up and the bay doors slid open. "Stop!" she cried, as her entire ship's crew silently listened to the female drake's voice crumble over comms, trembling the words "P-please!" she hiccuped, tears flowing freely and the heat fogging her helmet. The soft crackle of the comms was all she heard, even as she screamed "Dii- Please!" one final time, until the telltale signal cutoff was heart in her helmet, the sound of him disconnecting his feed from hers, and cutting comms entirely.

Ezrael watched in silence as the drop ship zipped off, using a gravity assist to hit light-speed. If her ears could droop in her helmet, they would, and she hovered in the weightless space, shaking all over, staring at the place the blue-eyed drake had been. The silence of the comms would go on for a very long time before the soft buzz of incoming feed came through.

"Ey...Bossman...you've been out there about eight hours now....Boss...He's gone. We need to reel ya in now...Your suit is at 13 percent nitrogen, you're going to suffocate out there." came the soft accented voice of Vincent, the aged alcoholic who served no real purpose aboard her vessel aside from negotiations and bartering. Ezrael felt a twitch pinch the back of her neck and she swallowed. "He'll be back...I know he will...He has to-he has to come back..."

"Boss-" comms rackled again, a deeper voice, more concerned. Rigel had obviously wrestled the communication from Vincent aboard their light frigate and was talking softly to her. "Ez, you can't stay out there forever...A ship needs her captain."
Ezrael interrupted "I never wanted to be your captain, I quit."

"Boss, no one wanted any of this. But everyone chose you to make the decisions, keep us safe, and lead us. I'm bringing you in. I'm sorry."

Ezrael felt the snap of the tether as it was wound and jerked her back and she began shrieking instantly. "Don't! Leave me here! Leave me here!!" she was screaming now, in full on hysterics as she was reeled in, her body violently shaking as she was dragged into the airlock and pressurized. It would be Vincent that fought her for her helmet, decompressing it and allowing fress air to hit her lungs. It was then that they saw her eyes. The augmentation made it easy to tell her moods by her eyecolor, but now they were a color unseen before. A dark red with green around her slitted pupils. She'd jerk out of Vincent's grasp, shouting angry incoherent words.

The next thing she felt was the sting of a large syringe in her shoulder and Ezrael turned, her eyes locking with those of Sirius, whom had stayed silent during all of this. They met his and asked him "why" as she slumped from the strong narcotic. Rigel caught her by her shoulder and looked to Sirius quietly. The engineer didn't want to be pulled into things but here he was. With a sigh he helped Sirius carry the unconscious captain to the med-bay where they'd lay her down. Even in her unconscious state, Ezrael's eyes streamed tears down her cheeks. Sirius looked down at her, a solemn look on his face. Even Vincent was silent when Rigel and him walked out, doors sealing behind them. "Look, uh, it's obviously not good" Vincent started and Sirius raised a hand to shut the drunk up.

"This isn't something we can help with...Just...give her some time. And...if any transmissions do come from him, delete them."
Sirius walked away, sighing heavily.

I decided, I wouldn't be able to get the feeling across without doing something...extra. So, I did some very basic animations, just a few frames, all colored though..To...I guess...let out some of my bottled feelings.

She had them all fooled, even herself. The truth was, she had imprinted. And with that imprint bond severed, she was left a shell of her former self, weaker, and more vulnerable. The poor drake's eyes said it all..

You dragged the depths of my soul
Until you found it
A darkened room locked away
I let you in

You looked inside then you turned away
My makeshift savior
He left me right here in my chains
But still I whisper
(I’m calling out)
Still I call you

I never wanted you to see
The darkest part of me
I knew you’d run away
I waited but you never came

So afraid to be alone
I tried to let you go
Still I find you lost inside the darkest part of me

It’s my descent, a familiar pain
Of watching all I believed fade away

Of traitors and fools
Of beggars and thieves
Which mask will you choose?
What is underneath?

I never wanted you to see
The darkest part of me
I knew you’d run away
I waited but you never came

So afraid to be alone
I tried to let you go
Still I find you lost inside the darkest part of me

Am I the black stain of your perfect life?
Am I the darkness that you need to hide?

It covers you
It spills over you

I never wanted you to see
The darkest part of me
I knew you’d run away
I waited but you never came

So afraid to be alone
I tried to let you go
Still I find you lost inside the darkest part of me

[Story] Ezrael couldn't stop herself, every night she curled into her sheets and cried. Sheets laced with Dmitri's scent, the pillow they'd got together, the blanket he himself had coiled in. She'd hold the stuffed earth-dog to her chest, and cry. The tiny things he'd done, and memories she had hurt, and never ceased. The pain never stopped. Even her dreams were of no respite, she dreamt of Dmitri nightly. Most nights he'd speak to her, tell her of his betrayals and why she didn't mean anything, why he had used her, but some nights...Some nights in her dreams he embraced her so tight, so warmly she could catch his scent, feel his heat under his fur, taste his tongue in her own muzzle. Some nights she felt strong hands holding her own, and heard promises whispered so softly that they faded into the wind. Nights like these were far worse than the nightmares, for when she awoke she found herself in her bunk, in her room, alone; the other half of her bed cold, lifeless, filled with a body pillow that could never replace what she'd lost.

It was nights like this, that she'd cry even in her sleep, and one could almost hear the despair she carried in her heart..."Let go" they said, angry she felt sick anytime she saw familiar things. "He's garbage" they said, and she knew it. Ezrael never argued, never denied any of it. He was. He'd done unforgivable things, but the heart ached. It missed his warmth and his touch. Subconsciously she would roll into that body pillow every night, hoping to seek the warm back she loved to burrow against. And each morning she awoke a little more empty, a little more broken. For Ezrael, time didn't heal her wounds. It carved them deeper, making the pain she felt and the damage and scars evermore permanent on her fragile mind and her even more delicate heart.

[STORY][Trigger warning, torture]The cold, damp floor had become the beaten drakes home in recent weeks. She’d been kicked, stomped, tortured and abused from within the cuffs that bound her. Ezrael despised the fact that her captors didn’t have the gumption to try that without the electric cuffs and the sedatives they kept pumping into her veins.

Eventually, she gave in, inside that dark room, time blurring together in a series of beatings and torture sessions. Her spines were harvested again and again, each time they’d be painfully severed or torn from her body so the mongrels could perform their archaic and primitive tests.

Ezrael resigned herself to the fact that she would indeed die here. If not from starvation, than from exhaustion on her heart. Each and every time that cell door opened she’d stare defiantly and with a calm malice in her eyes. And each and every time they came she’d fight, until she ran out of willpower. The previous night while suffering the usual treatment, she'd been exposed to a "new" type of interrogation. Her jumpsuit, what was left of it, was slashed across the chest and while one man held her by the jaw, talking down to her and calling her meat; another had his hand shoved in her suit, grabbing her tits and expressing in excitement to his companion that she had piercings. When Ezrael had attempted to jerk free, she was punched hard on the side of the head and knocked out, spat upon. They promised the next day they had something very special in mind for her and the exhausted drake groaned when the door was shut, slowly relaxing in her cuffs and hanging against the wall, the hum and crackle of electricity not even phasing her ears anymore.

It was but a few hours later, that the commotion occurred outside her prison, and when a beacon of light blinded her, she'd squinted upward toward the source. The figure silhouetted by the light was unfamiliar, as was his scent and she forced herself to lift her weary head and choke out a soft "Who are you?" to which the figure responded in a low, masculine voice, "Your savior. I thought I smelled Amanathine…And it led me to you. I'm breaking you out of this filthy, backwater world. You're one of the prototypes…aren't you?"

Ezrael almost laughed, but her bruised ribs hurt so badly she could hardly breathe so she just slumped back against the wall and allowed her head to graze the filthy, encrusted cement. "Just leave me here…" she'd mutter, in the back of her mind adding "Let them kill me."

The man who stood in the doorway, walked in, kneeling before her and reaching out a hand, touching a few strands of filthy black hair. "You poor little drake" he'd say, looking down into eyes that he could barely discern as blue in the darkness. "Just who broke you? Surely not these peasants…No, it had to have been something else" he mused while his massive paw slid under the stringy hair and he rubbed her cheek fur with a thumb, combing it in the wrong direction and leaving small trails of tufted hair. With a massive hand he grabbed her cuffs and yanked, pulling her body and the cuffs toward him in an instant, and severing the electrical connection between the wall and the restraints. Electricity arced through the dimly lit room, cracking walls and blasting off small chips of rubble before the safety caught and shut it off. For the first time in perhaps weeks, there was no hum, no noise. Only silence.

"Come now, little thing" he said, holding a hand towards her. But Ezrael was too frail, too dehydrated, too starved, too bruised and too battered to move. The tranquilizers that she'd been jabbed with hours before were potent, as they had to be to counter her steroids in her physiology, and they lasted for hours, well into the next "session." It would be the much larger man who again, knelt down and scooped Ezrael into his arms, cradling her in a fetal position and carrying her from the cell, her wrists for the time being, still locked in the cuffs. For now, his only goal was to remove one of his own species from that dreadful place, and if he could, save her life.

Ezrael faded in and out of consciousness during the trip, having not realized she'd been transported to a vehicle, and her cuffs broken off of her. She could neither discern if it had been minutes or hours between when she'd been "rescued," only that she was moving. Her head lay against the lap of the man who'd saved her and her cloudy eyes, full of tears barely could make out his image. Soft grey fur, stripes, a long mane. She felt herself slip and spin into a daze, the vertigo making her drift out of consciousness again. In her exhausted and broken mind, she'd reached and taken the paw of the man driving, tears running down her face as she came and went. He'd occasionally look down, run his claws through her mess of hair with the other hand, but otherwise stayed silent and drove. His intention was to get them to a hidden alcove where his dropship was docked, get her onboard, hook her up to the medical diagnostic machines, and do his best to repair any damage. He'd be snapped from his thoughts when the girl under his arm cried in her sleep, a name he did not recognize. She'd whispered and squeezed his hand firmly, "…Dmitri…"

Accompanying song:
I can almost feel you breathing
Like a whisper in my ear
I remember how you lost me
Or how I lost you
I stare into the blackness
It's staring back at me
Why did I try to live without you?
I want you, I need you
Open up my eyes
I need your light again
Burning me inside
I need your love again
I can feel our hearts collide
I can feel our hearts ignite
Open up my eyes
I'm yours again
Will I wake up from this moment?
Will I see you slip away?
Or is this a new beginning
Of beauty and rage?
Where did I lose my passion?
Where did I start to fade?
Without you my world is darkness
I won't let go again
Open up my eyes
I need your light again
Burning me inside
I need your love again
I can feel our hearts collide
I can feel our hearts ignite
Open up my eyes
I'm yours again
I'm yours again
I'm never letting go
I'm never letting go
I'm never letting go
I'm yours again
I'm yours again
I'm yours again
Open up my eyes
I need your light again
Burning me inside
I need your love again (I'm yours again)
I can feel our hearts collide
I can feel our hearts ignite
Open up my eyes
I'm yours again

http://g6jy5jkx466lrqojcngbnksugrcf.../1539582535.adiago_love-you-to-death.gif.html
[STORY]It was cold. The reactor hummed somewhere below, vibrating the interior walls of the Behemoth. Ezrael lay with her head against one of those steel walls lined with false texture to make them seem reminiscent of a home she now couldn't remember. Her thumb digit stroked lazily across the acrylic crystalline screen of her data pad, flicking through old holo-images and video clips. Her eyes drooped half closed as she banged the back of her skull against the wall thrice, squinting, furrowing her brow-spots and sounding a soft groan in the back of her throat.

It had been two weeks since the crew of the Behemoth; her friends, her family--had pulled her from the icy clutches of space in a vain attempt to chase a man long gone. It had been two weeks since Ezrael began to have anxiety, panicking in the middle of the night, waking up screaming, hallucinating from exhaustion, and struggling with crippling withdrawal that would never be sated. It was two weeks since she'd begun her covert tracking of the suns and stars surrounding the galaxy, storing any useful information on her private server. Her trust in Sirius, shattered. Her dislike of Vincent, even moreso than before. She tolerated Rigel, the third member of her crew, but only because he did not mind her sitting beside him while he worked.

Often, they'd sit together in the engineering bay, or in halls while he repaired conduits. She'd sit there, never speaking, but just being there. When the emotional torment became too much for her, she'd wander off and Rigel was fairly certain what she did while she was gone.

With their Captain in shambles, and the second officer effectively a dead-man-walking, the Behemoth crawled through space with little direction or heading; the light frigate only stopping at habitable worlds for the bare necessities. Ezrael never left the dropship at these times, she holed herself in her cabin and avoided interaction with anyone and everyone.

It would be daybreak somewhere, halfway through the third week that she received a transmission from a nearby star stating there was a "Grey, large male drake. Confirmed to be striped with a long, non-military styled mane." This transmission would lead her to creating an elaborate weave of lies to force the crew to stop. With the reasoning of her seeking self-help, she descended onto the planet in search of the man described.

Unfortunately, she would never get that far. A problem across this region of space, was interspecies sales. Subjects meeting clients preferences would be captured and kept barely alive until payment was made. Ezrael was a very rare commodity. Before she could conclude her search, she'd wound up in the claws of a very nasty organization seeking to harvest the Amanathine substance from augmented drake blood, and use it to power primitive radioactive laser guns and small blast bombs. How lucky…That she'd be found by the man she sought, and how disheartening for her when the man who met the description, was not in fact the man she'd imprinted on……..

everyone has them, whether or not we see them is the difference.
some chains are self inflicted, whilst some are placed on by others.
and some chains we have a hard time breaking or letting go of.

I wasnt able to sleep last night, i woke up at 7am, so since I couldnt sleep I doodled.
Ezrael has a very bad time with chains.

“I never retcon lore!!!” I'm with Stoat, changing things over time counts as retconning. Outside of changing drakes having boobs or "generic furry legs", she’s constantly adding and then having to remove her exes’/friends’ drake OCs depending on how they’ve wronged her and bemoaning that she needs to change up the main story.

Surprised her cat-hate has taken this long to bleed through onto Blue Sky. Speaking of Blue Sky, they're working on adding videos next, which was a very recently announced update. Gifs are probably not too far off.

Because she got sick eating chicken and hasn't been "as sick" since cutting chicken out of her diet, it must be because not only are commercially-farmed American chickens fed "genetically modified" soy and corn, but they're "heavily gene-modified" themselves to be practically not chicken anymore and that's why she was getting sick.
chicken.png

You know what is actually genetically modified in the states? Some salmon. That's it. Everything else on the FDA's list consists of plants. The selective breeding that chicken undergoes is not the same thing as this gene modification. I also wonder if she actually got it from a more reputable source than Tyson or whoever she was bitching about, if she would still be getting sick, or if her body really is just slowly rejecting all meat. Also, is she going to stop eating fish if she discovers the horrors of fish farming? Since by her own logic, it doesn't matter that she can find fish meat that's more ethically sourced, she just needs to cut it all out.

She's been posting more art, trying to ride the migration of Brazilian Twitter users to BlueSky now that the entire country is banned from using the site.
brazil.png

It's not news by any stretch but I am always surprised at how she can bitch about drake head shapes and then turn around and be this inconsistent with anything besides a profile view.
aeryn.png

The same character with a wildly different head shape.

And more recently, she posted some kind of "preview" of Ezrael screaming about something. The head shape continues to deteriorate.
head.png

The jaw looks completely dislocated and she's given her asymmetrical crackhead teeth. I guess that hand's supposed to be curled into a tense, angry claw.

She's also considering reviving her pre-SoftDilo dinosaur OC into an "alien" for use in her hairlizard setting.

What new hairlizard writings does she have in store?

Still going on about whatever the hell she's writing.
writing.png

She's offered zero context to what the hell she's even writing about (in all likelihood she's probably writing Ezrael's melodramatic hairlizard life down), already hides all her shit behind a paywall, and is probably sharing even less because she completely overhauled her Patreon security after Ribbi. I don't know what interest she's hoping these vague posts are going to drum up.

Apparently Trish has over time "dumbed down" her speech to sound more "white" when in actuality her very-not-white-Miami-inclinations when talking makes her very smart. So her "book" is super articulate and unlike anything else she's written because she's allowing herself to sound smart again.
novel.png

Bluesky has video now. Trish doesn't care because people can see her follower count and that's stalking. She's also still bitching about gifs.
stalkers.png

The first comment was fine, the second comment where she spergs about her super original idea with a similar layout is too much.
perspective.png

And a little tidbit of design info about Aeryn. Kit asked why Aeryn went from deep blue and white to the lighter blue color. Trish's answer feels a bit like a non-answer. Also, Aeryn supposedly had white stripes in her very first iteration. I actually have those images solely because she posted them to twitter back in 2022 and the Big Leak let me see them.

Which she then changed a few days later.

How to say you're racist without saying you're racist, unless all her "foreign friends" are somehow unschooled/unprivileged immigrants or twelve years old. And even then they probably understand English better than they speak it.
Apparently even Chibi is not intelligent enough to have non-dumbed down conversations. And considering "Miami accent" is largely defined by grammatical errors and loanwords from Spanish, not sure what she constitutes as proper speech, especially in terms of a sci-fi novel.

And she supposedly was in school in some form while living in Retro's house. Almost gonna call it that the writing is purple prose.

Edit: She also had this pearlclutching moment because a site roughly a year old should be literally perfect and let nothing through

Wow, what a professional artist anyone would love to work with.

IMG_7766.jpeg
Its your job as an artist to make it work or do what you’re paid for.
Clearly your time isn’t priceless if you have a price.

EDIT: More griping, its just laughable for a "professional artist" to talk shit of commissions she needs too much to refuse them, nobody is "forcing" her to take them, and making a "bad" design is so low on client things to complain about that she manages to come off entitled. She's the only artist I know who'd twist "they pay me well" into "they're forcing me to work with them".
And if someone made her draw a pre-existing design she dislikes, she'd complain that they don't allow her to change it.
If she doesn't want to be "forced" to make designs, she could get an actual job that doesn't deal with art.
Or maybe ask the client to pay an extra fee for her to keep her mouth shut.

Also, she now credits "CSP store" for the background of this piece, which she originally didn't.

The irony of posting that while having her username tagline basically be "will draw for money!!!!" I wonder what's going on behind the scenes that has her bitching about design choices. Didn't she announce not too long ago that she was going to be done designing anything that wasn't a hairlizard? She may have stated it somewhere else, but in the moment this is what I've found where she basically said she's done with reference sheets in general, except the occasional drake.
norefs.png

That seems to still be the case, as on all her commission information pages the closest thing to a design she offers is a custom abyss drake. On Weasyl, on her Carrd.

She also more recently decided to close abyss drake design commissions to "outsiders" because she got so pissed at Ribbi, and okayed only "friends" going for further design commissions.
Screenshot 2024-08-12 15.02.08.png

Either someone in her friend circle is trying to commission a drake from her and she's not happy about some of the design choices, or she's just bitching for no reason. I know her friend Indominus has commissioned her in the past for non-drake OC designs and he seems to be the only one, so it could be vague-bitching about him.

The file name on the raptor reference indicates it's an OC for Indominus, and she let her feelings shine in the comments that got leaked to Kemono about how she feels.

She's definitely bitched about his choices on a past drake he commissioned. Posted earlier in the thread.
Indomsdrake.png

The accompanying description with the final reference uploaded by Indominus was as follows, documented in the onion archive:

Done by the awesome Adiago

I created a Palette for this character that was absolute garbage it turns out, but the artist said it was and just did a new one. I love how pretty it turned out â¤ï¸

Thanks to Adiago for her Patience.

Abyss Drakes belong to Adiago

And Trish's description, also pulled from the onion archive:
female northern drake that I ended up redesigning towards the very end, and came out better than expected. Tri-stripe + heavy clown dappling on her shoulders, hips and ass.

commissioned by

Please note, abyss drake customs are currently closed. this original species can only be purchased through myself, anyone else is an impostor and should be reported.
If you're interested in getting your own drake, you may message me to hop on decembers waitlist.

Thanks~
And further, from the corresponding Kemono Patreon page:
full top tier ref for Indom on FA, originally they'd provided some atrocious colors which were absolute hell to work with...So I played with the colors [they wanted greys on a northern drake] I made the colors more "northern" and kept the greys, and showed them this. in the end they liked it and went with my version instead [yay]

And two years after all that, she got him to update her to be "more canon".
indominusssd drake ref remake2020.png

update.png

Ironic that originally greys couldn't happen on a northern, and yet when you look at all the "allowed" colors that is exactly the color palette range they had before the nixed them and the "improved" 2020 colors aren't canon by her own rules.
Untitled.png

She's bitched about other commissioners' design choices in the past (Raven wanting white hair and silvery coloration on a drake, etc.) but Indominus seems to still be in her friend circle, so I'm singling him out. Chibi seems content to just buy pre-existing drakes off of Trish and does her own non-drake characters via bases (or at least she did before her FA got nuked), Kit can do her own references, and any of her regulars that haven't moved on have been pretty quiet. Indominus is the only one that seemed to regularly get references from her of the lot.

Either way, she seems to have lost a few followers over such comments. I guess she sabotaged her attempt at gaining more followers with this "dark art share" she participated in recently.

If those are the colors Indominus chose, what makes them total garbage compared to Nox or Ezrael's palettes??
Screenshot 2024-09-18 11.53.26.png
And that whole "allowed colors" thing, love it how each palette is like five colors with 2% shade/saturation difference so she can make it look like there's plenty to choose from.

It seems she's suspecting someone informing people of her past:
Screenshot 2024-09-18 12.23.21.png
"Please mr bsky creators let me hide my followercount so I can prevent my followers ever finding out how shitty I am"

Also getting super emotional about her writing, I'd like to see her get criticized by an editor, like actual novelists.
Screenshot 2024-09-18 11.49.17.png
Uhhhh.... I'm more willing to believe people naming their kids after the Fallout show. But I would believe her taking those names for her future characters.

Despite saying ”AI is fine, my husband loooves to play with it”, she’s now blaming AI on.. China.
IMG_8232.jpeg
IMG_8233.jpeg
Despite the fact that the many well known/used AI image generators are powered by OpenAI, like Dall-E, Canva, Craiyon (which I tend to see lot mixed in image search because its free) that’s from US, same as Midjourney, Leonardo AI is Australian, Imagen is Google’s, Wombo Dream is Canadian, Stability AI is British….
So no, its not the Chinese shitting your english google image searches.
(If you add -ai to your searches it should filter out AI images)

She's gotten boring since locking her Twitter and hiding on BlueSky. All she does now is act high and mighty about her art and poor worldbuilding because she doesn't want to be out and open with her opinions on transgenders and different races and ruin her reputation there. The closest we get is her blaming things on China but she's still discrete about it.

I don't know, the Ribbio shitstorm was pretty funny. I'd imagine that like in her other accounts, she'll keep getting worse the more comfortable she becomes, or eventually gets found out to have a secret side-account.

Anyway, right after complaining that "the kids might see lewds!", she complains that people are afraid of seeing suggestive bare ass.

There's a big hurricane/tropical storm that, at this point of typing, has made landfall in Florida and is traveling through the American southeast.

Earlier this week, Trish decided with basically no real prompting that Alabama was getting "pummeled" and laughed about it. Reminder that Alabama is where her arch nemesis Crimson and her worst-ever ex/Crimson's fiance Megalo currently live.
hurricane.png

Someone who actually lives in Florida told her she was wrong.
hurricane 2.png

So of course, Trish blocked them and said as she's a Floridian she actually knows what's happening. Another reminder that this bitch has been stuck living in Wyoming since around 2022 when she fucked up her best shot at a Florida life and got evicted by Retro.
hurricane 3.png

So... how was Alabama getting pummeled if by your own admission the storm was "only over Florida"? Here's a map, by the way.
southeast_map.gif

Now that the storm made landfall she's been real quiet about it, like the last time a major storm crashed through Florida and she talked up how immune to hurricane damage Florida is.

This article has a lot of great graphics to show the storm's unfolding.
article.png

path.png

The entirety of Florida is being affected and only the tiniest corner of Alabama has been touched.

And Florida does not look as resilient as she's making it out to be. This is also, as far as I can tell, the first time a hurricane has made landfall in this particular gulf area in about a hundred years, so if anything this part is less prepared than the rest of the state would be. At the time of me typing this, the storm has killed at least 40+ people and not a small amount of them were in Florida.

She also did more wholesome grandma posts and used it as a chance to bitch about the rest of her family and how wholesome and angelic her grandmother is, and how she totally supports her hairlizard novel escapades and it's different from how grandmothers generally are all over their grandchildren's' hobbies and "accomplishments".

Easy for her to talk how floridians find hurricanes funny when she’s not there.

Ribbi brought up again.

I’m willing to bet that she goes back to wanting to make it into a comic when she realizes nobody is interested to read her writing. Original writing, especially on the internet is notoriously hard to market to people.
IMG_8558.jpeg
Earned by dishing +200$, that is. What use is her Patreon then to any fan?
And I’m not sure what she thinks will happen when she self-publishes her books? That people somehow are magically unable to rip it off?

"The novels have been a thing for 10 years" lol does she mean these attempts at writing posted to FurAffinity? If so, I'm surprised she's not pushing it to 15 years instead of 10, as they were originally posted in 2010.

Prologue

Stories, usually start off with a beautiful intro, or a dramatic scene, something to grab your attention. This is no such story. There will be no beautiful sunrises, or romantic fairytales, there is no such mysterious murders, or fantastic beasts that done riders into the heavens. This is a story, this... Is my story. It is a story of a place forgotten by time and the Gods themselves. It is not a bedtime story, or something that people will sing songs of in the years of yonder.

My name is Kisu Nhelezeicht. A mouthful, I'm sure. I am no special princess or queen of any foreign land, I am but a product of the hatred of thousands of men.

Emain, or so they now call it, is a planet in the black inky sky, a planet that was once, as I think I remember it, a beautiful place...with vast oceans, and valleys. The rain was soft on your skin as kisses from the heavens, and the air was clean, fresh, and there was always a breeze that would tousle your hair.

I look outside the broken windows today, and what I see... It is no paradise. I'm not even entirely sure, if such a paradise ever existed.

War.
It plagued my people, and the fight for more land created more greed. Neighboring countries began to fight, who was more noble, more deemed worthy of said land and commodities.

Deadly poisons were created, from the entrails of the planet itself, and these 'bombs' were used against her. Against us. Against me. My own family, whom had no side in the war, fell between borders. And the nuclear fallout fell upon our homes and the homes of hundreds of thousands of our people.

The skies churned with fire, greens and violets blasting through the air like the depths of hell had rose to meet us in this war. I stood and watched, as the smoke billowed thousands of miles in the air, a massive cloud from explosions in the main cities. The dust that fell burned my scales and melted into my flesh. The air stank of rotting flesh and fur. Screams could not be heard over the thunderous booms from the firebombs. But I knew... I knew they were there. Burning.

For months this hell rained upon us. And soon the screams stopped, and the bombs ended. Soon all that one could hear, was the infinite crackle of ash and smoldering rocks falling from the sky. How long we hid away, I am not certain any longer. But when my mother and father fell to the toxins from the radioactive fallout, I was left alone, standing in a street that was barren. Around me, I saw houses on fire, dirt blowing in the wind, whipping me in the face like metal. The ground was cracked beneath my feet, there were things strewn about. Animals lay dying everywhere. Our pets, our friends, all sick with the toxins in the air.

My eyes burned, and my vision blurred. I thought I too would soon die from this. I hoped, prayed it would be swift. That my end would contain only happiness, and that I would soon see my friends and lost family members.

For me... There would be no such happy ending.

Another 6 months passed, and I was but a child still. My day of birth came and went, and I stumbled upon a dirty, fire-damaged doll that had been relatively unscathed. It was my gift to myself, my gift for not dying. I remained in La'hara, the city I was born in, for as long as I could. It was a small port city, on the outskirts of our country. We sat on the border of a far more peaceful country, Desai.

Desai, because they had not volunteered soldiers...For the war...They were annihilated. I imagine, no life was spared. I tried not to think about it, I really did. I tried to find the light, in all the dark.

There were a few of us in La'hara, survivors from the attacks. We were of all ages, all colors, all species. I never spoke to these people, I only followed. We took food from storages around the city, and attempted to catch fish from the ocean, but the water was black and brown, and no longer pure and salty. The waves sloshed mud and filth onto the rocks when the tide came in, and the water itself was more like sludge, than water anymore.

Any fish we found, were diseased and inedible.

And then one day, I was walking along the shore, and I saw a beautiful, glimmering object on the sand. I couldn't help but to wonder what had survived the war, and how something so beautiful could still exist in this world.

It was large, bigger than a Dragon's egg by far, it was even bigger than my Father. This...Giant, thing, sat, half buried in mud and sand, and filth, on the coast, and I couldn't help but to go to it.

Almost as if it had sentience, and it felt so…peaceful. The big, glimmering object, it was smooth, slightly porous, but not to the core, and it was almost as if it had interlocking scales. I didn't know where it came from, but it seemed to respond to my touch. I pried at one of the large scales, my tiny hands ripping them up and away, revealing a bright, glowing core.

I squinted, stepping back. The glow grew brighter, and more of the scales lifted. It seemed to call my name, to reassure me, to coax me to come back...That it needed me. That it would die without me.

So what else could I do? I returned to it, one eye closed, I reached in, my arm disappearing into the light, and as I did, I heard a scream, I was jerked back, thrown on my back feet away. I was stunned, my head fuzzy. When I opened my eyes, the hell I saw made my stomach lurch.

Nothing could compare, to this. The war, the fighting. It was irrelevant. The green in the sky, the lack of sunlight, completely and totally unimportant. I watched as strands of reddish-brown, tar-like 'things' lashed out, grabbing the large dragon I was with by the throat. I screamed and kicked at the sand as I pushed back, unable to stand, tripping over my own feet, my eyes fixated on the atrocity. The dragon, his name was Almair. He was no small dragon. He was feral, not like myself, and his wingspan alone, could blot out the sun from my eyes. He was an ex-imperial soldier, and his powers were over the skies themselves.

I watched as the black ooze snared him, slowly binding his legs and arms, and he barked at me, "RUN, KISU, RUN AWAY, FIND HELP!" I couldn't move, I trembled against the ledge of rocks I was against, my legs pulled up to my chest. Almair released his flames, burning tendrils of the black ooze, but it simply retaliated, when his flames subsided it poured into his mouth before he could shut his maw, and I watched his throat engorge as it forced itself down his esophagus, into his body, which was now frozen, his limbs splayed this way and that. He was fighting still, I saw it in his eyes, but the blackness was now invading him from all over, pouring into him like a volcano in reverse. He threw up the blackness, and it leaked from his eyes and nostrils.

I managed to climb to my feet, and slowly took a step back, feet grasping the rocks as I maneuvered backwards, the blackness completely covering Almair's enormous body.

He was screaming, the roar deafened my ears, I don't know when I started crying, but tears streamed down my face, plipping onto the ground beneath me.

All at once, the blackness subsided, and I gasped, putting my hands over my maw. "A-Al..almair..?" stammered words from my tiny voice box.

The great dragon slowly lifted its head, and turned to me, its eyes fixated on mine. In a second I knew...this was no longer the Dragon I knew. How this...thing, had defeated an imperial guard...how it had stolen his body...I didn't comprehend.

I pulled my arms in close to my body, stepping back again. The dragon took a step forward, hunkering down. He was going to attack. I had no where to run, there was nothing but open ground before me. Nowhere to hide.

It seemed to pause, the creature was fighting with the Dragon it had taken ahold of. Almair almost looked like he was winning an internal conflict, but then more of the black goop came in a rush out of his maw, flooding the sand as he purge, his massive sides heaving. A hole had begin to form in his chest, where tendrils of the smoky blackness seeped out and fluttered about in the air. It was growing larger each passing second, and Almair was bellowing in an agonizing roar of pain.

I turned around, breaking the stare, and ran.
“Kisu, why are we going in here? This place is deserted, look around.”

“Because, night is coming. Do you know what that means, Echo?”

“..No..”

“’In a world of shadows, only those with light can truly exist without fearing the dark.’ Do you know what that means? It means, the bad shit comes out at night Echo, the things that want to eat your flesh and bone, and they don’t care whether you’re still alive when they get their grimy claws on you.”

The long eared creature withdrew. “Oh, I see…” Her voice was soft, like a baby fawn almost, hardly even a voice at all.

The suns dipped below the horizon, a green and gray cast over the sky, darkening as the suns withdrew. The atmosphere of Emain was so toxic, the sunlight’s rays could not even break through. What little daylight there was, was precious to the people still living and somehow surviving, in that wretched place.

Creatures that appeared to be birds, took cover in crumbling buildings. Everywhere Echo and Kisu stepped, the ground groaned and creaked with protest. They were trodden upon old streets and houses.

“People...once lived here, Echo.” she whispered, lifting her eyes to the white furred creature that was accompanying her.

“When? These ruins look thousands of years old..” she said in response, her eyes glued to the ground, making sure her delicate paws didn’t get sliced open.

Kisu stopped, causing Echo to bump into her backside.
“Hey, what’s the-”

“People lived here twenty years ago.”

“Yes, twenty years ag- W-wait, WHAT?” Echo flattened a pair of broad, long ears. “D-do you mean to tell me that this… This rubble was someone’s...someone’s LIVING ROOM, twenty years ago!? T-That’s impossible!” she shook her head, hands stretched out, grasping at Kisu’s arm.

“Echovaria.” Kisu stated, and the other woman’s ears wilted further. “I saw it with my own two eyes, do NOT tell me otherwise.” she said, snagging her arm free from those tiny fingers, and walking away. She didn’t even glance over her shoulder before she headed into one of the few buildings with a roof, and threw her bag down.

“B-But that’s…that’s impossible..” Echo stammered, following behind shortly after. She had already begun to hear the chittering, whispering sounds of the monsters in the night, and Kisu was the only other person she’d ever met.

“K-Kisu. D-Do you mean to tell me, t-that-”

“Yes,” she turned her head, a long, narrow maw opening slightly, small, canine-like teeth glinting in the darkness. “I am a survivor of that…Holocaust. No one else I knew, is alive. And…That thing, that tried to kill you, that…black ooze? Chaos, as you call it. I was the first person to see it, and see the destruction it can create. And the first, to fear it.”

Her ears wilted slightly, pointing directly back towards her shoulder blades, the brown highlighted by glowing blue splotches along the backsides. Kisu didn’t even look at herself anymore. The after effects of being exposed to radiation and biochemical’s, had caused drastic changes in her DNA, not that they were necessarily bad, she just, took no notice of them anymore.

Echo saw them, Echo noticed. She saw that Kisu’s fur was a rich chocolate brown, with glinting hazelnut scales underneath, she saw that the had natural cream markings dappling her body, a proud Dragoness’s body. She knew the half green and blue hair, and the glow from her eyes and fingertips, and even her tail, was unnatural. Echo could smell the difference in her, but she denied these things. She figured Kisu was another hybrid, like herself. Perhaps like Echo, Kisu was a Dragon with some sort of fox, or badger. But no. Deep down, Echo knew, that her friend was an ordinary dragon, that had been afflicted with these changes. Changes that had saved both of their lives.

“Look, can you make with that magic of yours and create a nice bright light in here? Or do you WANT us to be devoured?” Kisu suddenly said, breaking Echo’s though process.

“It’s not magic, it’s alchemy.” she stated, as if there was really such a difference. Kisu couldn’t make flames, and this creature could. If a dragon cannot make fire, and a lowly hybrid can, there is no other reasonable explanation aside from magic.

As if she read her comrades mind, Echo stated again, "It's not magic."

Kisu shrugged, walking to the doorway, picking up the fallen door, and leaning it against the door in such a way that it seemed closed. The chittering outside was so loud now, her ears flicked in discomfort. "Echo..you'd might want to hurry that up." she said, a cold chill raising the short fur on her back.

The sound was like thousands of insects, not chirping, but almost like the beating of wings. It vibrated the air, disrupting the delicate balence in Kisu's ears. She walked back into the room where Echo was, watching the small, dirty, white creature draw runes across the floor with white chalk, reaching down, and light erupting from the runes. Echo would grasp the raw light, and scuplt it in her hands, with her mind, how she thought a lantern might look, and her fingers raced over the object as form took shape, edges became clear, and sharp, and a staff sprouted from the lantern. She jammed it into the ground, and the runic building was illuminated in a soft azure that pulsated, almost brighter than the natural light that barely broke in through the clouds. It was more than enough. It beamed out the broken windows, and the chattering seemed to draw away. Kisu slumped to the floor. "Damn, Musas. Their infernal noise.." she said, letting out a few panting breaths before gathering herself.

"Make me another of these, and I will go out, and find food."

"Yessir." Echo replied, tracing another circle and filling in the runes.
Kisu mumbled something about magic, and walked to a broken window, a few shards of glass remaining in the frame.

"Twenty years...ago."she drifted off in thought, ears occasionally twitching and flickering at this or that sound.
The ability to manipulate time and space, was a very handy skill indeed. Kisu clutched her new staff, ribbons of black hanging off of the thick wooden handle, a single glass tomb on the end of the staff. It was shaped like an old church building, two parallel angles, and a triangle atop. Inside, an unnatural glow was emitted. It was that power that Echo wielded, in its raw form. When trapped inside a cage such as this, it would glow for hours, blindingly bright.

Essentially, it kept everything away from them. Kisu had left Echo in the dying building, and the young hybrid had created three more staffs in the same blue as the original. The building was several meters behind her now, but when she turned around, her glowing green eyes immediately would pick up on the radiating blue light pouring from the building.

Out here, however, the ground was much less safe. Even the creatures of the night, who feared the light, would sometimes challenge a small light source. Kisu had seen them, a type of tiger of sorts.

Here, they were called the Clover Drake. Drakes, as they were no form of dragon at all, and the way they moved was entirely feline. However, they were the size of a minivan, and had two rows of shark-like teeth. Before Chaos, these mutated animals, had been genetically designed to fight in the war. Their saw-like teeth had shredded through flesh and bone alike. Their skin was oily, and secreted a thick mucus, which kept their lungs, a primitive pair, lubricated. Their skin was half an inch thick, in some places more. Eyes of the Clover Drakes were keen, forward set, with two-hundred and seventy degrees of vision without turning their heads.

Not to mention, they could run faster than fifty miles an hour, and turn directions on a dime. They were very strong, and very fast. When Chaos came, Kisu got to meet one of these animals. It no longer had to serve any country. It only knew to kill. And the recently infected monster, was more horrid than most things on this diseased and forgotten wasteland.

Clovers', ran freely in packs now, throughout the worst of Emain. The wastes. And usually did not go outside their boundaries, for there are always larger things that wish to eat you.

Kisu's ears flicked, as she recalled the event. She kneeled to the ground, her staff illuminating misshapen paw prints. A small marsupial creature, the Manx, was in the area. Excellent.

While she followed the paw prints, the ordeal with the Clover Drake filled her head, as things usually did when she was about to endeavor in a gruesome task.

The scent of burnt flesh filled her slitted nostrils that night. That's what the Clovers' smelled like these days, as almost all of them were infected with Chaos, and were slowly rotting from the inside out. They were not strong willed creatures, and thus, Chaos controlled them with ease.

The one she'd run into.

Kisu's eyes lifted from the tracks. She'd found the hideout, a small, raised bit of sand, with multiple rocks pushed around it, forming some sort of den. She drew her blade, turned the staff, and shoved the length of the pole into the hole. A screech came from within, and the frightened, dog sized animal burst out, only to have her blade thrust into the back of its furred neck before it could run.

She stripped the ribbon from the pole, and quickly gutted the creature, cleaning it out quickly, and burying the remains in the sand. The smell of blood would attract the larger things.

She tied the back legs together, and heaved it over her shoulder with help of the ribbons, lacing them under her arm. They had lucked out, tonight they would have meat, and it wasn't tainted with chaos.

Kisu turned about, making her way through the not-quite pitch blackness, stepping over stones as she headed back to her hut for the night. The scent of burning flesh catching in her nostrils.

She stopped, scented the air with her thin snout, flaring her ears. "They are too far tonight, to disturb us." she said, resuming her trek.

The Clover that had nearly killed her, was not something she wished to experience again. She wore one of its enormous fangs on a strap of its own hide, made into thin leather, around her neck. It had been monstrous, she thought, as she walked.

It caught her in the midst of flight. She had been running from Chaos, the mother beast, the same day. And her sentries, those smaller infected creatures, had been looking everywhere for her. The people had come to call the originally infected dragon, the 'Mother of Chaos,' though he was very much so male.

Either way, trapped in a gorge between two massive cliffs, the beast had confronted her. It was a young one, and just barely been taken over by Chaos. The creatures eyes had not yet dissolved from its body, and though its heart had been gored through by Chaos, it was very much so, still alive. The sentience, diseased, black ooze kept it alive. With its will.

It charged her, she ducked. Fighting had been new at that time. She was young herself, she had nothing but a dagger. The beast had sliced ribbons out of her ribcage. Muscle was shredded like it was merely butter. She fell instantaneously. The Clover slowly rounded, its broad, shark-like skull facing her. In mere seconds, it ran, leapt, its cavernous maw, full of razor sharp teeth, the only thing in her vision. Kisu did all she could do, she thrust her arms into that massive mouth. Her dagger in hand, slicing straight through the cartilage, into the brain, and she pulled towards her, cutting the head in half to the nose. The flaps of boneless head trembled , the beast thudded to the ground. She leapt upon it in an instant, and drove the dagger into its heaving side multiple times. The Chaos inside the beast made it release a blood curdling howl, and even after Kisu had hacked all its limbs off, the body still twitched as the Chaos slowly began to die.

Kisu stood there, for over an hour, watching the monster, until it stopped twitching. Only then, did she run for her life. She had been caked in blood, and ran until she fell into a stream. The wounds in her side burned, though they had already begun to pull together, and heal.

She sat in a pool of water, a foot deep, safe from the deeper waters, and the monsters lurking within. She sat and sat, and eventually fell asleep there. Kisu had been lucky that night, as the scent of her blood had not attracted anything else to come after her. She'd been very lucky indeed.

The heavy animal on Kisu's back shifted as one of the ribbons suddenly popped. She groaned, re-tied its legs, and carried it by its feet, the rest of the way. Once she'd returned, she braced the door closed, and tossed it down onto a plank of wood. Her breath was heavy.

"Dinner." she said, her eyes fixing on Echo, ears flattening. The hybrid, white dragon Lupe had recently joined her. And her instincts told her that this small creature would betray her if it meant saving her own life. Kisu could not blame the younger creature, but she was not comfortable with her regardless.

Echovaria hopped to her feet, dashing over. She reached for the animal, and Kisu cracked her over the hand with her staff. "Do not even think about eating this animal raw." she said, glaring at the girl.

"But I haven't eaten in days! It's not fair!" Echo pleaded, grabbing at it again.

Kisu slammed her shoulder into Echo's shoulder, knocking her onto her bottom. She dropped down on top of her on all fours, bearing her mawful of sharp fangs. "You will not eat until I say you eat! You will obey my orders directly, or you WILL die out here! Nothing is 'fair'! I do not want to ever, ever hear you say something like that again! You don't know of fairness, and you never will. Get used to it. This is Emain. This planet is dying, and one day, you will too! You can run from it, you can be stupid about it, or you can fight it."

Echo trembled under the six-foot-seven dragoness, and turned her head away, showing her neck to Kisu, a display of submission. Kisu got to her feet, and left Echo down on the floor, while she took pieces of wood, tossing them onto Echo's fire, and stringing the marsupial from a beam in the ceiling. The fire leapt onto it immediately, singing the fur off, and cooking off the flesh. When the fur and flesh had melted away, the fire kissed at the meat from below, slowly heating it, and boiling the bacteria, and if any, Chaos cells that were in the meat.

"I will not become a mad animal like the others." she whispered, staring into the fire, reaching down and using sand and dust, to wash the crud from her hands. Water was rare in Emain. Even rarer was drinkable water. The rains were so toxic, they burned not only Kisu's fur, but the hard scales hidden beneath. For these reasons, most creatures hid during the rains. And though it rarely rained now, when it did, it poured.

Within an hour, Kisu had rotated it, now cooking the opposite side. It was a long process, but it was necessary. She too was starving. Her body was built for battle and speed, rather than the magic that Echo made. She needed the proteins to keep her muscle strength, to keep them both alive. Though tempted to just open her maw and clamp down on the hanging, half cooked creature, she waited. Her tail thumped against the ground with hunger.

"Kisu, how much longer.." Echo asked, after it had been two-hours or so, or dead silence. Kisu reached over, snapping the strings that held it up, and Echo's eyes shimmered. She wagged her tail. "Not yet," Kisu added, placing the golden brown body now, on top of the fire, settling it into the coals. "Another hour, to be safe."

Echo groaned, slumped back onto the floor, and played with her hands, creating electrical sparks of purples and greens that leapt like tiny gazelles between her fingers. Kisu ignored the lightshow, and settled in her space by the fire, stretching her body out, yawning. Her clothes were tattered and destroyed. She'd have to find more soon. They were only days away, from what their map pointed out as a major trade city. She'd obtained said map, in a fight against a very aggressive cetacean sort of man. He looked like a whale had mated with a ton of steel piping. Very strong, thick muscles and an even more powerful tail than she had.

Grace and agility had won her the map, and he circled in red ink, the remaining places where people still lived. The largest one, was the city of Ceann. Renamed after the war, for the shade of unnatural blue that she sky always was. The city was called the 'glowing city,' and many creatures never left there. It was a safe house for all species, feral or not. People from all over Emain gathered in Ceann, and this was where they would be heading. Kisu had to find a place for Echo to stay. She intended on dumping the young woman off once they arrived there.

It was easy for the dragoness to keep herself alive, but a younger and inexperienced child? That was very difficult, and it had become tense and dangerous for Kisu to even hunt now.

"It's finished." Kisu said, pulling the blackened Manx from the fire, and laying it out on a semi-clean plank, that she'd dusted off previously. Echo used her alchemy to create plates, which Kisu considered a waste.

Regardless, she sliced their meal up, and handed Echo large, moist chunks of the animal which had previously resembled a kangaroo. Echo inhaled her food, hardly chewing. And Kisu ate hers slowly, with a formal sort of finesse that she'd always had around food. It didn't matter how hungry she was. She knew not to eat at the pace that Echo was. 'I know she's going t- Ghaacck!

Yup, there it was. Echo choked on a piece of bone, coughing it up and spitting it onto the floor. Kisu merely shook her head at her manners, and tore tiny morsels off of her chunk of meat, with her front teeth. How un-dragon of her. Though, unlike her hybrid friend, she got more out of the food than Echo. Kisu's jaws were far stronger, and the brittle bones were packed full of calcium. The marrow was pure fat and proteins. These bones Kisu would save, and eat when food was scarce, keeping herself going. Echo had the stomach of a Lupe, and thus, the splintery bones of animals would pierce through and gore her if she ate them. She had to pick around the bones, where Kisu could crunch them with ease, or swallow them whole.

"Kisu?"

"Yes, what is it."

After their meal, Kisu was nodding off, her back sealed against the dusty wall of the house they were in. She was sprawled out, and her green and blue hair hung in her eyes. Her lids were lowered, and she didn't bother to open them.

"Kisu, can you tell me more about your life, before this?" Echo asked, caution rising in her voice.

Kisu merely grumbled, turning her maw into her arm. "Go to sleep. We'll talk at sunrise." And while drifting into a light sleep, she head Echo hunker down by the glowing remains of the fire, and when Echo's breathing slowed, and Kisu knew she was asleep, she too gave in to the darkness.

The light of Echo's staffs billowed around them, in a warm blue hue, and under that soft blue light, the two slept. Kisu, with one hand on her blade, as if even in sleep, she could never relax.

Plus the stories that have been leaked from Patreon over the past few years... I think we can all get a very good idea of what her current novel is going to sound like. Her writing quality hasn't changed. I'd post the whole text for all the works under spoilers but that's too much for one post. I may follow up with another just to have them here versus having to click through to the Kemono site.

Raine/Aidoneus romance story. Reminder that this particular story is about her at-the-time hairlizard sona and the hairlizard stand-in she made for Retro after she broke up with Megalo and Retro bought a whole entire house in Florida and moved her in with him. I'm willing to believe the babying, bed-sharing, and subsequent fucking is very based on true events until she decided Retro was actually raping her the whole time.

Aeryn's origin story and Aeryn's romance pining / new boyfriend stories are post-Retro (and post SoftDilo arc) when she had given up on love and was inventing fictional hairlizards to pine after, and trying to capitalize on the concept of her new titless body being undesirable to most real men because it's "not a REAL woman" body.

Anyways, she's apparently dedicating her hairlizard slop to her grandma.

Jesus Christ, is Trish really nearly 37 already...? I know she's never acted her age, but good lord, she's nearly 40 and still acts like a petulant 20-year-old.

Here's part one of the more modern of Trish's writing, as linked to in the above post, so you don't have to navigate away.

It had been some cycles since Raine had met Aidoneus; Hades having introduced them, and then becoming near-instant friends despite the female drakes standoffish nature.

So, when Aidoneus started to see her in a different light, she didn't notice. For many orbital cycles, Raine was near-inseparable from Aidoneus. They took missions together, hung out in their off time, ate together, commed each other, and were as close of friends as two drakes could be.

Raine had been through a lot, and had grown close to Aidoneus in a way she was with very few others, Asura being the only notable reference, and even she was a friend Raine had met after she'd known Aidoneus for some cycles before.

Raine felt a sense of comfort and security from him that she didn't with anyone else she knew, and so she'd dial his datapad whenever something went wrong. Naturally, he never failed to answer, and she would open up to him about whatever troubled or plagued her, and as always he'd listen quietly, console her, and do his best to offer advice.
On the day she lost her voice, she'd called him in a panic, her datapad was skewed and the camera seemed damaged because he'd been unable to make out her face well, he only knew she was terribly upset and something awful had happened. Aidoneus plotted a course to her location, the trip would take him a few weeks, even with his small ships hyperdrive, and he spent the entire time pacing the cabin of his vessel. She'd gone radio silent on him, so he didn't know if he'd arrive to a corpse or not. Pacing was all he could do to keep from driving himself insane.

An agonizing three weeks later, he'd landed on the world she was on. A small, dusty rock with no large native life. How had she gotten here? When Aidoneus found Raine, she was in a critical state. Her body muscle had atrophied and her fur was dirty and covered in her own blood. She had three massive gashes to her throat that had partially healed, but become infected, and several other old bruises and patches of fur missing. It seemed that whatever she'd gotten into a fight with had left her for dead.
Aidoneus' eyes stared down at the mess before him and as he knelt to push the hair from her eyes, he softly called her name. When she didn't even move to respond, he scooped her into his arms.

The female drake, large for her gender, slipped an arm around his shoulders instinctively, but her grip was weak and she was more resting against him than holding on. He carried her battered body to his small ship and sent signal to her own vessel to follow in tow behind his. In all likelihood, Ezrael's ship would be months away by the time he'd caught up to her, so he would have to handle the medical treatment without the use of the large automated machined from her vessel.

Over the next few weeks Aidoneus had taken care of her. Bathing and patching her wounds, combing the burrs from her mane, giving her vital fluids and small meals with a variety of proteins added. She'd get sick and retch and he'd console her and clean her up, wait several hours, then try to feed her or give her fluids again.

He never left her side, even when her voice cracked when she tried to speak, and they learned her vocal cords were badly damaged, he knew his limited medical skills would be of no help to her. He wanted to know what had happened to her, but she'd been unwilling to undergo surgery on a non-drake vessel or planet to fix her voice, and didn't seem willing to budge on discussing it either, so with the help of a few comms from Asura, Raine learned to sign.

As she healed, it became evident how damaged her personality, along with her body, had been during the ordeal, and silently Aidoneus kicked himself for not doing something sooner. Meanwhile, some part of her knew some part of him had changed, and become softer than before.

Or rather, he'd stopped politely holding back. Many times he'd shown the formal types of affection from their world; Nuzzling and rubbing his cheek against hers, keeping his teeth away from the sensitive hollows, but not being shy about wanting to be in physical contact with her.

What happened was something that happened less-than-commonly among their species, he'd formed a subconscious bond with Raine, a one-sided one, and she noticed it, though she brought no attention to it. Over a span of weeks, he'd grow more assertive in his nudging for affection, going as far as to preen her in such a way as paired drakes would, sharing foods from his maw, or drinks, and he'd begun to fall asleep not just at her side, but in the quarters for her he'd provided. He went as far as coiling around her while she slept, like he was guarding her. And Raine grew to enjoy the physical contact.

It wasn't long before the attention she'd become accustomed to became something she'd previously denied herself, a genuine interest. There had been an emotional attachment between the two drakes for numerous cycles, as they'd been supportive of each other for a long time, and Raine had made him her personal project, stating she'd help him find a mate and even give him lessons. All as her way of thanking him for all of his continued help and support. She couldn't have known at the time, of his interest in her, but years later, after her body had been damaged to the point of nearly killing her, she would finally understand.

The first time he pushed the boundaries to their max with her, he'd snaked his way into her bed, only this time, entirely devoid of clothing, allowing Raine to press against his bare fur and significantly warmer body. He'd turned his larger head to press into her neck and breathe against her fur, sighing softly at the scent and she too sighed, from the feeling of his breath near her hollows.

It was almost like a dance, he kissed at her neck, and she made small grumbles in her throat. He pressed on, kissing up along her jaw until he reached her hollows, his snout blowing warm air against the furless gap of sensitive flesh under her jawline.

The small shiver she gave as response to being touched in such a...loving way gave him the ammunition he needed to continue, and soon enough he'd pulled her closer against him, so the slightly smaller female could feel all of him, and the growing warmth between his legs.

That sensation, the feeling of a males heat pressing and nudging against her made Raine let out a growly moan, her broken voice not hiding the pleasure she felt.

He didn't say much, there was too much to say and too many feelings in the way of the words, so he kissed and embraced and held her tightly, trying to squeeze his affection into her through their bodies touching. He'd been patient for so long, waited and needed for so long, and she was there now, underneath him and pulling him closer, wanting him. His tail-tip practically wagged with emotion as he pinned her to her bed and guided himself inside her, gritting his teeth as she tensed and made broken noises under him, her claws finding his back and digging in, pulling him closer.

For the next several hours they'd coupled again and again, Raine ending up exhausted by the end of their sessions. It had been so simple and natural, the way it happened, neither of them had questioned it at all. Asura, when she read the news in the data stream feed Raine sent her, thought it was precious, and supported it, telling Raine it was wonderful for her.

Yet, there was a silence that clung between the two women. Things neither wanted to say, but Asura would, regardless. The event that had left Raine so traumatized, and physically broken was involving another drake. Naturally, Raine kept as much of the event as she could, to herself. Her friend Asura however, had no problem explaining what had happened.

She owed Raine no such promise of silence, so when Raine ultimately found out, she couldn't be upset. Despite being partially aberrant, she was mostly rehabilitated, and her and the other aberrant drakes had formed a micro-unit within the larger drake unit on Ezrael's ship. The captain, an augmented drake, was less-sane than any of the aberrations combined.
Deep underground in a former Amanathine mine was the facility Aeryn had been born into.

Wall to wall, two foot thick reinforced hybrid steel insulated the tunnels and hallways from the plague that had taken their lands.

It was clear that the facility had been hastily cobbled together.

Massive beams and struts of metal towered above every few yards and sloppy, crude, but thick welds were joining the metal plates and brackets. There were no air vents or ducts, as those would pose a threat, points of entry for the virus should it find them; so the air was thin and dank. Air circulators were physical stand-alone objects that sucked in toxic air and pushed out clean, breathable air. There were no windows, only walls.

Not even holo technology existed here. There was no pleasure. No coating on the floor, only crude, ridged metal plate beneath their feet.

There were no comforts, no beds, no blankets. Techs and officers and political leaders all slept on the floor in designated rooms together for warmth and protection. No paint graced the facilities walls, so the various metals all stood out from each other in stark contrast. Every two hundred yards was a bulkhead. One that compartamentalized each section of hall into it’s own pod.

Should one section be infected by chaos, the grid would lockdown all sections and everyone inside would be cleansed. That is, they would be instantly incinerated along with the technology. For this reason, each chunk of tunnel would house its own growth chambers, that way even if infection spread underground, not all the embryos would be lost.

Dead center in the former mine was a massive airway where dozens of rockets lay dormant, buried under thousands of feet of rock, waiting to carry tens of thousands of civilians to space.

Hundreds of scientists and engineers congregated to build maturation and incubation chambers for their planetary project. It was never silent or still here, because these survivors were working to the bone to save a fraction of their history, their species.

One such scientist was in charge of the careful process of injecting Chaos virus cells with liquid amanathine. She wore a full body suit and respirator as she worked, requiring the aid of tiny limbed robots to guide hundreds of needles into puncturing the membranes of hundreds of individual cells. Her job was the single most important in the facility, she had developed the augmented gene therapy and therefore created chaos resistant embryos. With dna encryption, other scientists could then sequence the artificially fertilized eggs with the subconscious knowledge of their people. Passing on memories and experiences.

But this wasn’t her duty, her duty was to effectively kill an unstoppable virus. The only treatment they could find could only work on developing embryos, so no living drake would ever be immune to the virus, only their children would be. It was bleak, but it was all they had. Without this small victory, nothing would be left of their world. Nothing at all.

"Injecting round one thousand forty-seven now," she said into a recorder as the device with rows of syringes swung on an arm to the other side of the room, injecting the already splitting cells she'd just inoculated, into pre-fertilized drake eggs. Within moments of injection each egg developed a spider web of black veins on its shell, signifying it was infected with chaos. Inside of the growing fetus however, the virus latched on to the spinal column of the fetal drakes and would begin it’s replication process there.

The entire process had to be done in mere seconds, as the chaos virus had to be frozen in it’s cellular form, far beneath freezing, in order to stop its replication. It was after each cell was confirmed to have not split that they were cleared to be injected with the amanathine.

In the time it took to inject the radioactive crystal isotope to the virus, the virus had defrosted and begun to replicate itself. By the time the arm swung across the room to inject the eggs there was already a teaspoon of the virus in the syringes. If the machines were too slow or miscalculated, the virus would outgrow the syringe and break it. And while the amanathine effectively neutered the sentience and kill capacity of the virus, it did not stop it’s replication. No one wanted to deal with incinerating billions of virus cells as they climbed over equipment and spilled onto the floor, so the entire process was done with expert precision that only robotics could provide.

Unknown to the virus however, it was no longer transmitting a deadly sentient pathogen, it was transmitting a highly radioactive crystalline matrix that would infuse the embryos with strength and resilience to the mother virus.

"Injection complete, transferring rack one thousand forty-seven to maturation chambers."

Each cylinder containing each soft shelled egg in a viscous protein solution was then transferred to a larger row of cylinders, ones so large they would house an adult drake. As the eggs were injected into the pre-filled chambers, heat lamps and radiation lamps activated, further speeding up the growth process of both the egg and the crystalized amanathine within the chaos cells.

Within minutes the semi-transparent egg shells with their black veins would swell in size, as if absorbing nutrients from the environment around them, and a pup within would begin to squirm. Simultaneously, the black spurs of the chaos virus would sprout from whatever point in the spinal column the virus had attached. It wasn’t uncommon for pups to die at this point, as several from each round would have spurs shoot out from the front of their bodies, through their throats or chests, instead of their backs. These pups were exterminated immediately and would be replaced in the next round with new incubations.

As the fetal drakes grew they burst through their transparent eggs, though they'd remain partially coiled in a fetal shape until they were finally mature.

These particular drakes were a mixed lot, northern and tropic embryos. The lead scientist scribbled on her pad and walked down the row, checking vitals on each specimen. When she came to Aeryn's she noted the larger size and put a note that this would pup was a candidate for intellect injections.

Over the next theee months the pups had become full blown adults, nearly ready to exit their growth chambers. Several more had died in a blackout that happened about two weeks after incubation began and due to unstable temperatures, many of these drakes would be born as androgyns if they hadn't been flagged and terminated.

When it was finally time to release them, a male tech stood outside of Aeryn's chamber and a snarl of disgust marred his face. This drake was faulty, she had slipped through the androgyn scans earlier in incubation but there she was, fully formed, floating suspended in a pale gold slime that was both breathing fluid and thousands of antibiotics and inoculations and foods all at once. An anomaly. A freak. He stared at the nude form, the toned masculine muscles, but the inherently female genitals. He was about to hit a large red valve on her cylinder to terminate her prior to release, when her eyes opened.

"S-ser!" Called the young male tech and an older female drake followed by two younger male techs ran over.
"What is it?!" Practically yelled the old female. She appeared tired, sagging fur beneath her eyes and a formerly bronze coat peppered in grey signaled she had been alive since long before the war and calamity, she was one of the only seniors left alive, and anyone could tell she'd seen her fair share of horror.

"I-it’s awake ser. I was about to press the extermination valve and it-" he paused, nervous anxiety rushing through him, "it-the anomaly, look!" He pointed dramatically at her face where her eyes were indeed open.

The old female hobbled over to lean across the tank, shining a flashlight in Aeryn's eyes. Her pupils constricted to narrow slits and the nictitating membrane all drakes had slid over her eyes in response. "A very unusual anomaly this one is. Notice it’s eye color, how did that occur do you think?" She asked the techs, none of the young men had any clue.

"Let's keep this one. After all, missur (name) spent quite a large sum of money inoculating it with additional add-ons. It even appears there have been ocular modifications. I suspect missur (name) was trying to blend our nanotechnology with the hybridized chaos virus. It would be a shame to incinerate such an interesting specimen. Let's get it out of there and see just how much those nano-bugs augmented it."

"Yes messer, but, what should we call it? It’s not male, though it appears to be."

"For now, address it as male. And the knowledge of its true nature will not be recorded in the record logs, understand? What we are doing is technically forbidden, we cannot leave a paper trail. However," she rest a paw on the warm glass of the tank, and Aeryn placed her own on the other side, a much, much larger paw. "We no longer have the resources to be as choosy as we want to be. Begin the extraction process, I want this specimen on it’s feet before the day is out, understand?" She pulled her paw from the glass but kept eye contact with the blue drake.

"Yes messer" said the techs. The old woman cracked her neck and began to walk away, muttering to herself as two of the three techs paired off to begin extracting Aeryn. The tank vacuum started with a churn and began sucking the fluid from the tank at a rapid pace, gurgling and bubbling as it drained.

Golden slime clung to the now visibly blue fur covering Aeryn and she began coughing. For the first time since being created, her lungs were seeking air, rather than nitrogenated and oxygenated fluid.

As the tank lid depressurized Aeryn shot up into an upright sitting position then violently puked fluid up, still coughing.

"It takes a few days for it to all drain out of your body. Don't worry, you won't get any infections and the discomfort will fade. I know it’s very itchy right now, but try to not claw at your throat during this time." He reached a hand out for Aeryn to take. "Do you understand me?"

She coughed again, a mixture of breathing fluid and saliva dripping from her maw and down her chest. When she attempted to reply she found her vocal chords unable to function.

"You've never used your eyes or voice, let alone your legs. This will take some adjustment. Nod your head if you understand. We need to know if the knowledge input was successful."

Aeryn nodded. She took his hand and nearly pulled him over as she climbed out of the maturation chamber, looking back down at it, the tube that had been her home for nearly three months. Then down at the male speaking to her. Her brain already deemed him weak, subservient and unworthy as prey or otherwise. She already disliked this male.

"Follow me please," the tech said, extending a paw palm up in front of him to gesture in the direction they'd be going. Aeryn stumbled at first, but like a baby deer, soon found her footing and walked side by side with the two techs, the other remaining silent.

They walked into a bright white room with a large cushioned table and many devices Aeryn recognized as computers and imaging scanners. She was told to sit atop the table and multiple anodes were attached to her still wet fur.

"This may sting slightly, but we have to get you physically ready for training and this is the only way" he turned a dial on one of the machines and an electrical current rushed through Aeryn's body making her muscles twitch and pulse in a painful fashion. She grunted her dislike, but endured the process.

"You will return here each day, during high sun and before rest hour to participate in this. Like everything else, you'll acclimate to the pain quickly. We have to make you strong. You will receive daily inoculations before first meal, these will prevent any infections from residual fluid in your lungs from developing. After one week you will begin physical training. By this time you will move from daily inoculations to once a week until you are given a duty. Do you understand?"

Aeryn nodded.

"Missur (name) has taken a liking to you during your embryonic state, therefore you were granted specialty enhancements that will aid you in this life. You are not to be a frontline soldier."

Aeryn looked perplexed, her dna told her that all drakes were soldiers, that she too was a soldier. But now she was being told otherwise. She already knew she was different, her nose had begun to quickly adapt to real air and she smelled the difference in the sex of the other drakes. She also recognized that she should have been terminated, yet she wasn’t. Why?

"Your vocal development is essential so we will begin practicing that tonight. We need to know what level of intellect you have, it’s critical to your future role. Understand that you are not a normal soldier, you are one of a handful of pet projects. We need to know if this project is viable."

Aeryn stared blankly. Her brain was already processing everything he said and she already comprehended that he was insulting her intelligence. The speed at which her brain calculated and inferred data was phenomenal and here was a lowly lab technician trying to imply she was a waste of resources. The right side of her upper lip twitched. Annoyance. Her tailtip flicked as well, something passed down in the genetic tree all the way from the first reptiles to walk their lands.

The tech scribbled on his pad, noting the reactions and turned the dial up two more clicks. The muscles in Aeryn's shoulders and biceps were now dancing under the shocks and the pain was only putting her into a heightened agitated state. To control herself, the newly born drake grabbed the sides of the table she was on, digging her claws into the leather covered foam. It was all she could do to suppress a bubbling rage inside of her.

"Ah, this must be the augment" she mused to herself, wanting to test her strength, wanting to test her strength on this man. But cold, wet and covered in electrodes she sat, behaving. Silent.

At a certain point Aeryn had adapted to the shocks and had laid down, napping on the table. During that time, other individuals had come and gone. Some had taken blood samples, others had brought a form of clothing for her. Once the initial shock treatment had ended, she was escorted to another room and bathed. Basic hygiene was implanted in her already, so she knew how to groom herself and rather enjoyed the extremely scalding hot water that cleansed the slime from her fur. Afterward she was dried, then dressed in a simple large white shirt and loose fitting, airy, drawstring pants.

Patience wasn’t a virtue with this drake, and the techs quickly learned this when it was time for food. Everyone was lined up to get their rations and the people escorting Aeryn attempted to explain food to her, leading to Aeryn elbowing one in the face and snapping her teeth. This of course, was also written down.
"Food aggression," one of the techs wrote, noting "this seems to occur only in augmented drakes. Natural drakes incubated in the same fashion lack this tendency. Possibly due to having a higher metabolic rate.."

Aeryn had been allowed to eat in peace but the plant protein was hardly suitable to her. She wanted to hunt and kill fresh meat, but was confined in these walls, not allowed to make a kill.

After a fast meal, she was taken to a room where a nurse palpated her throat, checking for fluid buildup or swelling in her vocal chords. When Aeryn checked out the nurse asked her to repeat the words she said, starting with "Emain."

"Eeeh-" the blue drakes voice cracked and she tried clearing her throat with a few coughs. "Eeeeh-maain", she repeated like a parrot, pleasing the nurse. She was then told to say "tree, fish, gold, space, health, meat, bar," and as she repeated them her voice broke less, but certain words did have a harder time coming out. Like most drakes, Aeryn had trouble with S's and would draw the S sound out too long. This was typical and not noteworthy.

"Alright, it’s time for some basic arithmetic" said the nurse. She handed Aeryn a cube with numerous symbols on each of it’s faces. "Align the faces and the shape will change, the goal is-"
Aeryn had already begun swiping symbols on the cube with her fingers, her eyes focused on the task. Within moments she'd transformed the block into a three dimensional hexagon.

"Interesting," said the nurse, taking it away and resetting it to a cube once more. "A mechanical brain, that's rare for one of us. This is good, it means you’re less likely to be terminated."

That night Aeryn slept with other recent hatchlings on a padded mat in a large pile. Some whispered about their days, the experiments they'd underwent, the training, others were content to finally have physical contact with another warm body and were curled up innocently, simply enjoying the first sensations of platonic pleasure in their short lives. Touch. Aeryn however, wasn’t a part of that. She had already been injected with hormones to mask her gender and help present her scent and voice as male, and out of shame for her defects, she slept alone.

The following weeks she was trained and instructed on combat, though her purpose lay elsewhere. Haven been given an identification number, she was allowed to choose a name and went with Aeryn, it was, like her, androgynous. Though the techs would refer to her by her designated number, Aeryn corrected them each and every time to use her name. It took no time at all for the techs and doctors to realize she had a cold and logical personality but demanded respect.

On several occasions Aeryn outright refused to perform tasks assigned to her, stating it was beneath her intellect. These incidents amused the staff, such a young hatchling and so set in her ways. Usually the training process wiped most free thought and personality from soldier rank drakes but Aeryn had a will power stronger than most and any time she was slighted she would respond with a curled lip and aggression.

The staff also noted that despite her temper (likely linked to being an augment) that Aeryn possessed a sense of humor, and would be seen entertaining other trainees with jokes and insults. She'd rapidly rose to the status of alpha and nearly all the other hatchlings in her pod would respond to her with respect. The few who didn't resulted in several documented cases of physical violence.

Aeryn's temper and personality was a nasty mix for being insulted, and when pushed over the edge she instantly resorted to violence. It made for several trips to the clinic to repair fractured skulls and broken horns on other males who had attempted to combat her.

Unfortunately for the others in her pod, she was of a higher IQ and with the intellect augments she'd been given, Aeryn never lost hand to hand fights. Her mechanical brain and impressive reflexes allowed her to analyze a situation almost robotically, countering swings and jabs with no effort at all.

During training she'd been sectioned off from most of the pod, into different areas of expertise. They found that she was capable as a mechanic and could tear apart motors and repair them with ease. She was also gifted in circuitry and because of it, put into a program that would test her abilities with programming and data processing. Aeryn adapted quickly and was able to integrate herself into their own systems. From this she learned of the devastation of their planet, why they were under thousands of feet of bedrock. She also learned of crystal blue waters, amazing exotic life. Poisonous flora and fauna, millions of species and billions of creatures that had been infected. From the smallest insect to the largest ancestor of her race, everything above was doomed.

It made her angry, violently angry, and the team assigned to her learned that angry augmented drakes tend to spit fire. Rather uncontrollably. Aeryn felt such rage over the destruction of her home that she wanted to personally go topside and fight the demon plague, even knowing how futile it was.

Day after day her body grew stronger and the time came when she was assigned her departure vessel. A civilian transfer ship meant to rendezvous with a larger frigate orbiting the planet. Still, a bitterness remained in her heart. How could such an advanced race give up so easily. Why weren't they fighting? Why couldn't it be saved? Despite her knowledge and growing experience, she was still too optimistic and it made her vulnerable. Aeryn wanted more than anything to save her world, not to flee to other moons and solar systems while mechanics blockaded her home planet and hoped for the day when the virus would die out.

When the day came, Aeryn's face was devoid of emotion. Inside she felt only rage. Rage at the governments, rage at the virus, rage at everything that caused the downfall of her planet. She had been alive not even a solar cycle and yet the knowledge and memories of lifetimes of people lived within her and each of the civilians she was escorting. And she knew her temper, however fierce, could not get in the way of what was to be done.

When the ground shuddered and the thousands of civilians and soldiers had been loaded onto their rockets, Aeryn saw for the first time the sky, and the desolate wasteland of her world. As the launch platform opened and raised up, she could see the black ooze outside, racing along the ground, in the skies, the hive mind she learned of signaling the virus to attack the ships, find an entry point, infect, spread, leave the planet, breed.

They were prepared for this eventuality though, and with a spire of amanathine at it’s core a probe launched into the air and burst, sending shockwaves of intense blistering radiation for miles, decimating all life that wasn’t housed in a shuttle. The ships launched in relative peace, and Aeryn heard of only one transport having fatalities. A shuttle with the daughter of one of the generals imploded before clearing the atmosphere, only the pod containing the augmented drake survived. Ten thousand civilians died, because of one infected soul.

All other ships initiated burn sequences and made it to orbital rotation safely, the shuttles all went through intense quarantine before docking with the main transport ships. Aeryn was one of the first to make it to the convoy, and took a comfortable position in a small shelf of quarters, her own bunk. Crude but her own. She had enough inoculation to last a year, and need only replicate more when the time came.

Unlike so many others, she lived. And as she watched her precious world grow tiny from the small view portal her room was afforded, still all she felt was rage.

And here's part two of Trish's writing, featuring Aeryn the not-trans-allegory hairlizard having melodramatic romance struggles.
"I am different."
Most drakes hadn't a second thought at recreational activities with any drake of the opposing gender, it was in fact, the social norm. It was a norm Aeryn disagreed with, and that put him at odds with many of the other drakes on Ezrael's ship, including the captain herself.

He however, always wanted more and bitterly so; hungered for that need to be met.

Like all sentient species, drakes didn't just have sex for procreation, for them it was also recreation. It kept soldiers balanced, crews controlled, and morale high. It was never frowned upon or belittled. It was their way. Sex parties before battles or wars was common, and drakes used sex as a means of relieving tension and stress. It was very rare that two drakes bonded, very rare that even a single drake imprinted, and the rarest was a bonded, imprinted pair. Aeryn had never heard of nor seen such a thing, but he dreamt of it daily.

Though he'd never share it with his crew mates, the thought of coupling so casually practically disgusted him.

He wanted more. And he wouldn't be satisfied until he found that something he was missing. Sure, there had been instances in the past when he'd fraternized, as there were instances when he'd also clung to another.

The most notable of these instances was his first, and only imprint. Years ago, Aeryn hung out in virtual reality rooms. When he wasn’t engaged in a job that required his attention, all his spare time went to VR. It gave him the slightest bit of camaraderie as he whiled away his free time.

It was in one such VR session that he'd met the stranger who also had a drake avatar in the sim. Many aliens had unique avatars and even some drakes in the sim hid their race with tokens that changed their species, but Aeryn accidentally had run into another. The likelihood of it being an impostor was slim, with their race being the only one of its kind, and spread so thin.

The male he'd come across seemed for all intents and purposes, friendly, outgoing and charismatic. He'd had pale silver eyes that were tinted with a dark blue, like the ocean on an overcast day. And like Angelus, his eyes crinkled when he smiled. It wasn’t love at first sight, or the drake equivalent by any means, but Aeryn had been mildly curious, even if the stranger was "weird" for a drake.

The relationship had been slow to start between them and Aeryn did his best to forget about the aftermath. In his current life, only the trauma and damage left behind by him remained.

Part of that trauma connected to how Aeryn viewed recreation and sex as a whole. He wished every moment of his life that he'd never met that weird drake years ago, because living without the attachment he'd had was unbearable. The wounds lingered and helped fabricate the personality flaws Aeryn now lived with. Flaws that Angelus in the future had to fight against with all of his headstrong might.

Aeryn had had a taste of the deepest bonds their species could have and it left him beyond broken. So when new males wanted to try their hand at recreation with the androgyn, Aeryn often refused. And when he didn't, he left afterward feeling a strong self-loathing and disgust.

It was their way though, to engage in frivolous sex and then leave right after. Not touching, embracing or entwining during or after the act. It was, the biggest disgust to Aeryn. And after his initial romp with Angelus, he'd gone months without frivolity of any kind. Though his crew around him attempted to throw females at the androgyn, (they weren't aware he wasn't fully male) and though he got calls from males of the past, he rejected all advances and let the shame and self hatred eat him alive in the months after the drunken escapade with Angelus.

On several occasions he'd been in a bar or even made it to the hotel room when he'd change his mind and deny the suitor. What he wanted and yearned for with every fiber of his being wasn’t something the overwhelming majority of his species could ever give.

Aeryn spent countless hours and nights alone in his room, reading books from strange, distant worlds that featured love and romance and displays of affection that were so alien to him, he wished for it even more.

Drakes didn't even have a word for love in their language, there was simply no comparison in their tongue. There was imprinting and of course bonding, but not love. And the concept of embracing your partner with touching and sweetness was something only imprinted drakes or bonded pairs engaged in. Most drakes knew not what they were missing. Most lived and died without ever experiencing it.

But Aeryn did. And he felt a pang of sadness and longing in his heart at the emptiness of his own life without that crucial, important thing. Shallow sex for fun, it just wouldn't do. It wasn’t good enough. He felt empty and heartbroken, and even used afterward. He never knew why he felt that way, even when he himself had initiated couplings, but he knew it left him hurt and longing for more.

Inadvertently, his mind would wander to the past. And no amount of squinting could save him from the memories or how his heart suddenly pounded like a thousand hoof beats in his chest at the mere memory of being stroked on the underside of the forearm, or having his finger digits traced by another's. He missed the feeling of his hollows being tickled and kissed by another, and having strong arms wrap around the small of his back. He missed kissing while being paired, and moaning into his lovers maw, and hearing those moans of pleasure back from the other.

This wasn’t the world he lived in, it was the world of his dreams. Of his memories. The sweetest feelings in the universe now caused him tremendous pain, yet still...

He wanted it...

Simulation after simulation had been run, and the blue coated drake was finally satisfied.

In two hundred scenarios, the Behemoth was victorious one hundred and ninety-five times against the armed cargo vessel, Neheleim.

The goal was simple, the Behemoth would shock the hull of the Neheleim, then the captain and two officers in power suits would blast the hatch of the target vessel.

In forty seconds, Ezrael would overpower and dispatch the crew, then plug in the slave drive to take command of the cargo ship. It was a clean, neat operation. With the Behemoths auto pilot programmed for the battle schematic, the only variables were potential detonation of cargo and notable resistance inside, but with such a small ship, the crew compliment would likely be no more than five, a joke to an augmented drake in a power suit, let alone two others.

Aeryn had done his job. All that was left was for the mission to play out. So why was he so distracted? It was a near-foolproof battle plan, and that vessel would net them hundreds of thousands in credits when it was delivered, credits that meant Aeryn could spend leisure time in a massage spa, or have a professional coat grooming, hell he'd even have the currency to upgrade his terrain vehicle. So, why was he so unenthusiastic?

As he dwelled on his thoughts, Aeryn removed the cups on each fingertip, then the straps that connected a wire to the cups on each knuckle, finally removing the wrist links and setting them aside, neatly. He was a very methodical drake and he had an eidetic memory, which came in very useful in his line of work. Unfortunately, that same memory often created moments where he'd zone out, reliving past memories and traumas.

After stripping off the other electronic pads from his chest, he disengaged the helmet from it’s power source, removing the blue-visored apparatus and setting it aside with the other components. Finally free from the technological equipment, he slouched in his chair, sliding halfway down the seat until knees bruised against the underside of his small desk. Tomorrow, it would go flawlessly, he was sure...yet...

"Don't go-"

Aeryn's mind began to wander as surely as his hands had found his mane and combed short, neat claws through it.

"Can't you just let me love you?" The memory echoed so clearly in his mind.

He shut his eyes tighter and shook his head violently--a trait he'd picked up from years of lucid dreams and nightmares, it was what he did to attempt to violently shake the thoughts or images from his mind. Usually, it worked. In dreams, it never failed. But using a trick from the subconscious in the real world wasn’t always such a success.

He held his arms draped over his head, claws clinging to his hair in near-fists for what felt like an eternity. What could he do? Surely, the drake couldn't avoid the issue forever? After all, wasn’t this what he'd dreamt of for so long?

"Yes. And that is what terrifies me." He thought to himself, kicking his paws against the floor to roll the chair back, slowly slithering out of it and onto his feet. The behemoth was under thrust and had been for several days now, which meant the glory of gravity for the crew. If it hadn't been for such a good paying job, they'd likely still have been drifting along at minimal speed, surveying asteroids in the belt for useful metals.

As luck had it though, they were sent a job offer on their digital sea network, and the behemoth picked it up. Five hundred thousand credits per crewman to eliminate the crew of an armed cargo vessel carrying high yield explosives. War was always profitable like that, and the behemoth often was hired for jobs from warring planets or nations, this one was nothing new for them.

The weapons onboard mildly interested their captain though, as a former soldier, Ezrael had a deep fascination for weapons of war and she never passed an opportunity to scan the latest technology. Her fee for the mission was nothing so primitive as currency, merely a single head of one of the torpedos in the ship manifest. They were rumored to be a very dangerous new weapon, the type thats impact created gravity resistant zones on planets. The weapons would decimate a populations ability to exist in a strike zone, as it destroyed the natural magnetics of any world they were targeted to.

That was all fine and interesting for their captain, but Aeryn was a tech. His interest in weapons was something darker. He only wanted to know if he could control them, and how difficult it would be. Hacking technology and implanting viruses was his specialty. But even that didn't interest him lately.

He'd worked so hard in the last few cycles to find the Behemoth, then harder to convince the insane captain to let him join the band of misfits that was her crew. Years of self imposed isolation prior had put Aeryn's mind in a dark and unstable place, so being among his own kind again was indeed a blessing.

Yet, there was never comfort. Never solace. The only member of the crew that knew Aeryn was a defect, was the captain.

And Ezrael had said this when they met, "Whatever your defects may be, if you can do your job quickly and efficiently, then you can stay. But it would be in your best interest to not allow the others to learn of your condition. Even among augments and felons and ex soldiers, you’re still something our kind despises. I cannot and will not be responsible for your safety."

Aeryn had asked what gave him away, he thought after so many years his disguise was perfect. Ezrael had simply smiled. "Well either you’re an androgyn, or you have the smallest set of orbs of any male I've ever seen." The cruel and dark humored captain cackled at Aeryns disturbed expression.

"How you survived maturation is very interesting to me, you should tell me that story sometime. Over drinks, certainly."

Ezrael had waved a palm dismissively and on that day Aeryn was hired. It had been well over a full cycle since then and Aeryn had assimilated into the crew quite nicely.

So, when a recipe for "Gleecian curative for intense Ombrophobia" appeared in the ships database, everyone onboard assumed that Aeryn had a phobia of rain due to the harsh planetoid he lived on for numerous cycles. In reality, the curative he took once a week was a scent modifier created back on Emain, for androgyns like himself, to mask the female scent they produced.

Up until now, he'd lived this lifestyle and played, mostly, by it’s rules. No long term commitments, no attachments, no one to come home to.

And he'd learned his lesson long ago, trying to be attached to any other drake, it only brought him pain. A few years prior, Aeryn had imprinted on a male drake. The pain his betrayal had brought him was almost enough to end Aeryns life.

Somehow though, he'd survived. Clinging to life after being broken down and abused in the most cruel fashion by another drake he'd fully trusted, he found the power,-the spite-to carry on.

The scars it had left on his mind however, were not so easily erased. The dreams, the nightmares, still haunted him. Tormented him. They hadn't ebbed with time, that wasn’t how trauma worked. It clung to him like the sticky web of some alien arachnid, refusing to let go. If he was lucky, he'd have moments of calm between.

On a semi-recent shore leave, they'd met a few drakes from a colony that had sprung up in the binary system they were currently in. It was a small solar system with two suns that orbited each other. One blue, one red. Only five planets in their system, none with rings or any such objects of interest. No stellar phenomenon to speak of, and a moderate asteroid belt containing trillions of tons of ice, rock and metals.

Aeryn had become "close" with one male in particular. He was beyond beautiful by drake standards, far more fetching than any simulated mate Aeryn had designed in the past. And he fancied himself a rather good coder and designer when it came to synthetic life forms.

Nothing beat the real thing though.

With eyes like an ocean covered with the thinnest layer or frost, and fur such a glossy, deep shade of grey blue, one could tell immediately he was of tropical origins. He had a smile that shown in his eyes, they crinkled in the corners when he meant it, and teeth so perfect and white that his smile was infectious as it was sincere. Aeryn was smitten long before he'd seen him take off his his shirt to reveal beautiful broken up stripes of pattern running vertically down his sides, his arms, his back. From the first moment he'd seen him, Aeryn hadn't wanted to be friends. He'd wanted something more, an attachment. There was a longing for this male to touch him. And Aeryn too wanted to feel his fur under the flesh of his own palms.

The blue furred drake had been standing, lost in thought. His own dominant hand was touching his face, as if it were the hand of the male he fantasized over.

For several weeks during his off hours, Aeryn would linger in the recreation center that the beautiful man frequented, and eventually he was caught staring.

Aeryn shook his head, trying to unclutter his mind but his thoughts drifted right back to that moment.

"You work out here a lot lately, I can't help but notice, officer-"

"Aeryn." He'd said, the flesh of his face and neck heating up rapidly, blood pumping to his face causing the white fur on his cheeks to become tinged in blue.

"Right, Aeryn," the beautiful male started, taking a moment to brush a loose lock of wavy mane from his face. He'd been working out quite heavily and strands of his hair had fallen from the tied up portion on the back of his neck. Aeryn couldn't help but stare as if he were the only water in a desert, as he moved the lock of deeply dark, shiny hair back behind a horn. "

"Would you like a workout partner? I just thought I'd ask before your eyes burned a hole through me." He chuckled, it was deep and masculine. Aeryn's face felt like it was on fire.

"That would be...acceptable," he blurted, trying his best not to sound like a stammering schoolgirl.

"Angelus"

Aeryn blinked, "huh?"

"My name," he said with a radiant smile. "It’s Angelus."

They'd worked out then gone for a run together and finally had cold, frothy drinks after. Aeryn had ordered a blissfully satisfying coffee, Angelus had ordered a variant of the same. Aeryn had taken the time to soak in the evening light of the red sun as the blue sun took over. The planet was arid, dry, only the hardiest of plant life survived. There was very minimal darkness, what with two suns.

They spoke for several hours, so long that the recreation center dimmed it’s lights to signal closing. Aeryn had found out he was also from the home world, a citizen, a builder, that he loved similar music and had the same food preferences and more interesting, a gyptian. Aeryn had never met one of them, though his existence on the homeworld was brief.

Angelus spoke of bright painted wagons and steeds and a traveling society of drakes who lived a nomadic life, like their Mistavian ancestors. It was almost magical to him, to think such beautiful cultures once existed on their now desolate world.

When they finally headed out it was Aeryn who became noticeably nervous. Remembering it now, in the safety of his own quarters, still made him uncomfortable.

As if detecting his new friends anxiety, Angelus was the first to speak.

"Look, I know it may be rough out here, our home gone, our people spread thin, but I just thought you should know...I, well, I'm not-"

"Please, don't." Aeryn had silenced him. "I-I don't feel comfortable here, can we go somewhere private? I'd like to explain, if at all possible."

After a brief pause, Angelus said, "Alright, follow me."

Angelus led them by foot to a long terminal in a tunnel where they sat inside of an egg-like apparatus which then was slingshot with powerful magnetics down the tunnels tube and into another complex of the colony. It appeared to be living quarters, they were each a brick shaped hut. Black on the outside, plain, nondescript, no windows and only a single door.

The egg stopped at the end of a stretch of grass and flowering plants to a glossy black brick like all the others.

"My cube," Angelus gestured, then after walking to the doorway he placed a palm on a scanner and the door slid open in a soft hiss, closing behind the two and repressurizing to a more drake friendly atmosphere within.

"I'm going to get something to eat, do you want anything?" Angelus had asked, but Aeryn stopped him.

Standing face to face the two males were similar in height, though Aeryn was slightly thinner in the shoulders, and wider in the hips. They were both clearly tropical, though Aeryn was much more blue, even his head mane was a dark indigo, a symbol of his proximity to Amanathine, and several inches shorter.

While Aeryn had white fur on his face and underbelly and a saddle of blue on his nose bridge, Angelus was a deep oceanic grey and his facial colors blended harmoniously into each other. A dark grey fading into a lighter. Aeryn had stripes around his throat that pointed toward his collar bones, and Angelus had a pattern only tropic drakes were born with. A series of vertical splotches running down his neck and fanning out toward his shoulders, then trailing down the arms to his wrists.

Oh how Aeryn wanted to mouth at those wrists... He shook his head and focused.

"I'd rather get this out of the way before it goes to far" he said, looking just slightly upward into deep blue pools. Beautiful. So dark, yet so light.

"Okay..." Angelus hesitated, feeling the beginnings of discomfort. Sure, he was bigger than this stranger, but Aeryn was an augment. Nothing could keep him from inflicting his will upon the bigger drake if he wanted and it made Angelus's stomach turn.

Aeryn lifted his own shirt and bit the hem in his muzzle, his abdomen of taut muscle and mixing short white and blue fur now exposed. He carefully undid the buckle on his pants and when Angelus began to look even more uncomfortable he only stared him in the eye as if to say "wait".

Aeryn sucked in a deep breath through his snout and tucked both thumbs into his pants and pulled them down, far enough that his pubic bone showed through his fur.

"You’re-" Angelus started, stopped, then started again, stammering briefly. "An-an-"

Aeryn nodded in silence, but the other male now curious took a step forward. His ears had perked forward in curiosity and without hesitating he pulled open Aeryns pants so he could look down into them and sure enough, there was no sheath. In fact his smooth and toned stomach rolled into a gentle and feminine pubic bone that dipped into the darkness of his pants, nothing outwardly "male" to be seen.

He let go of Aeryns pant line and furrowed his brow spots, "but you smell-"

"Like a man, yes. We take injections, those like us...to hide."

"But, you’re not-"

"Not quite anything, really."

"I think, we need something stronger than water" Angelus laughed, bowing his head and heading to the tiny kitchen where he pulled a dusty bottle with gold liquid from the back of a cupboard. "Much stronger," he poured two shot glasses worth and pushed one across a slim bar top lining the kitchen, toward Aeryn.

The flustered blue drake took the drink and opened his maw, tossing it back onto the flats of his tongue and swallowing it before tapping the glass once on the counter and setting it down again. Angelus refilled both of their drinks twice more before they spoke.

Having never seen a real androgyn in his life, he had been speechless, yet also an innocent curiosity had taken him. He asked questions about Aeryn's origin, how he survived the culling, how it had been just dumb luck that the government had spent so much on enhancing his embryo.

After some time though, their talking slowed, and finally one of them broke the silence.

"May I?" Asked Angelus, his voice had softened from the harsh masculinity he showed while they worked out. There was a hint of something more, lingering. Aeryn couldn't help allow himself to think in that moment that perhaps there was the smallest chance...

"You want to touch me?" Aeryn had asked, feeling his ears raise slightly, though mostly remaining in their neutral, cocked back position.

"I just, I've never met someone like you," he felt himself turn heated in the face. Perhaps from the alcohol or perhaps what he'd just asked his new friend. Aeryn stood, undoing his pants once more only this time Angelus had stopped him part way.

The slightly larger male undid the remainder of the buckle and let the two halves fall to the sides as he tugged the loose jumpsuit bottoms Aeryn wore down, and as he did he smoothly had run one large palm behind Aeryn's back, cradling him and hinting for the blue drake to lean back into his arm while the other arm slid down his front.

As the fingers touched the thinning fur on his stomach, Aeryn's muscles crawled and twitched. It had been so rare for him to be touched at all, that the sensation caused his fur and the flesh under to ripple from sheer sensitivity.

Before he knew what was happening, Angelus had nearly reached a kneel and Aeryn felt his shoulders bump the wall behind him. Partially drunk, partially embarrassed, he steadied himself with a palm against the wall and the other on the shoulder of the man who looked up at him with curiosity.

"I can smell you now," he said, almost as if it were a scientific discovery and Aeryn groaned in complaint. He felt his pants slide down his thighs and he knew before the air kissed his fur that he was exposed.

"Female," Angelus muttered, pawing a hand over the soft mound between Aeryn's legs, one sole digit passing between them to stroke and touch inquisitively.

"All female," he said again and Aeryn felt the warm breath from Angelus's snout on his groin.

There was a moment of readjusting both arms around Aeryn's back now, to cup what was entirely a females bottom, before a hot tongue pressed against his most sensitive areas.

"Ah-Gods-" Aeryn moaned, pawing helplessly at Angelus's mane as he felt his legs go limp, but all the gym time made the grey drake quite strong, and he effortlessly held up his new companion, nuzzling and lapping between Aeryn's legs until he had the other drake trembling and begging for more.

Aeryn was only allowed to briefly catch his breath before he was picked up and carried not to a bed, but the narrow sofa in Angelus's tiny living room. He laid not even for a second before the other male was atop him, pressing his own need for comfort and wants against him.

Reaching between his own legs Aeryn had torn the belt off of Angelus's pants and freed the rest of his body from his clothing. He hardly had a moment to enjoy how beautiful the other male was before being pinned down by his weight and kissed along his hollows and collar bone. The sweetest part that Aeryn would never forget, was the whimper the other man gave when he pressed the full length of himself against Aeryn's groin and stomach, begging without words to breed him.

And the softest touch of Aeryn's hand on his length let him know he was allowed.

Despite being drakes both, this was an unusual recreational session.

Aeryn had been showered in kisses, had his tongue sucked and embraced by the other male, his body stroked and caressed, even under his shirt he'd been touched. Angelus proved to be a gentler lover, taking care to please Aeryn as certainly as he pleased himself.

From then they were nearly inseparable. Anytime Aeryn docked at their colony, Angelus greeted him. Anytime he had shore leave, they spent time together. It was Angelus who acted first, despite the clear attraction Aeryn had from day one, he'd refused to push Angelus, not wanting others to potentially discover his deepest secret.

Angelus however, had long passed the desire for hiding his affections. Their first drunken night together had proved that.

As he learned more of Aeryn's story, he felt a deeper attraction and connection to this poor, lonely, fearful, yet brilliant drake.

It was Aeryn leaning into his hand when he'd cupped his face, aboard the Behemoth, that broke Angelus's willpower.

He leaned in and kissed Aeryn, the tines of his tongue brushing the front of his muzzle, seeking entry. Aeryn had turned a deep sapphire through the white of his checks and throat, but kissed back. From there it became a battle of wills. Aeryn's will stopping them both.

Angelus was willing to accept the aspects of Aeryn's body, but Aeryn wasn’t. While Angelus wanted to give him affection, it was Aeryn who constantly withdrew. They hadn't even managed to have sex since he'd come aboard, because Aeryn, in the moment, was too frightened to take his shirt off. Terrified the crew would find out.

There was also the matter of his unique physiology. Nude from the waist down he’d told Angelus that he could present as female this way, but the second his shirt was removed and his lack of feminine torso exposed, the fantasy would be ruined. Yet, they'd already coupled, several times in fact-though none since he'd come aboard. Aeryn acted as if it should bother Angelus, when it clearly did not.

And this was where they were at now.

For months they'd been seeing each other, Angelus had even joined the behemoth and stayed on, against Aeryn's protests.

Yet it seemed Aeryn was even more anxious than ever. They had to sneak around a ship with numerous other drakes to not be seen as gay, and as Aeryn's condition was a secret, it made matters far more complex.

If they were ever caught together, Aeryn would have to make a terrible choice. Either revealing what he was, or something far worse, breaking the most basic moral laws of their people and stating they were gay--a death sentence.

Paranoia and fear had saved them thus far, as you can't be caught together if you aren’t together.

But after weeks of cat and mouse and being avoided, Angelus finally cornered Aeryn in his room. Right after he'd finished programming tomorrow's mission into the ships A.I. database.

"This isn't a good time" Aeryn began, as he hit the auto lock on his door after Angelus walked in. "The mission, it’s tomorrow" the doors hissed shut, then a clank signaled the locking bolt.

"I know." He said, pulling his shirt off and backing Aeryn into his room until he fell into a seated position on his bunk. "I also know that your part is complete and that you have nothing to do for the next eighteen hours."

Aeryn's eyes fell upon the torso of the man he was so attracted to. Watched the muscles in his beautiful shoulders and chest twitch under the short grey fur as he leaned down to get into the bunk.

Angelus crawled up beside Aeryn and put his hand on one of his shoulders. "So I was thinking, how about you stop hiding from me."

"I'm not hiding." Aeryn said pointedly, turning his blue tipped muzzle toward Angelus. "I was.."

"Working, yes I know. Tell me, how is it working out for you?" It was a tease, but in a serious tone of voice. Aeryn's ears flattened slightly at the tone.

"Fin-" he began to answer but was interrupted.

"How about I tell you how it’s working for me." Angelus pulled Aeryn further into the bed then positioned himself laying on his side, propped up on an elbow, staring down at the slightly smaller, bluer drake. "Because I want to touch you Aeryn. I'm here /for you/. I'm the only one who knows what you are, who you are. When will you start trusting me? When will you just relax...and let me touch you?"

Aeryn stiffened reflexively. "It's just...I'm not-"

"I already know, and you know what Aeryn? I don't hate you for it. You don't disgust me, if you did...would I really still be here? Would I have left my colony-"

"Don't put that on me, I tried to say no."

"But that would have been a lie. It’s not what you wanted and you know it. You can't even honestly express your own selfish desires"

"I've heard this all before," muttered Aeryn, who had begun to feel quite defensive and was actively staring upward, avoiding eye contact.

"I know, and I'll never be able to prove otherwise...if you don't let me" his voice had gone soft, and he leaned over the other drake, nosing into one of Aeryn's hollows, the gap between jaw and throat. His tines flicked lightly on the exposed skin and he slowly rolled his body to be on top of Aeryn's.

Aeryn felt a tightness in his throat and he swallowed, trying to toughen up. "So it can happen again? I can't allow it. I can't let myself be thrown away again." He tried to put both hands on Angelus's sides and push him off, but it was half hearted. Angelus knew better. He knew if Aeryn wanted he could throw him across the room.

He sighed. He knew Aeryn had feelings for him, but he held back, he held back more than any one being should have to.

"You've been alone for so long Aeryn, just...let me hold you...so you can remember what it feels like."

"What, touch? I know that feel-"

"No." He interrupted, "being wanted."

"I don't-"

"Can't you just let yourself feel? Do I have to get you drunk to let your guard down..?"

The words stung more than they should have and Aeryn's knees raised instinctively, because he wanted to throw the other man off and roll away.

"Look at me," the grey drake said, his black mane free from the tie that usually held it, hanging down in waves to brush Aeryn's face.

There was a familiar burning in the back of Aeryn's eyes and he wanted to scream and shove the other man away. His tail bristled and bushed out defensively like an angry puppy or kitten.

"I can't." He thought to himself "if I do you'll see, you'll see me cry. I can't. I can't show these emotions" but Angelus was nearly as stubborn as he was and he forcibly took Aeryn's muzzle in his hand and turned his head to stare into one of the blue drakes eyes.

Tear filled eyes.

Angelus dipped his head down and kissed him, prying his larger tongue into Aeryn's mouth and forcing him to kiss back, even though he sobbed into the other drakes mouth he didn't stop the kiss.

When Aeryn had calmed down, Angelus simply stroked his hair and hugged him tightly.

"I won't go anywhere, I promise. It won't be like before, I wouldn't do that to you. I'd even be willing to bond to you, to prove it. You shouldn't be alone. We can find a way to make this work, and if anyone finds out then we will deal with it in time. But on alien worlds, on missions outside drake space, you don't have to hide. We can just be. Wouldn't you like that? To be able to hold my hand...where everyone can see?"

"The thought of being seen affectionate with another male should offend you, as a drake, deeply" Aeryn said, his tone had an attitude of disgust behind it.

"But you aren’t another male, you’re just...different. Even if people don't understand, who cares?"

"I do"

"Then tell me you don't want me to stay. Tell me you hate my touch. Tell me you don't fantasize every day about waking up with my naked fur pressed against yours."

Aeryn sighed. For a moment and in stubbornness, he almost did just that, but he held his tongue and said nothing. Even if he felt anger now, he knew Angelus was right. He did want those things, desperately. But to show that kind of weakness was...despicable.

"I offered a plan to your captain..."

Aeryn groaned and moved to sit up.

"There are double bunk rooms on this ship. I offered to share a room, with my "friend" Aeryn. Actually, Ezrael was quite agreeable. She said, "finally that bitch will get some.""

Angelus laughed and Aeryn looked mortified.

"Well I tried to play innocent, but your captain is too clever and found me out."

"Gods-What did you say to her?!"

"Nothing relevant. I didn't have to. It would seem", he smirked and leaned in, brushing his snout into Aeryn's neck. "That she smelled me, apparently all over you. Who would have thought Aeryn was so sentimental to keep my scent around so long-" he was practically grinning and Aeryn slapped both hands on his maw, shielding his smug smile while the poor drake felt himself burning with a full body blush.

"If you don't shut up I swear, I'll castrate you"

"No you wouldn't, you like them too much when they’re pressed against you"

The slap he received a microsecond later was one he deemed worth it. "Come on honey, don't you want to be my girlfriend?" He said, rubbing his cheek into Aeryn's chest and listening to his heart pound.

"I'm not a girl!" He practically shouted.

"You can be my girl, especially with what you have down here.."he jokingly patted Aeryn's lap, causing him to swat his hands and become more flustered.

Angelus practically sang, kissing at Aeryn's chest through his shirt. "Come on, after all these months...just say yes."

That'll give you a pretty good idea of what her novels are going to read like.
